C. Gary Cooper Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Yes, He was wonderful!!! HE was very informative, straight and to the point. But, explained,"let me do my job and you do what I ask of you and everything will have a good outcome" Well I'm 1/12 weeks post op now and I have to tell you everything went as smooth and easy as possible. He was caring and I always new he was doing everything he could in my best interest. Diane and Nicole were as I tell them. "his angels" You could not have 2 more caring and professional people working with you . Pre-op.. post-op. I had referred several patients to him before and knew this was the only place for me.I would highly recommend him!!! On a scale of 1-10 I would rate him a 25!!

Dr. Cooper was great! I was told that after my surgery he had retired, but...guess I was wrong from talking to someone who is scheduling for surgery and from seeing the others who have had surgery! He is straight forward and tells it like it is. Great sense of dry humor. I enjoyed him as a person and respect him highly as a doctor and would recommend him to anyone having an Open RNY.

Dr. Cooper is wonderful!!!! So is his receptionist Diane! We hit it off right from the start. He is a hunter and fisherman and had alot in common with my husband.
Dr Cooper is straight foreward and to the point, very matter a fact. He doesnt beat around the bush and I like that. I really had no questions when I left and he told me info that I would have never thought about. He said he is giving me a tool and what I choose to do with it will determine my sucess. I am 100% confident in his surgical competence and for his bedside manner, he reminded me of my husbands Uncles. He made me feel very comfortable. I couldnt have found a better Dr.

i WOULD NOT GO TO ANYONE ELSE, HE RUNS A VERY TIGHT SHIP, AN IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THATS . GOING TO SURGAR COAT EVERYTHING, HE IS NOT YOUR MAN. bUT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TRUST WITH YOUR LIFE GO FOR THIS SURGEON. hIS STAFF IS TOP NOTCHAN WILL BEND OVER BACKWARD TO HELP AN MAKE YOU FEAL COMFORTABLE

First impression: Confident and to the point.
Office staff: Could not be better, knowledgeable, caring, prompt and great follow through.
Aftercare and program: Surgery success depends on following the program of aftercare Dr. Cooper prescribes.
Dr. Cooper strongly emphasizes the need to follow his protocol specifically as he has it laid out or the possibility of failure may occur as well as severe heal risks.
Risks of surgery: Dr. Cooper thoroughly explained the entire procedure, risks, healing process and the possibility of complications after surgery.
To date, overall rating of Dr. Cooper would be positive. My understanding is his surgical competence is excellent and bedside manner becomes more personal with the frequency of seeing him.
Dr. Cooper gave me time to ask as many questions as needed. During the consultation, he did answer most all of my questions. I had also done a tremendous amount of research prior to the appointment.
After only one meeting in his office, it is truly hard to state anything more than this is a man who provided all the information he feels necessary for one to make a decision regarding a life altering procedure.

My first impression was that he was very sober and no sense of humor. But as time passed and we got to know each other this changed. He can be very funny at times.
His office staff is very helpful and friendly. After the second visit we were on first name basis.
His bedside manner was kind of brusk.
Don't rely on your first impression. His attitude changes as you get to know him. He goes into detail about your surgery.
He is very keen on aftercare. Explains the steps of progress you will be going through.
Doesn't have a structured aftercare program that I know of.
Explained the risks of surgery in detail.
I would rate him very good and would not hesitate to use him again.
I think surgical competence comes first. His bedside manner could be improved.
Of couse your impression might be entirely different from mine. No two people view things the same way.

Dr. Cooper was very nice, but business like.
Overtime he warmed up a lot, and showed a nice sense of humor.
His staff, Diane, is very nice and so informative and helpful.
Dr Cooper emphasizes aftercare as most important. He gives you a booklet and tells you to follow it.
Dr. Copper gives you a page listing the risks of surgery.
I would rate Dr. Copper as a great surgeon and very caring.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop a few lines and tell you that I met Dr. Cooper yesterday (04/07/03). I found him to be full of knowledge. I was scared at first but he explained everything to me in detail that I left his office feeling 100% better. I found him to be very professional and his office staff was great too. He does stress aftercare very highly as if you don't take care of yourself you will have complications.I am now on the waiting game with my insurance company though I am told it can take only 7 to 10 business days. They only thing I was surprised about was the removal of my gall bladder but no worries at all. Well I will update as soon as I get my approvel and if anyone is seeking care for Dr. Cooper I would highly recommend him. Ta Ta for now!

My first impression of Dr. Cooper was that he was very quiet .After we started my appointment he gave me all the facts about the sugery. He made me laugh and could tell that I was nervous. His office staff (Diann) is gerat she is always kind and patient with all the questions that I have. There was nothing that I didn't like about Dr.cooper.

Well i actually just met Dr. Cooper yesterday. He wasn't exactly what I was expecting, even though I had read what others thought of him on here. He was slightly older than I expected, and a little nicer haha. My mom went in with me, and he even kind of joked with her asking her if she was my sister :) that really went over well with her! The office staff has been nice so far, although I haven't really delt with them very much yet. Future patients should probably go in knowing that at first he is very direct and to the point, but after a while he softens. He is very strict on what has to be done before, during and after surgery. And this was just my first visit! So be prepared for that too. He definately mentioned all the risks of surgery, but he also made it clear the actual percentage rate of how often it happens, which made me feel better. Over all on a scale of 1-10 I would rate him a solid 8. He seems very competent in surgical competence AND bedside manner.
