AFTER READING ABOUT DR. GOODMAN IT WAS NO SURPRISE. HE WAS THE PERSON WHOM I READ ABOUT AND WHOM PEOPLE DESCRIBED ABOUT. HE WAS UNDERSTANDING, ANSWERED EVERY QUESTIONS, BUT MOST OF ALL HE WAS VERY NICE. THE OFFICE STAFF WERE NICE AND HELPFUL.

HE DESCRIBED THE SURGERY STEP BY STEP AND MADE ME AWARE OF ANY RISKS. HE IS GREAT.

Elliot Goodman is fantastic! He has excellent bedside manner, very easy to talk with about any of your concerns. He has a wonderful sense of humor.I have full confidence in Dr. Goodman.I wouldn't trust my life with just anyone! He is an all around nice being,a very kind soul.

Competent, real, didn't talk down to you.

Answered all my questions and concern up front, all of it from pre to post care, no hedging.

Liked him, liked the fact that he was approachable and non judgemental. My primary physician is normally non-judgemental yet had reservations about my needing this -repeatedly told me there was a 3-4 % fatality (not true) and 20% complication (not true) Dr. Goodman does a mini-open procedure which cuts down on complications and has a 1% fatality (I think)

His offices are not convenient but I will follow-up with him as prescribed and seem y primary care for any concerns ASAP.

I think I am a well informed patient, more so than most (worked in this field for over 10 yrs) and I would say he is top-notch or I would not be doing this.

His staff is generally competent though they could be more efficient, but hey it is a hospital. Sometimes felt lost in the shuffle, but I can push with the best of them. AND - if this is what you want or think you may want learn it all and don't be afraid. Remember this Surgeon is approachable with no staff member intervening. How often is that the case? I can never just call my primary either, I leave a message( with full desription-UGH!!) and wait.

Don't care for that, this is a private matter and I like to keep it that! Especially because I want no unsolicited advice or judgements passed.

This was just my experience, hopefully yours will be good too.

Dr goodman was nice ,knowledgeable and informative. Let me tell you, I was very nervous prior to the consultation but after speaking with him. I felt very very comfortable he explained everything that I needed to know about the surgery. he stressed on the fact that this operation is just a tool for weight loss and that the after care should be taking very seriously. Linda was very kind ,very hands on and very professional. I would recommended him to anyone, anyday and anytime. Dr holup is very very good too. I was approved in one day.

My first impression of Goodman was a good feeling he is a nice guy and I am told one of the best, His staff is also very kind. He is so busy that i was hurt he could't give me his all but there are a lot of people who need this done so I understand I am just spoiled ha ha. I realized soon after how busy he is and how many people truly need him. His office can go from 2- 30 patients in mins. His staff pushes you to attend support group meetings and I think that is wonderful. Desiree his secretary is a doll don't mistake her being for busy for anyhting else then that. She was amazing and calmed me down when i was upset or emotional. You might think U don't need meetings but post op you will so make ur face known now. Goodman was very good in allowing me to know all the risk of the surgey and all the benifits he is very sweet and has the face of an angel.

I will update as time goes on
GOOD LUCK TO U ALL

The first time I had even heard of Dr Goodman was when I was saw a show on the Discovery Health Channel. Dr Goodman was performing a Roux-En-Y on a couple of people and talking about the procedure. I was really impressed with him.
I forgot his name after that, but just accidentally came up on Montefiore-Einstein Medical Center website and viola, there he was! I emailed the hospital to see if I would be a good candidate and a couple of hours later, Dr Goodman called me at home.
He has been very supportive and kind. He also has a Physician's Assitant, Amy, who is also great.
I have still to meet the both of them in person, but I already feel like they are wonderful people.
Dr Goodman let me have my psych eval here in Oklahoma and a Nutritionist from the hospital in the Bronx sent me what I needed for my post-op food allowance.
So far, I am very impressed with everyone I have talked with.

I met with Dr Goodman and he was very kind and concerned. He would also make jokes and laugh which was a great ice breaker. He told me exactly what he was going to do on the next day and what I should expect when I woke up. He also had my mom and I watch a video addressing the risks before we even met him. He also dealt with my mom who was a basketcase. After he finished talking to me he went out into the parking lot and reasssured my mom(she is somewhat of a drama queen).
I am attending aftercare here in Oklahoma, but Dr Goodman is available at all times.
He gave the okay for me to go home so my PCP will take out my staples.
I feel like Dr Goodman's bedside manner and surgical competence are equal. He is very conscientious and makes himself available to his patients at all times.
I would rate him with a 10 plus overall.

My first impression of Dr Goodman was nothing but good. He is a VERY sweet and caring man and you can tell w/in the first 5 minutes of meeting with him. He spent at least an hour with me going over everything. Over time I have come to really have alot of respect and admiration for him. I am so glad I found him. His staff is very nice. Especially Deseree. She kept me sane through this whole journey. Thank you Deseree.
When I started to think seriously about having this surgury..Dr. Goodman was the first Dr I saw. Even though I had made my decision when walking out of his office I had to explore my other options. No one else even came close to the understanding, support and caring ways of Dr. Goodman. I really cannot say anything negative about my experience. He is wonderful.

Dr. Goodman was excellent. He is friendly, honest, and an excellent craftsman (pardon the pun). I would go to him again without reservation, but I would not receive care at Montefiore. My pain control post-op was, in my eyes and in my experience, reprehensible.

Dr. Goodman and his staff are terrific. They were both very knowledgable and very compassionate. All my questions were answered and my concerns were addressed. They were also very clear on making sure that I understood the surgical procedure itself as well as the risks. I would definitely give him an overall rating of 10+.
