I liked him very much.
He has been very informative about the risks and benefits of having the surgery.
His office staff are very professional and friendly.
Him and his nurse Lisa worked with me getting my surgery set up and working with the insurance company. I received all the information to follow after my surgery so that I know what to do at each stage of recovery.

Professional, open, answered questions. Offered good preop information. Reassuring. Took kindly to my concern that he was new at lap bands. Recognized my concern and offered to have another surgeon as proctor during my procedure. I was impressed.
Staff was through. Excited about starting lap band.

Strongly emphasizes aftercare and recovery. Plans to start local bandsters support group.

Compared various types: risks/benefits/complications
Satisfactory after initial consult

This doc is just starting lap bands however doing lap bypass for 3 yrs. This was a concern to me, however staying local would save lots of time and money. Since I will be his first band, another surgeon from Scottsbluff who has been doing band for 3 yrs plus will be there as a proctor. This gave me the push I needed and calmed my fears. I would like to see a lap band surgeon in our area. Great service for many patients to come!

2/11/05 - I met with Dr. Hung and his nurse Lisa on 2/2/05. They are both wonderful so far. Lisa went through all of the pros and cons of having the surgery before Dr. Hung came in to meet my husband and I. Many individuals I have noticed are surprised that Dr. Hung seems so young. To me, that is somewhat of a comfort. He is not fresh out of med school, but he is not so old that he is not up on the knowledge about the surgery. We had many, many questions when we visited with Dr. Hung and Lisa (his nurse). They were very patient with us and answered all of the questions. What really struck me as we asked questions, was that there was no hesitation when answering. I am sure we did not have any questions that they have not heard before, but they definitely know their stuff. I am very comfortable with choosing Dr. Hung as my surgeon. I am just anxious to get all of the testing done and an approval from the insurance company.

1/20/05 - I have not yet met with Dr. Hung. My first appointment with him is on February 2, 2005. I am very anxious, but his assistant was very empathetic when I spoke with her on the phone and answered all of the questions that I could think of while we were on the phone. Although I am anxious about the first consultation, I am also excited about the possibility of being thin and reducing the risk factors that run in my family and alleviating some of the problems I currently have due to my weight.

I felt very secure about Dr. Hung and his nurse. Although both of them are beautiful people on the outside and have never had the unfortunate situation of being fat they both seemed very nice and understanding. They were great at explaining things and letting me know just where they thought things were going for me. They were very upfront about the costs and the Pre-operative as well as Post-operative things I would be required to do.
I am currently in the process of doing my pre-op requirements to get them out of the way.
I think Dr. Hung and his nurse are surgically competent. I cannot yet rate the bedside manner.

Dr. Hung did a very good job and was very responsive to my needs. First impression was he is really young! The staff in his office are kind and get excited when you do well. I got reports about him from other patients who had their surgery done by him and they all did very well afterward. They have pre and post-surgerical support groups that are interesting and helpful. The before and aftercare compare to what I had with my gastoplasty in 1981 is incredible. There was no real obesity help at that time other than weight watchers or TOPS. The risks of the surgery were explained to me and he told me that I would be more difficult because of my gastroplasty. All I knew is that I would die at a younger age if I didn't have the surgery. I was determined because the insurance company did not make it easy. I would rather have a surgeon who was competent but Dr. Hung has a good bedside manner as well. He covers all the bases.

Dr. Hung is a genuine, approachable, physician who is respectful of individuals and open to questions. He did my husbands surgery 2 years ago & we both like him. I have had direct contact with several of his patients and have never heard a bad word from them. He is also respected by other medical professionals and staff at local hospitals. He has monthly pre- & post-op support groups and takes care to ensure that patients are well educated regarding the potential complications and downside of weight loss surgery as well as the benefits. He and his staff emphasize the importance and need for aftercare.

Though he is a young surgeon, I rate him well in terms of both his surgical competence and his bedside manner. He does standard RNY surgeries (open & lap).

Dr.
Hung is very easy to talk to and the staff very good with your care and follow up. I have had alot of problems with the surgery and needed a little better support system with the DR. office. He tell you that he gives you a tool to use as you will. If you follow the program it work but like anything else you have to follow the program to make it work! He is very straight forward with telling you the risks of surgery. I would give him a good rating for now!! Both skills and competence and bedside manner are good!!

Dr Benjamin Hung is a wonderful Surgeon. He performed my RNY Lap. I was his tenth patient that he has done the Lap procedure on.

His staff are the nicest people to work with. They are very informative. I recommend Dr. Hung and his staff to everyone.

I was terribly nervous to be meeting a new doctor. His nurse, Lisa, is a gem and I really hope he knows it. My first impression of Dr. Hung, was that he liked what he was doing and knew how important this decision was to me. I felt like he was NOT being condensending and that he listened to what I had to say. I have not been approved for my surgery but his staff as well as he, all treated me with respect. (I had only seen his nurse one time and she knew exactly who I was when she saw me at a support group meeting!!) The only thing that surprized me was how young he was. Pro or con? I haven't decided. :)

Dr. Hung seems very subdued and professional. Both he and Lisa were excellent about answering any questions while at the office as well as questions that we had later and called in. Dr. Hung very precise in all of his care. He was extremely calming to my wife while I was in the hospital. Lisa went above and beyond the call of duty in answering all of our questions and getting everything arranged with the insurance company. They even pushed everything ahead when we found out that our insurance was switching over to a company that notoriously does not cover this surgery. Dr. Hung was recommended to us by another doctor as well as a friend and I would recommend him to anyone else in a heartbeat. I can honestly say that there isn't anything poor I can say about him.
