DR. KWON IS A LIFE SAVER. I TRUSTED ALL HIS DECISION'S IN MAKING MY SURGERY A POSTIVE ONE. HIS STAFF ARE THE BEST AROUND. VERY PLESENT, HELPFUL , AND HAPPY PEOPLE. THANK YOU EVERYONE . ONE OF THE BEST PARTS ABOUT HIS PRACTICE IS HIS SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS AND THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THEM. THE ARE VERY HELPFUL WITH ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. I WOULD RATE DR. I really liked Dr. Kwon. I had a thing... that when I went into meet him, if I couldn't make him laugh or I didn't like the vibe I got when I shook his hand, he wasn't coming near me with a knife. Not only did I make him laugh, he made me comfortable, and I got a good vibe when we shook hands. The Day of the surgery he talked to me in the OR & I felt so much better seeing him. He came up to my room afterward to discharge me & was nice then too. I LOVE his staff they are always there when you need them & they are very sweet. Definately go to Dr. Kwon if you are planning on having this done!

When I first met Dr. Weiss I was impressed with his compassion and knowledge. As I got to know him better on succeeding visits I enjoyed his ability to focus completely on me and what I needed to know during my visit. His office staff was incredible. Very professional, competent and kind. Because of the increasing volume of patients involved in the Bassett Bariatric Program, some personal connection is lost. You need to be familiar with your own case and details in order to be specific on what you want. Dr. Weiss stresses the importance of having a good follow through and keeping vigilant on your diet. He encourages the attendance at the Bassett Bariatric Program's various support groups. He covers the risks of surgery completely and graphically and has a great deal of knowledge and skill. Although he could use some help in keeping his patients straight in his mind, (again the rising volume of patients serviced by his program is the main cause) he is a caring and competent surgeon.rn

I had my actual lap band surgery in Westchester, which is quite a drive from Sullivan county for the amount of necessary follow up. Three months after my surgery, in a struggleing state I inquired with Dr Kwons office because I had heard very good things about his program. I made an appointment and it has been the most enriching experience of my life. Dr Kwon is professional, serious and is so genuinely caring that honestly, words cannot give justice to his integrity and committment. He is dedicated and intelligent and his program works! Lap band is not just about the band itself, it is about the entire journey and follow up. Dr Kwon and his staff have the experience and knowledge to help you succeed using the lap band as a tool. I have lost over 100 lbs and Dr Kwon still continues to give me support and motivation as I now move into the maintainence stage of my journey. They are with me every step of the way, I feel that I have been so successful because of his direction, and committment. He has been very instrumental in helping me reach my weight loss goal, become healthy and active. I am proud to know him and share my admiration for him with everyone.

My first impression was that he was young. Why does it seem that my doctors are getting younger and younger? LOL can't be that I'm getting OLDERRRRRRRRRR ???rnAfter consulting with him I found him to be very thorough and informative. He answered all my questions. He was patient, and caring. rnI can't say my impression changed much overtime. He calls me always with any questions I have for him. I really like the efficency and friendliness of his office staff. They seem to go above the call of duty (waited for me to come in and weigh in at the end of a day, cuz I was sure I wasn't losing) Dr. Rivera feels aftercare is very important. He highly recommends support groups and meeting with Nutritionist as well as seeing him on scheduled dates. I would rate him an over all excellent surgeon who is very competent and has a wonderful beside manner. I don't have anything negative to say other than ok, well on my first visit I had a long wait due to his running late he just had his first child and had to do his \"first fatherly duty\" bring him home from hospital!

Dr. Rivera is a very nice individule. His Assistants were very comforting and they delt with my insurance company directly. They gave me all of the information that I needed and step by step gave me instructions on what I needed to do as far as gaining approval. Between 1-10 I give Dr. Rivera an 11. The Dr. did explain all of the risks and benifits of surgery etc... I now see the Dr. regulary for follow up visits and He and his assistants have maintaid the same caring and professional manner that I have experiance since our first encounter.rn

I am only 2 days post op. Dr. Kwon's office is very thorough and kind. They help make sure that you have everything that you need. Becky didn't just tell me what I needed to do, she made phone calls also and really helped me. I was very nervous to meet Dr. Kwon. I had spoken to people and everyone said how strict he was and it gave me an impression that he was going to be very \"stern\". When I met him, he was wonderful. So nice. He tells you how it is, that you need to follow the diet he gives you in order to be successful and at the same time helps you to realize that you can do it. My second thought after I met him was how competent he is. It is very evident when you talk to him about the surgery. He also listened. When I told him my feelings and thoughts he answered them. That really meant alot to me. My primary dr. doesn't even do that. I went into the operating room with all the knowledge that I could possibly have about my surgery. I will definitely steer anyone I know thinking about bariatric surgery to Dr. Kwon.
