Northern Colorado Surgical Associates Bariatric Center

My first impression of Dr. Quaid was...WOW he is YOUNG!!! He is GREAT though. He talked to me for a long time. He is very light spoken. He told me just about everything that I need to know about this surgery. He wanted to make sure that I took time to think it over, and that I understood exactly what I was getting myself into. His office staff are the nicest people you will ever meet. They are very busy, but they never treat you like they don't have time for you. Future patients should know that although he is young, he is very informed and experienced in his field. He takes his job very seriously and cares about his patients. He said he likes to help people feel better and get healthy. He made sure that I fully understood all of the risks of surgery. I have spoke with him at my consult and at my pre-op appointments. I also went to the support group meeting on May 20th. He was there answering questions. I am very impressed with him. I have full faith that he will do a wonderful job with my surgery and everything will turn out GREAT!!!!

I met Dr. Quaid in February 2002. My first thoughts were that he was informative and thorough. He is compassionate and patient, and seems very personable. I was on a waiting list for almost 7 months, I found the office staff to be helpful and pleasant. Dr. Quaid was upfront about the complications and risks of the surgery. I feel confident with him as my surgeon.

I am now 6 days post-op, and I can safely say that Dr. Quaid is totally awesome!! I felt so secure and confiedent with him doing this surgery, his office staff is also completly helpful. If you live in Colorado or near by, I would recommend him and the Poudre Valley Hospital to anyone, my experience there and with him was great, everything I could have asked for. I just read the bottom of this page and it says no one can be the best, well, I think that Dr. Quaid is the best!!

I met Dr. Pettine on 4/5/02. He was very informative, as was Becky, the nurse, and I was impressed with the honesty and straight-forward attitude. I liked that very much. I think that Dr. Pettine is very knowledgeable, and he actually gave me the worst-case scenario, and I was still able to say that I am ready. Dr. Pettine requires a mental evaluation for every patient, which is ok with me. Aftercare is a very very important thing, and the mental ups and downs will be hard. I think that talking to someone who has had the surgery already is very important.
Dr. Pettine has a very good bedside manner, and he checked on my daily. He is very responsive to questions, and is straight-forward and sincere. I was very impressed with him. Becky, the nurse also came to visit me in the hospital, and remind me of the things that I need to do. She is also very kind and considerate. The staff is very recommended by me. I didn't have a negative experience through the whole thing! It was great!

At first I was a little confused because I didnt see his name in the list of bariatric surgeons. However, one of his partners is listed. But once I went to see him, I was very reassured. He's a very nice man, explained things carefully, and listened to my concerns. He was eager to get the surgery scheduled, which I appreciated very much. My surgery was scheduled one month from my initial consultation. I had absolutely no complications. I feel that I was in very capable hands and would recommend him to anyone (in fact I have been telling all of my friends that are considering WLS).
I would also like to say that each time I go for a follow up, I like him even more. In fact the whole office staff is wonderful.

I was instantly comfortable with Dr. Pettine from the moment I met him. He gave it to me straight, didn't try to sugar coat anything, and told me everything and anything to expect if I was to go ahead with the surgery. He was so easy to get along with. I didn't feel uncomfortable for one second, and that includes going through surgery with him. He did everything he could to make sure I was ready and prepared for everything that was about to change in my life. He came and had a talk with me right before the surgery, and he is one of the first things I remember seeing after waking up. He continued to check up on me repeatedly. I feel very lucky to have a surgeon who cares so much about me. I don't have one negative thing to say about this man. I am only 5 days post op and I feel wonderful. He did a great job and gave me a new life. I would recommend him to everyone :)

Very tall. He put out his hand to shake mine. I do not see that much anymore. Very friendly. I brought tons of paperwork I copyed from the internet on the surgery. He was inpressed he told me. We talked then had a physical. He said ok on the surgery. I was so happy. The office staff was great. I wish thought somebody had the surgery and really would understand. They have monthly meeting at the hospital. But I do not have transportation to go there.

I liked Dr Quaid. He answered all my questions and more. I felt very comfortable having him as my surgeon. His office staff is very nice and make you feel as if you are not this terrible monster because you are overweight. They are also good at explaining the whole procedure from start to finish, leaving no stone unturned. I would definately recommend Dr. Quaid to anyone who is thinking about this and is close to the Ft Collins, CO area.
