Today, Sept.12th i got to finally meet Dr.EAgon after waiting since April for this appt. He was late as he had to assist in a surgery so an hour and a half later he did come in to talk to me. He filled me in on everything i needed to know and then i asked my questions. Before he came i talked to his nurse Donna who was also very nice and took some more info down to put in my chart. Overall i really like Dr.Eagon and his staff, I dont' feel embarrassed when i was weighed or talked DOWN to like so many people do to fat people. He does both Lap and open rny's but i have to have a OPEN RNY due to past surgeries and he explained all the reasonings for that. He has a very good program and support group before and after surgery. I would reccommend him to anyone that wanted this kind of surgery..he is so popular at this time that he's not taking any new patients till December and it looks like i wont' have surgery till December..now i'm waiting for insurance approval.

Eagon, Christopher (St. Louis, Missouri)

I like him a lot he spent a lot of time with me explaining in detail the surgery.

His nutritionist was very helpful in explaining post-op diet and what to expect. She promised to spend a lot of time with us post-op after surgery.

Dr. Eagon has a support group and a series of post-op visits to follow your progress and to help you with problems and questions.

Dr, Eagon addressed the risks in detail so I felt I was aware, but not afraid, because he was careful to explain ones his patients encountered and how they were resolved. He explained his choice of surgery for me and that he prefers sutures when he makes the pouch in an open procedure. He has 100% no leak record to date. I felt good about that.

I was very comfortable with Dr. Eagon he and his staff had excellent bedside manners and spent plenty of time with us. I talked with other patients before seeing him when I went pre-op and got a good feeling from all of them. Many had made great progress to date without major problems and they were SO Happy!

My first impression of Dr. Eagon was that he was a very understand and informative doctor. I really liked him and my impression of him has never changed. He is always available to me to answer any questions that I might have. His office staff is wonderful. They never made me feel like I was a terrible person for being overweight. He really emphasizes aftercare visits and exercise. I visited him at two weeks, one month, three months, and then I will visit him at six months for blood work. After that I think it is a year. But, as I said before he is always there for me if I need him otherwise. He also works really well with my regular medical physician. He keeps him updated with every visit I have with him. I would rate Dr. Eagon a perfect 10 because he has been my inspiration. I think he had great surgical skills and his associates also came to see me while I was in the hospital if he couldn't make it. He usually visited me in the afternoon while his associates would be there first thing in the morning. Dr. Eagon was great for me but I did check with other surgeons before I decided on him. I know that there are other wonderful and not so wonderful surgeons out there and all I can say is that you definitely have to do your research when you are undergoing such a tremendous surgery.

i think dr. eagon is great! he just exudes confidence. at my 1st visit he spent as much tome talking to me as i needed, and he had a waiting room full of patients. his staff is very nice and willing to do whatever to help. dr. eagon is very adamant about the way you take care of yourself after surgery. he also makes sure you have extensive testing to make sure he knows what to expect during surgery. i never had any problem not addressed by dr. eagon, he answered all questions at length and explained every aspect of the surgery, good and bad. i honestly don't think you could find a better surgeon than dr. eagon.

I really didn't know what to think of Dr. Chris Eagon, because at first I couldn't find out much information about him. I was able to locate a lot of doctors on the internet. However, he wasn't one of them. When I contacted Dr. Eagon, he was very informative as far as details about this surgery. I went to several of the support groups and found out that Dr. Eagon doesn't believe in advertisment of his abilities. I respected that and it realived a lot of my anxieties about him. The members of the support group reassured me that Dr. Eagon went above and beyond their expectations. I really enjoy my support groups. I went to Dr. Eagon's office one time so far, his staff members are very friendly and informative. I have only met Dr. Eagon one time and honestly I haven't found anything negative about him. It is very obvious that his patients who had the surgery support him. I would recommend to anyone who is considering this surgery to go to the support groups and talk to those who have been through this journey. They are awesome people and their results are amazing! Dr. Eagon emphasizes that it is very important to go to your follow up appointments, speak with your dietician, take all vitamins, and continue going to the support groups. Dr. Eagon came straight out and told me that with this surgery there is a risk. However, I feel that the life I am living right now is a risk. After I completed my research on this surgery I felt so confident. I was ready to have this surgery. I was a little disappointed when I called to schedule this surgery that it was going to be a two-month wait. I was so excited to have this surgery that it discouraged me a little. Don't let this discourage you. The time went fast and my date came before I new it! My date is almost here! I am scheduled for surgery on June 20, 2000. I would appreciate all your prayers. God bless you all~! I'll keep you updated! º¿º

Dr. Eagon is a very efficient, professional surgeon, who has a long and good reputation performing this surgery. He and I had a disagreement, somewhat of a communication problem or difficulty, but I decided that I would overlook it since he has such a good reputation, and I have spoken with people here who have had Dr. Eagon as their surgeon and were very pleased. Let's face it, many surgeons don't have the most sociable personalities, but if they are skilled and have a high success rate, that is all that is most important to me. The office staff are very supportive, and the office tries very hard to counsel and tend to the overall needs of a surgery candidate. It is like I said, Dr. Eagon, tom me, is not the most personable doctor, but then that happens a great deal, and I want him on my side with the surgery. I have heard nothing negative about him, and I hear he is the best. A support group is considered important in this program, but it costs $20.00 each time and I have not been able to afford it since I am on disability and unemployed currently. That is disappointing to me, and I am not sure that I agree with this $20.00 fee. The support group will continue to meet, and I hope to be able to attend after the surgery. I believe Dr. Eagon and his staff consider aftercare to be vital to the success of the bariatric surgery patient. I am glad I stuck with Dr. Eagon and explain more after the surgery. He is a caring, concerned doctor and has an impeccable reputation. I am having the laparoscopic R-NY surgery.

Dr. J Chris Eagon of St. Louis is a man of few words.
my first thought of him was that he was shy.

I would let Dr. Eagon operate on my again. What he lacks
in bedside manner is made up for in his expertise. When he was with me he paid full attention
to my needs.

He can be hard to get ahold of. His office staff is nice.
He seems shy.

He is rated # 2 in the country for Bariatric Surgeries

There is a 2wk,6wk,3month, 1yr and 2 year after care visit

yes. One works closely with a dietician to set up a new eating structure

all was explained to me in person and through a booklet that is handed out at the pre-op session

A+

He is a top notch surgeon who perhaps may need a little work on bedside manner

I have met with Dr. Eagon and the staff is the best in the world they make you feel right at home. Barnes in St. Louis is just huge and scared the heck out of me but the valet parking and the fact it is just so easy to get there make me very happy. I have all my tests done and it is now in the surgeons hands.... on pins and needles waiting.

Oh the follow up sound great. They have a support group that meets and the nutritionist is just as active as the sureon in after care. I think that is really important.
