Francis W. Teng Bariatric Surgeon

Dr Teng seems straight and to the point.I've only seen him once in office as I think he was in doubt that my insurance would approve due to chronic pain alone....however; they did approve...probably due in part to Dr. Teng speaking directly to the insurance physicians (they called him)
Also, The girls on his staff (Genny, Tina and everyone else...I'm not good with names) are the absolute best. They worked very hard and diligently to help get insurance approval. I hope Dr. knows what gems he has working with him. They are the best. Very professional and sweet. They definetly know thier stuff! They deserve a good raise! ;)
I'm under the impression that Dr.Teng is very strict in regards to following his diet instructions and aftercare to the "T"
From my research he is an excellent surgeon.(I personally know a few physicians...they highly recommended Dr. Teng) I compared all the Vegas surgeons....He is more desirable,professional,competent in my opinion.

My first impression was very positive. He gave a good seminar, I've been to several so I was able to compare. He was very down-to-earth and real. He did not have the "god complex" I've noticed in other surgeons.

I was able to talk to a couple patients of his and they were very eager to recommend him. They say he is very tough and expects his patients to make the changes and work with the plan. He requires a two-year signed contract for testing and follow-ups.

I will know more after I meet him one-on-one.

Mr. First impression of Dr. Teng was he was nice but very serious and very tuff.

He was doing this to save lives not to play around and do the surgery becasue of cosmetically changing your look.

His office staff was SUPERIOR, EXCELLENT and very loving, caring, funny and supportive.

That it is serious surgery and to take it as such, do not do this for cosmetic reasons but to save your health.

Aftercare was follow my guidelines and menu and you will be fine, overeat and you could die.

Aftercare program is done before surgery with a nutrionist that is there before and after.

Risk of surgery very throughly addressed, no games no gimmicks no promises.

Dr.Teng and his staff are EXCELLENT

Surgical competence and experience.

Dr. Teng is a great doctor who cares about his patients. He has a great bedside manner and knows each patient by name and history, instead of being "just a number". His staff is extremely supportive and helpful in getting all the proper documentation submitted to the insurance and following up daily until you're approved! I highly recommend Dr. Teng and his staff.

Dr Teng is a GREAT Doctor, I would recommend him to anyone, I work in the hospital where he does the surgeries and also where I had my surgery and any nurse, doctor, dietcian I talked to, they ALL told me he was great and I would be fine, his post op complications are so far ZIP. He was recently voted #1 surgeon in Las Vegas Life Magazine. He is compassionate and obese friendly, he truly cares what happens to you. My surgery went great and I'm on the road to recovery with no complications thanks to Dr. Teng! =)

I had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Teng for some time, he operated on my ex-husband and I knew of Dr. Teng from his reputation at Mt. View hospital as a very caring, extremely up-front and honest, and very cautious Dr. He truely cares for each of his patients and gets to know them personally and emotionally. He will get on you if you don't follow instructions, he gives you his undivided attention and concern, and his staff always checks up and keeps in touch with your progress. I highly recommend Dr. Teng for any surgery, but especially RNY laproscopic surgery.

I had my first preop appointment on 2/4/03 with Francis Teng in Las Vegas. I was extremely impressed. He spent an entire 45 minutes with me explaining the surgery, the side effects, etc..
My experience with his office staff thus far has been outstanding. They are friendly and most importantly efficient. Dr. Teng explained that he does have an aftercare program and stressed the necessity to be very committed to aftercare. I have since also had my nutritional consult and psychiatric assessment, both of wich went really, really well. I have a few more test to get completed and then we will submit to my insurance company. I am anxious to see if I am able to get approved as my BMI is on the low side of the limit (35.5); however I have many comorbids, including insulin dependent diabetes for 10 years now, so hope this will be the factor they really look at. Time will tell.
