My first impression was very good. He is very knowlegable and has been doing this type of surgery since the 1970's. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped me through the whole insurance process and we always available. Dr.Pearce is developing a good program for Gastric Bypass surgery. He offers an intense seminar at the beginning of the process with general information. He is very thorough with the preliminary testing. The aftercare program needs a little help. I was given a packet about what to do but would like to have spent some time with a nutritionist in the hospital or immediate post surgery. I would give Dr. Pearce and his staff a very high rating and would highly recommend them to anyone.

He is a kind, caring man. Very professional and knows what he is doing. The staff has always been helpful. Did a wonderful job with my surgery. Overall, I think he is the best in the state, which is why I chose him.

I really like Dr. Pearce and his office. They are such nice people. They all make me feel so comfortable there. They go out of their way to make me happy. Melinda did such a great job calling my insurance until she got a reponse. persitansy is good. I think that Dr. Pearce is shucha down to earth guy and he is so personable. He just sat down and talked to my mom and i the day day of our consult. He did not rush us or anything. A++ for Dr. Pearce and his office staff.

As of right now I haven't met him but have researched him and others and have decided on him. He has been licensed here in Oklahoma since 1964 and is in good standing with the State board of licensure with no disciplinary (sp?) actions taken on him. I feel I have made a good choice. *Update*I finally met my surgeon at the WLS seminar. He is very nice and listens very well to you and is very informative. I had my consult and Dr. Pearce sat next to me for 1 1/2 hours answered 4 pages of questions and NEVER rushed me. I've heard nothing but good things ever. He is the right surgeon.

I was impressed with Dr. Pearce from the first time I met him in 1978 when he was my brother's surgeon after he had a very severe accident and had to be put back together. Henry Pearce has sence then worked on two of my sisters, my mother, my other brother, my daughter, and me. My daughter and I are the only ones upon whom he performed WLS. He is a kind, caring and considerate man who is highly proficient in his work. Time has only served to reinforce my admiration for him. His office staff is great. They are the best at getting the information the insurance companies need to them quickly. However, the best source for information on what and how much to eat and drink comes from the support groups. The office staff has not experienced the surgery themselves. He encourages us to get involved with a good support group. He gives good aftercare instructions and his staff is good to check with if you forget exactly what he said. He fully informed me of the risks in having the surgery. The aftercare program he had in place for me was regular checkups at which he inspected the incission site and gave me a B12 shot, and answered all my questions. Overall, I would rate him a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are great. He is a wonderful man and it shows in his dedication to his patients wellbeing. The only problem I had was with his staff. I called to find out what to do because I was dehydrating and couldn't seem to get enough water in each day. The staffmember I talked to told me to drink Gatoraide. It has FAR too much sugar. I dumped deluxe.

I felt because he was an older man his age would be to my benefit, experience and time helps make a better doctor in my opinion. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Pearce and his office personnel are really great people. I wished I could have talked to Dr. Pearce more on my office visits but always felt that if I really needed him the nurse or pa would reassure me they would let him know of the problem or would contact him immediately if a serious problem that needed his attention was at hand. I never had any REAL problems, learning to eat the right things and what was best for the space I had in my new pouch, i.e. protein and energy. Dr Pearce came in the office the first visit and explained everthing in detail, asked me if I had any questions and reassured me I was a GOOD candidate for the surgery, not to worry. If I had any concerns before, during and after my surgery, I knew I could always count on Dr Pearce and his office to comfort me and care for my surgical concerns. He advised me of all the risks of the surgery, and I had researched as much as possible on the web, talked to other who had the surgery and attended the seminar which was very informative on the procedure involved. Dr Pearce has led the way in the medical field that will benefit future generations. I did feel Dr Pearce needed more nurses in the office to

Dr. Pearce was very professional.
I Found him to be not only professional but a very caring sincere person.
The staff is very helpful and empathetic.
I guess what I like least is getting to see Dr. Pearce now that he is so busy.
Be sure to bring questions and let him know you have them. He will take the time to answer them if you let him know you have questions.
At first there seems to be some emphasis on aftercare. However I'd like to see more structured aftercare... I think a Dietition and Bahaviorist being available would be a major asset to aftercare. Our support group covers alot but we lack professional info sometimes. Opinions are worth what you pay for them and in support group they are often tooooo free.....
Dr. Pearce outlines the risks and turns it over to you. He helps you to make an informed decision.
I would rate Dr. Pearce
on a scale of 1-10(High) as a 9.15
I believe his surgical skill and bedside manner are both great.....
He is a good Doctor and a good Man....

I feel SO blessed to have such a fine surgeon.

It grew stronger. As I went to support group meetings I kept hearing great things about him. It confirmed in my mind that I had made the best choice for me.

Very helpful and plesant. They are great when it comes time to submit your papers to the insurance comp. If you are denyed, like I was they work even harder to get you approved.

I didn't have enough time to ask all my questions, but was assured they would all be answered at my next appointment.

I believe from what I've been told he is going to retire in the spring. But he has brought in another surgeon, Dr Floyd. From what I've heard in support group everyone that had him are also very happy.
They are active with it. I have 3 post-op office appointments already scheduled. They highly recommend going to support group meetings. I believe that is where you can really learn a lot.

They have improved there aftercare tremendously. They have a whole new wing just for Bariatric surgery.

Dr Pearce is very open about the risks.

10 out 10. The Best !

Both are great from what I've heard. I have not had my surgery yet so I really can't say about his bedside manner.

Extremely important'

I haven't got that far yet, I believe so.

Staight forward, however, he explained his excellent credenitals. He has done almost 6,000 of these surgeries and has lost 13 patients. He stated that those he lost were generally in and "extremely poor, state when he did the surgery".

On a scale of 1-10 he is a 9
