I had met Dr. Lindsay before. She is very nice and explained the surgery completely. I was told if I had any question to just call and they would answer them. She also referred me to this website. Her office got my approval very quickly. I saw her on 12/10/02. Got the call I was approved on 12/27/02 and was scheduled for surgery for
2-6-03. Considering the time I see other people wait, I feel that this is great service.

I was both nervous and excited on my initial visit with Dr Lindsay. Dr Lindsay had performed surgery on my cousin a couple years back and was highly recommended by her. The difference in my cousin's weight is amazing and I knew I wanted to be next! Dr Lindsay was so nice but very informative and made me feel very relaxed. Her staff has been very helpful on trying to get me approved...even though my employer changed insurance providers mid-stream on us. Dr Lindsay makes sure that you realize what you are looking forward to and makes sure you realize this surgery is a tool, not to mention that you know this changes your diet forever. I am anxiously waiting my surgery date. My cousin is at goal weight and just got back from a cruise! I am not crazy about going on a cruise, but I am ready to be healthy enough to do other things. Although I had been researching WLS for awhile, I feel like I left Dr Lindsay's office informed.

Dr. Lindsay is a very straight forward person. At our first meeting she explained the surgery in detail. I asked about the different types of wl surgery and she explained each one in detail. She said that she only performed the rny and she explained why. A few months after my initial consult with Dr. Lindsay, my ob/gyn diagnosed an incisional hernia from a c-section I had in April of 2001. I called Dr. Lindsay's office and set up an appointment with her to discuss the repair. I felt that I would be more comfortable with a surgeon who was familiar with the anatomy of the obese person. She said she would perform the surgery, but would prefer to wait until after my wls. In her experience the hernia repair is more successful after most of the weight has been lost. She even suggested we might to the hernia repair & a tt at the same time. I underwent gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Lindsay on July 8, 2002. I had an uneventful surgery with no complications. I think she is a wonderful surgeon and I would reccomend her to anyone. She is a very dedicated doctor who seems to genuinely care for her patients. Ocassionally she runs late for an appointment, but I think this is a small price to pay. I wouldn't want a doctor who would rush through a surgery or her hospital rounds just to make sure she was on time getting back to the office. I trust her completely and I truly enjoy her "bed-side manor". I have never felt rushed at an appointment, regardless of how busy she is. She is equally as caring with pre-ops as she is with her post-op patients.

MY SURGEON IS DR. DANA LYNDSEY, FROM FRANKLIN INDIANA. DR. LYNSEY IS A VERY NICE, DOWN TO EARTH SORT OF PERSON. SHE DIDN'T MAKE ME FEEL LIKE SHE WAS BETTER THAN ME. I WAS NOT PUT OFF BY HER IN ANYWAY. I FEEL LIKE SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING AND SHE EXPLAINS HERSELF VERY WELL. SHE BROUGHT IN A PAPER AND PEN AND DREW ME A PICTURE OF WHAT SHE WILL BE DOING. I GUESS SOME PEOPLE NEED FOR YOU TO DRAW THEM A PICTURE. (HAHA) I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. SHE EXPLAINED THAT SHE WILL DO ALL THE PRE-OP TESTING SHE THINKS YOU WILL NEED, BUT DOESN'T GO OVERBOARD AND DO THINGS THAT ARE NOT NECESSARY AND THAT ARE COSTLY. SHE ENCOURAGED ME TO ATTEND A SUPPORT GROUP MEETING THAT THE HOSPITAL THERE IN FRANKLIN HAS. I HAVE SINCE BEEN TO A FEW MEETINGS. I THINK IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GO TO THESE MEETINGS IN THE BEGINNING OF YOUR JOURNEY. DR. LYNDSEY HAS TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF ME SINCE THE SURGERY AND I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT HER. SHE IS A VERY NICE PERSON THAT IS SO EASY TO TALK WITH, THIS REALLY HELPS WHEN AFTER THE SURGERY, YOU ARE GOING THROUGH DEPRESSION AND THE UPS AND DOWNS OF LIFE, IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A SURGEON THAT UNDERSTANDS AND IS THERE FOR YOU. I HAVE RECOMMENDED DR. LYNDSEY TO SEVERAL PEOPLE.

My first impression of Dr.Lindsay was ...she is wonderful. Dr.Lindsay made me feel right at home. She is very funny and down to earth. She was very informative about the surgery and she answered all of my questions that I had and I had a whole page full, and she answered every last one of them. I just met with her 2 weeks ago and it is now 7-9-02 so I will see how her bedside manner is after my surgery on the 1 of Aug. God bless Dr.Lindsay because I trust her with my life.......

I decided to have my bariatric surgery at this facility after watching her and her patients for almost a year. As a nurse, I was not only concerned with how her patients did immediately post-op, but what kind of problems they needed to be readmitted for later. I also got to see how her other surgical patients did. I liked what I saw, she is very involved with her patients, very protective of them, and takes the time to answer all their questions. I asked around to nurse friends and acquaintances about other bariatric surgeons/hospitals in the area, and I was convinced that Dr. Lindsay and the hospital where she practices to be the best choice for me. I was also impressed that she had taken the time to ensure her patients care on the floor by nursing staff by requiring that staff see a video about bariatric patients, and her insistance to nursing management that only regular staff be allowed to care for these patients. This eliminates very many problems with care that only healthcare professionals can really appreciate.

Dana Linday was everything everyone told me about her. She sat down and let me answer questions right off the bat. Then she explained everything to me. She is a very caring doctor. The day of my appointment was also the day of the support group meeting. She was there and she was just like one of us. She answered all our questions and applauded for everyone. She is super!!

Dr. Lindsay is bright, compassionate and very upbeat. She understands that obesity is a disease that needs intervention to return to a healthy life.
She has developed a structured program enlisting a specific dietician, a visit to the support group that meets monthly, and an offer of a mentor before you attend your consultation.
Dr. Lindsay was very thorough on the risks and benefits of the surgery. She discussed a lap procedure and the open in case there was a complication and an she needed to convert to open. She covered pre-op, surgery, and post-op all in the consultation appt.
Surgery went beautifully and I was out in two days. She made herself available to me 24/7 and that is quite a comfort to someone post-op.
Dr. Lindsay is very supportive and plesant to work with and I based on my experience would highly recommend her in this very stressful situation.

She is a very wise and is a very caring person. My first impression is the same now as it was then. Her staff is very helpful too. She understands how we feel about being overweight. She knows the danger and what the long term effects are with and without surgery. I trust her completely. She will be caring for me in months to come to make sure I'm getting the proper nutrition I need to survive post-op. She told me all the risks that come with major surgery and I understand them and still want to have the surgery. I would rate her a # 10 on a scale of 1-10. I have not had the surgery yet, but she was great in the consultation. I can't wait to have surgery. I know I will be in competent hands. Thanks Dr. Lindsay.

Dr Lindsay is a very upbeat, friendly person. She called me personally to get my permission to do the laproscopic procedure rather than the open RNY. That really impressed me. She mailed me the brochure of the lap procedure which answered a lot of questions I had. I think the thing I disliked about her was that she was very "stern" about the fact that I needed to quit smoking 7 days before surgery. She told me she would be able to check and see if I did that. Once she checked with my Pulmonologist she didn't mention it again. I didn't like that attitude, but she was right. I didn't stop the process of the surgery, but took extra time to really think this surgery through. She has a great staff. Ready to answer any questions I have had. They took care of my insurance without help from me, and called me as soon as the surgery was approved. It only took 2 weeks for approval.
