Dr. Teng is a wonderful doctor, however I would suggest taking your business to another doctor as the billing dept. told me that there was no co pay, then latter sent me a bill for over $1,000.00 as they then stated that the insurance company no longer covered services; then sent me to collections after trying to mediate the claim between Dr. Teng's office and the insurance company for over a year. I would not trust anyone regarding billing and check before going to Dr. Teng.

I have a fantastic experience being under the care of Dr. Teng and his staff. He really is the best. I would recommend him for anyone considering bariatric surgery. He is very knowledgeable and really has his patient's best interest at heart. The support group is also pretty amazing. I feel well taken care of and in good hands in this long and difficult journey.

Dr. Teng is a great surgeon. My sister and my daughter's preschool teacher both had WLS from him, so he came highly recommended. He is well respected in the medical community.rnrnHe is straightforward and honest. I have hard that he does not mince his words if one is not doing what one should be doing after surgery--I have not yet experienced that. rnrnHis office staff are very nice. His sister is a nurse in his office. His brother is his anesthesiologist.rnrnDr. Teng has monthly support meetings at Mountainview Hospital. He recommends going to the support meetings. He is at each of the meetings.rnrnPersonally, I researched a lot about WLS before I had it done. The doctor informs you of the risks and all, but I knew about it coming in.rnrnI Highly recommend Dr. Teng.

Dr. Teng is the absolute best surgeon. He has great credentials and the most thorough surgeon I have ever met. He is the only surgeon in town that has a structured aftercare program I have seen. There are different topics each month. Overall, he is compassionate of all his patients. The staff was very helpful and friendly. For all of the those patients out there, make sure you find out the outcomes of the doctors you are seeking and whether or not they have a support system. Support is very vital in a comprehensive program. I can't say enough about Dr. Teng.

Dr. Teng is tremendous! He did my husband's gastric bypass, and I didn't hesitate to go to him for my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. He takes time with his patients, is very knowledgable and his staff is well prepared and helpful, as well. He has a wonderful support program for both pre and post surgery, in which you are encouraged to participate. Nothing is left to chance - you have complete support at all times. He's an excellent surgeon, paying extra attention to details and taking time to do it right. His team is close knit, they do all surgeries together and have for a long time. They are very friendly and top notch. I'd rate Dr. Teng at the very top of his field. I'd go to him even if he didn't have a terrific bedside manner - which he does.

I just met with Dr. Teng this past week. I just have to say that he is the coolest! I had met him previously, as I am an RN and have taken care of many of his med/surg patients. I have always liked the way that he treats people, patients and staff alike. My first impression of Dr. Teng was that he is young (but not too young), intelligent, compassionate, and that he exudes confidence. I found that with his office staff, some staff are more friendly than others, but that they all seem to be very efficient. Probably, the thing that I like least about Dr. Teng is also one of the things that makes him such an excellent doctor. He is very straight forward. He makes sure that you are fully aware of all the risks and lifestyle changes you are in for. He doesn't candy coat anything. He's not at all like a salesman trying to sell a product. If I hadn't walked in for my consultation knowing as much as I did already, he might have scared me off from having the surgery. He really made me think about the fact that this surgery is not a \"cure all\" and that with my poor eating habits, I will still have a lot of work to do in modifying my behavior after surgery and for the rest of my life. Over all, I'd rate Dr. Teng a 10 out of 10. A+++rnHe's got a fabulous bedside manner and makes you feel really comfortable from the get go. As a RN, I've taken care of many of his patients in the past and also know a few people in the health care industry who have had their gastric bypass surgeries done by him. I have the utmost confidence in his abilities as a surgeon and I would, and will be trusting him with my life.

Dr. Teng is extremely informative and thorough!!rnI always say it's \"Teng's way or NO WAY!!!\". He starts off by telling every patient that they must be committed to his program or they can find a different surgeon.I have heard a few patients say that they feel like he's talking down to them. He's very adamant on how things will be done. He's one awesome surgeon!!rnGoing for my last appointment next Weds. and he warned me that he will be giving me a test(routine). He'll be asking about RNY and if he feels I don't have a total understanding he won't hesitate to push back surgery date! Last chance to weigh in(I've lost quite a bit this last month)any patient who hasn't lost at least 5% weight WILL GET their surgery delayed until they have! He's tough but he tells everyone that you're committed to HIS program the first 2 years post op.rnHis brother Dr.V.Teng is anesthesiologist on all of his cases.rnTheir sister,Tina, is an RN who runs their hectic office!rnHis asst. surgeon Dr. B. Hanna is a friend of mine who has been trying to get me in the OR for 3 years! When Tina called me and said I was approved;I called Bernie and said \"You and I have a date on Dec 6th\" He was excited as I was.rnDr Teng's program is intense and requires commitment but he tells patients that on their very first visit. He does 2 hour seminar/month for people looking into surgery. Every patient must attend his seminar first. He and Dr. Hanna hold the monthly support meetings. He is VERY involved with every aspect. Like I said earlier...\"It's Teng's way or no way!!!\"

My entire experience with Dr. Teng and his staff could not have been more positive. They were friendly and approachable, but also very honest.rnrnMy surgery and hospital stay were as close to painless as you can have. The staff at Mountain View Hospital were great.rnrnDr. Teng has the perfect combo of realistic expectations and kind bedside manner.rnrnHe made sure I went thru all the proper hoops to get this done. (nutrition, psych, etc) I was a cash patient, so I'm sure he could of skipped some of those steps and didn't.rnrnOn a scale of 1 to 10, I would give him an 11. It was only because I felt so confident in him as a surgeon and a person that I decided to move forward with this truly life saving procedure.rnrnGod Bless Dr. Teng and Tina!
