I thought Dr. O'Brien and his staff were great. I felt very informed on what was going to happen. The after care program is excellant. I am very happy i traveled the 5 hours to have Dr. O'Brien do my surgery.

The wait to get an appointment was about a month and the time in the waiting room was about an hour, and the visit itself was about 2 minutes, which was disappointing, but the actual surgery was perfect and my post op care excellent, so the wait was definitely worth it. Dr O'Brien isn't a chatty doctor, but his hands are the most important part of his job, and he uses them excellently and pays close attention to detail in all aspects of care.

On April 15,03 I met with Dr. Graham. He is awesome. Very informative and willing to spend time answering your questions. He even took time to get to know me.(even though he was an hour behind schedule) Now thats what I like. So far I would rate him a 10.

Dr. O'Brien and all his office staff and also the hospital staff were wonderful!! Very caring and helpful from the start!
I highly recommend Dr. O! I felt very comfortable in his hands as did my family!
They offer lots of information and are great about answering ANY questions from the very first step and ongoing!
I have not had any bad experiences at all with Dr. O or this surgery.

<font size = "3"><b><font color ="black">My first impression of Dr Obrien is when I went to the support group meeting. He was very willing to answer questions that everyone directed towards him. He is serious about helping people but also has a sense of humor.

When I went to my consultation, he was friendly and answered my questions in very basic terms. He seemed kind of in a hurry but that is understandable for a very busy person.

His office staff have all been very kind. His nurse Pam has been great about answering all of my emails.

The only complaint I have at this point is his chairs in the waiting room are a little on the snug side.</font color></b>

My first impression of Dr. O'Brien was that he is a very small man compared to me..... but over time, he seemed caring and kind.

His staff is only professional and courteous. They have a job to do and they do it with utmost caring and consideration.

My initial appointment was August 28, 2002 and my surgery is set for April 9, 2003. I have many many telephone conversations with his staff and the appealing of my case for insurance.....

Dr. OBrien is a thin man and I didn't know if he would understand where I was coming from but after talking to him for awhile I was able to tell that he had a lot of concern for his patients and their problems. His office staff have been very kind. I felt bad having to step on the scale for the first time in their office as they do not have weight problems. But they were very decreet. Dr. talked about the importance of care and dietary help before the surgery and after. There are meetings to attend after the surgery. Dr. went over the procedures that would happen and what I should expect to happen after the surgery. He did mention the risk factors but that if we keep in good contact we should avoid problems. I would rate Dr. OBrien very highly. I have been at his website and the people that have been patients of his speak very positively about him. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important.

My first impression of Dr. O'Brien was very positive he gives the patient a feeling that you can totally trust him. and he is interested in helping you.

I've had one consult with Dr. O'Brien. I had read other first impressions of him on this site and mine is mostly the same. He seems knowledgeable, experienced and kind. He answered all my questions and encouraged me to continue my research and have contact with others who have had this surgery. He explained the different types of procedures and what exactly he would be doing. So far, my impression of him is good.

I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY NICE AND GAVE ME A LOT
OF INFORMATION AND WHEN I ASKED HIM QUESTIONS
HE ANSWERED VERY TRUTHFULLY. HE TOLD ME ALL
THE PROS AND CONS AND WHEN ASKED IF HE HAD
LOST ANY PATIENTS FROM THIS SURGERY HE SAID
"NO,BUT HE HAD ONE DIE FROM A BLOOD CLOT AND
THAT WAS NOT DUE TO THE SURGERY AND THAT HE
HAD ONE LEAK AND HE WENT IN AND REPAIRED IT
AND THE PERSON IS DOING FINE NOW.
MY IMPRESSION HAS NOT CHANGED ONE BIT. HIS
OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. IF
YOU NEED ANYTHING OR HAVE QUESTIONS THEY ARE
THERE TO ANSWER THEM. THERE IS NOTHING THAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT DR. GRAHAM I WOULD USE HIM AGAIN IF I HAD TO, AND I WOULD RECCOMEND
HIM TO ANYONE.
AS FOR AFTERCARE HE RECCOMENDS A LOT OF
WALKING,FOLLOW YOUR DIET,YOU WILL BE OFF WORK
FOR 3 WEEKS AND AFTER THAT YOU CAN GO BACK TO
WORK AND DRIVE A CAR.
I WOULD RATE HIM OVERALL AN EXCELLENT DR.
HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER
ARE BOTH GREAT.
THE ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE ANASTHIESTOLOGST WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY
HEALTH INSURANCE
