Dr. Heydari is amazing....his program is amazing he is caring, thoughtful, and followed up all the time with me. Every morning I was in the hospital he stopped by at 7 am to check on me see how I was doing and give me updates on the day.

I would recommend him to anyone of my friends or family. He saved my dad who was he was very sick and needed a hernia operation even though everyone else told him he was unoperable because of his advanced heart disease, he gave my dad the choice instead of not even trying.

Thank you Dr. Heydari for everything you are truley a gift from god.

Dr Heydari is serious about helping overweight patients. This man and his team are true Godsends. I feel very supported by Dr Heydari and feel like I wasn't a paycheck for him, but a real opportunity to help change my life.

I met with the DR for the first time march 9th 2004 . He was so nice and careing i was and still am scared but he made me feel alot better by takeing the time to talk with me and my mom and answer all our questions . His staff was also very nice and so far very helpful, getting everything togather for the Insurance company.
As I read this i see I have not updated and I am so sorry I had my surgey in July of 2004 , Dr. Heydari and his staff are the best group around so very supportive and caring I am Now 6 years out I had lost over the first 2 years 165 pounds and all my health issues went away. I think Dr Heydari and his staff are great. He was always very caring, concerned about my health and always ready/willing to answer any questions honestly. My surgery went very well ans so far recovery has been pretty good. Some small "glitches", but they have been handled well also. He has a very thorough pre-surgical program and lots of support for us afterward including 2 months free membership for the pt and a support person at the Huntley Healthbridge healthclub which so far has also been great. We plan to stay if we can afford it! I honestly think it was the best program and surgeon for me. I also think a LOT of the success/failure is in the mind and attitude of the patient. You HAVE to follow the rules for the best outcome and your surgeon can only tell you the rules.

I had my bypass surgery 1/13/09 and have lost 176lbs to date. I struggled with my weight for years and tried different diets and sometimes was successful, but not permanently. I reached my heaviest at 440lbs and I didn't care anymore. I was struggling with walking, standing, sleeping. Almost everything. I was dealing with depression medications, high BP and sleep disorders. One day I went to the hospital to have xrays done on my knees, I was in so much pain. The nurse had told me about Dr. Heydari because a nurse in another department there had the surgery, and she raved about him. She told me about his information sessions so I signed up for it. I needed help, I wanted to live. I had 3 children, the youngest 11 and a grandson. I went to the meeting and listened and knew Dr. Heydari was the one. He was very informative and personable. I signed up for the surgery and I was amazed of how well I was treated. Even though it seemed like I waited an eternity to have my life back, I was glad that it wasn't something they rushed into. I took my classes and followed all the steps. Almost a year later I was on my way to feeling better. I would recommend anyone looking for help with weightloss to attend one of Dr. Heydari's sessions. I feel he is a great hope. I want to add, this is not a cure all this is only one step in the right direction. The rest is up to you, but I think with Dr. Heydari's "bedside manner" it is a lot easier. He doesn't just throw you in the water to learn how to swim, he cares and and is willing to help you.

I first encountered Dr Heydari at a Bariatric Info Session. He showed up in jeans and a t-shirt and I was told he tries to attend every session to meet prospective patients and answer questions. Knowing that made a great first impression. Once I became a patient, he really is involved and caring towareds all patients. Appointments are not rushed and he answers all questions. The mandatory pre-op structure is absolutely the best. I"d recommend some type of post op class as well, although it would be difficult to make that mandatory; perphaps re-emphasizing real life food choices, complications, mental issues. The support group is available but not always specific to the after care needs of a newly post op patient. However, I must state that the Dr's staff is always available and very helpful. Overall, he is a wonderful doctor. It is rare to find a physcian that cares deeply for all patients and has remarkable skill as well!

Dr. Heydari operated on me and he appeared to be nice up to the point that I had complications. From that point on he was disinterested to help me and gave me the impression that I was a nuisance to him. I contacted Dr. McClellan who was very understanding to my problem and she really took good care of me. I was debating with myself weather I should post this but I felt that future patients should know.

I first met Dr. Heydari when he was going to perfrom my wife's gastric bypass. I was impressed with his high degree of professionalism and his thorough knowledge of the surgical procedure and all of the aspects of weight loss surgery as a whole.

That made my decision to proceed with my gastric bypass surgery much easier.

His office staff and surgical team follows his lead with their professionalism and knowledge. This includes dieticians, counselers and the leaders of the support group.

Dr. Heydari wants us to be successful after surgery as well. That is why his aftercare program is also very thorough. He advises you on the pitfalls and complacency that can happen if you are not diligent in your program.

That is why I would highly recommend Dr Heydari to anyone considering bariatric surgery.

I am a ER RN and have known Dr. Heydari for 10 years. He did appendectomy's on both my son and Mother In Law over the years and I have seen him in action over the years in emergency situations.

As a medical professional it takes quite a bit for a physician to inspire trust and admiration but Dr Heydari has done both as I have observed him from afar and for my own medical care.

I am now planning to have the lap band late this month and he is doing it. What a gentleman he is. He has such a non - judgemental attitude about his patients obesity. He views it as a terrible disease and truly wants his patients to achieve success.

As a medical professional I have a minimalist attitude about surgery! Do not do it unless you absolutely need it, and if you need it, you would be wise to have Dr Heydari doing it.
