Dr. McDaniel is an excellent, smart, kind and understanding doctor He totally understanding, kind and Listerns to your problems. I saw another Surgeon before him. Who wanted to me to lose 80 pounds before. He would even think of doing the surgery. After seeing this doctor for almost two years and having to do all my paper work twice including my six month diet twice. Because, They lost the paper work. After losing 55 pounds and My doctor would not discussed surgery date until I lost the rest of the weight. So,I was at a point where felt hopeless. Thinking I would never lose the weight.
I went visit to Doctor McDaniels. I explained all my problems and He listerned. Just told him. I told him I was tired of waiting. If could lose eighty pounds without the surgery. I would. He told me mostly the other doctor was putoff because, I was a Medicare patient.
Dr. McDaniel did not care. His office people went to work right away and got me my appointments. I needed. I had surgery within a month without a problem or worries. It was easy. HW:395 SW:345, CW 205 pounds. I am losing more every day. I feel that Dr. McDaniel did more just do surgery on me. He saved my life.

Dr. McDaniel is very professional yet very friendly and approachable. His office staff is great, especially his PA. He has a great set up starting with the meetings you have with the counselor and dietitician. The hospital is set up very well for bariatric patients and their families. They have nice, new, big rooms with a place for your support person to sleep while you are there. I would say his bedside manner and surgical competence are equally great. I really can't think of anything negative to say.

My first impression of Dr McDaniel was Damn...he is young and good looking. That impression has not changed. He is very professional and experienced at what he is doing. I feel very blessed that I was able to have him as my surgeon. The office staff (Victoria) is extremely friendly and helpful. I am very glad that Dr McDaniel has an office here in Corpus Christi but I do wish he had the size of staff here as he does in Victoria. Waiting period in the Corpus office is lengthy. After care is very important and this was imparted to me well before surgery. Risks were discussed just as well as the risks of other surgeries that I have obtained. On a scale of one to ten I would rate Dr McDaniel an eleven. I can't choose between his surgical competence or bedside manner because they are both great.

My surgeon was great. His staff is always very helpful. Dr. McDaniel has a very structured program for helping with the before and after. I am a little over a week past surgery and feel great.

Dr. McDaniel was thorough and professional from the very first minute we met. My surgery went without a hitch and I had so little pain I didn't even need the morphine pump n the hospital. He's quick to respond to any questions and his staff is unfailingly kind and helpful. I have gone from being sick, morbidly obese, and on my way to an early death to now being healthy, fit, and able to accomplish so many more things in life. I made the right decision in having my surgery, and I especially made the right decision in choosing Dr. McDaniel.

When I first walked in he seemed very friendly. Came and introuduced himself and asked me what I was wanting. Listened and gave me advice. First he wanted to know why the sleeve and not the By-pass. I told him that I was not interested. He sujested with my diabetes that the by-pass would be better. I kindly told him that I could get any revision with the sleeve if it did not work and he agreed. Scheduled my surgery. I did not have very many meetings with Dr. MC Daniel. I live in Wisconsin and went to TX for my surgery. I found him on OH and since my home base is in TX I thought I would check him out. I did and liked what I heard and went with it. The office staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. The one thing that I would have like is for him to come and visit in the hospital room. I only ran into him in the hall way once. Was expecting for him to come by at least once. He has the whole package of nutrition staff that is very helpful and tlks with you on aftercare. I wished I lived in Victoria because they have a great aftercare program. Fitness center and support groups. Bedside manner is great but I prefer for the surgeon to know what he is doing. I want to know that he knows what he is doing and informs you of the risk.

My surgeon is wonderful. His staff is great too. They made me feel like I was their only patient. They checked on me several times while I was in the hospital, and make sure I was comfortable.
