Dr. Nagle is the cream of the crop. I'm so glad he was my surgeon. I felt like I got the best possible care I could have ever hoped for from him. My first impression was \"now this is the dude I want to operate on me\". I had total and utmost trust in him. I had heard good things about him before I met him in person, and he did not disappoint. Even the morning of surgery when I was extremely calm about the whole thing and my family commented on it, all I could tell them was I was confident in my decision to have Dr. Nagle perform the procedure...no second thoughts about it. Dr. Nagle's office staff is friendly and extremely efficient. I was treated like a queen (and rightfully so!) The fact that Dr. Nagle works closely with the Wellness Institute for pre and post op care is very important to me. There is a support group that meets monthly at Northwestern and is key to the sucess of their program. In a nutshell: if you live in the Chicagoland area do not walk - run - to Dr. Nagle!

I feel like I can give an honest opinion of Dr. Nagle, now that i am 6 months post op. Nobody can ever say anything bad about Dr. Nagle, he is the best in his field. I had no complications and followed my diet. I lost 124 lbs already at 6 months out. Dr. Nagle always answered all of my questions, and if he did'nt have the answer he would find it out. His staff is excellent and keeps in close contact with you during and after the surgery. Thank you Dr. Nagle for giving me my re-incarnation. I look forward to seeing you at my next appointment. Your number 1 fan...Kathy V. :)

2 weeks out, I feel comfortable reviewing my surgeon. Dr. Nagle was really great. IT was a bit hectic going in to surgery, as I understand he had to tend to another patient beforehand so I didn't get a chance to speak with him prior to. But his residents and fellow docs were all great.rnrnAs for the actual surgery, everything went perfectly. No complications, small incisions, and he popped in everyday to make sure I was ok. I left the hospital in 2 days, and have never had any complications.rnrnI'll be honest, I didn't see a lot of him. That is ok, I kind of figured this is how it would work going to a big hospital like Northwestern is. I wanted the best care and I feel like I got it.

I think Dr. Nagle is a wonderful, caring doctor. I initially met Dr. Nagle in December of 2005 for my evaluation for RNY. I found during my pre-op tests that I had iron deficiency and later it was discovered that I had colon cancer. Dr. Nagle informed me that he was unable to do the RNY due to the cancer. Dr. Nagle performed my colectomy in May of 2006 and he took such great care of me, that I know that when I do have the RNY, I will be in good hands. He is just great.rnrnWell, I finally had my surgery on July 30, 2007. My surgery went very well. Dr. Nagle and his staff did a wonderful job taking care of me.rnrnQ: What was your first impression of him? A: Very professional, caring doctor and very informative. Q: How did your impression change over time? A: It has not change. Q: How would you describe his office staff? A: Just as professional and caring as he is. Q: What should future patients know about him? A: Dr. Nagle will take the time to explain the whole procedure to you, will answer all of your questions and will make sure you understand everything that will take place as well as the risks involved. Q: How much does he emphasize aftercare? A: Dr. Nagle strongly encourages aftercare. Q: Does he have a structured aftercare program? A: Yes, Dr. Nagle encourages your continuance with the Wellness Center, it is very important as well as the support groups. Q: How did he address the risks of surgery? A: Honestly and openly. He did not surgar-coat anything. Q: How would you rate him overall? A: Dr. Nagle gives you 110% of his time, and you can't ask for more than that. As I have said before, I think he is just great as well as the whole office. Q: Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? A: Both

I felt very confident with Dr. Nagle. He spent a lot of time answering questions from both my husband and I. Explained everything very thoroughly.

I feel that Dr. Nagle was a very good surgeon. His staff is a little hard to get ahold of on the phone. But he is a very good doctor. He answered all questions I had and had a very up beat attitude.

From the first time I met Dr. Nagle, he did make me feel like another fat girl going in for a quick fix. He was careful to show me all options and make sure that I was fully aware of what changes I could expect. He has always made me feel comfortable and safe. My impressions of him never changed over time. He was friendly, smart, and helpful. He works well to make sure my needs are met, recognizes any concerns I might have and meets my worries with absolute calmness. He has great surgical competence and his bedside manner is even better. I had absolutely no complications from my surgery and my life has completely changed for the better, thanks to Dr. Nagle.

Very professional, confident, great sense of humor, understanding, explained the surgery very well.

Office staff was very good but one assistant (Mike Hall RN) of Dr. Nagle's didn't return a phone call and "forgot" to make my post op follow-up appt with his computer system, even though I had a written confirmation. The Dr's office got me in that day but I had to wait for over an hour. Dr. Nagle gave up his lunch that day to see me and remove my staples.

Dr. Nagle's medical team consisting of other Dr's and Residents and med students were fantastic. Especially Dr. Venema who I asked to remove my JP drain and my staples.

Dr. Nagle was fine with my picture taking process to document my journey and very patient with my questions and concerns.

Both surgical expertise and bedside manner were impeccable. I want a strong, confident surgeon as the Dr has my life in his/her hands.
