Very pleasant with a great bedside manner. He continues to be pleasant and positive.
The office staff is very nice and accomodating.
I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Strickland, he has always be prompt, informative and pleasant.
He's great.
He talks about the aftercare very strongly prior to surgery.

I really like Dr. Strickland. I appreciate that he goes to such lengths to insure your safety. I had to get a cardiac clearance and have a Greenfield filter put in, which reassured me that I would survive the surgery. I did great! It has been three days since my surgery, and I am home and doing well. I am not as sore as I was after gall bladder surgery! I highly recommend Dr.Strickland and would not have wanted any one else as my surgeon. He is truly the best. My only complaint and it is small, was that because I had my surgery on Memorial Day weekend, I had to see other surgeons after my surgery until I left the hospital Sunday. He and Dr. Givens have a great support group and make sure I meet with the dietician on a regular basis.

Dr. Givens is great. On my visit I was upset when he walked into the room. He asked what was wrong. My husband who had gone with me advised him that I was shocked by my weight. I had not realized how heavy I really was. He just said well that's why you are here so we can help you. He was very patient with our questions and complimented us on the research we had done. I felt comfortable with him and so did Raymond.

After the appointment my husband stated he felt like he could trust him to take great care of me!!!!

At this point I would rate him at a 10 out of 10.

I had my appointment with Dr. Strickland on March 24, 2003 and was very impressed with him and his practice. I was nervous when I went for my appointment but he and his staff were friendly and quickly put me at ease. I took my boyfriend with me and the doctor took the time to answer his questions as well as mine. I did not feel like I was being rushed through my appointment. The doctor asked me a lot of questions too. He also didn't seem put off by my asking a lot of stupid questions which I'm sure he has heard a hundred times before. Dr. Strickland explained the procedure and what I could expect both pre-op and post-op. I left his office feeling like this thing will actually work.
I haven't met his partner, Dr. Givens, but he spoke at the seminar we attended in January and he also seemed very knowledgable. Both doctors and their staff seem to care about the type of work they is doing and I didn't feel out of place or embarrased because of my weight. My surgery is scheduled for July 23, 2003. I don't know which surgeon will do my procedure, but at this point I would feel comfortable with either one. My niece is an R.N. in Columbia and used to work at Lexington Medical Center where I will have my surgery. She highly recommends the hospital and also has a lot of good things to say about my surgeons and their practice. That's pretty impressive coming from an R.N.

Dr. Strickland was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions. He also made me aware of all of the risk associated with WLS. I really liked the way Dr. Strickland took time to talk to my husband and I. Dr. Strickland will talk openly with you about the surgery and also he will talk to you about the precautions that he takes with his patients to assure that many of these complications are minimized. I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Strickland and I felt more comfortable about WLS after I had my initial individual consultation. The staff was also courteous. There is a support group for after care and Dr. Strickland encourages you to talk to others who have had the surgery. I rate Dr. Strickland a 10, as I think he is a truly competent surgeon.

<b><font face="Book Antiqua"><font size=3<p align="left">I am 7 months post op. Dr. Strickland performed the surgery. I feel that is a very good surgeon and takes his time to answer all of my questions. His nurse, Amanda, is awesome. She treats all of the patients like they were the only one. This has not changed even though there are more and more patients all of the time. I can ask her anything and I get a response very fast. I highly recommend Dr. Strickland and it has been worth the travel from Greenville to Columbia.

I attended the Seminar he provided in January, this seminar was very educational. I went to see Dr. Strickland on Feb. 27th. He was very nice, and was able to answer any questions I had. His staff was also very nice.

I have now met Dr. Strickland and his staff several times and I am very happy with what I have seen so far. Dr. Strickland and his partner, Dr. Givens seem to truly care about people with weight problems and are always professional, polite and have a good sense of humor. I am very confident with my choice of surgeons and have only heard good things about him/his staff from people that I have talked to who have already had the surgery. I feel that the pros and cons of the surgery are covered extremely well in the weight loss semianars that they offer as well as in the personal meetings with the Doctor. I also had good experiences with the dietician and the psychologist that was recommended by Southern Surgical. Overall so far I would rate my experiences with this surgical group to be first-rate! I will also note that they have a very structured after care program and that they stress the need to have a life-long relationship with the doctors office for the life of the patient after surgery (which hopefully is a long time)!

I just met with Dr. Strickland for the first time today and let me just say this: he is (so far) probably the nicest, least condescending doctor I have *ever* been in the room with. He was very friendly and like I said before there was not one iota of condescension in the way that he talked with me. I was *very* comfortable--not at all made to feel ashamed. I have not had surgery yet, so I can't tell you how good he is in terms of actually performing the surgery (even though I heard from many sources that he's great), but I can tell you this: if you are hesitating to look into this surgery because you think the doctor is going to make you feel ashamed--go see Dr. Strickland and worry no more! Two thumbs way up!

He has an excellent bedside manner - very compassionate and kind. It is a good idea to write down any questions you want to be sure and have answers. He gives you a lot of info during the consult so it is hard to get sidetracked and forget. The office staff jostled me around a bit at first - apparently I wasn't talking to the right person (even though I told the lady that answered the phone what I was trying to find out) but Amanda is very kind and professional and returns my calls when I leave messages - usually within the same day. The rest of the staff seems to be on their toes as well and very helpful. Dr. Strickland did emphasize aftercare a lot. Overal he kicks jedi butt. I like him a lot. God bless him for making a difference in so many lives.
