J. Christopher Eagon Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Eagon rocks! He is one of the most caring people there is. I had surgery 4 months ago and I am down 70 lbs and only 50 to go. He really is a great doctor, great manner and his nurse Donna rocks too! Now I agree they do suck at returning calls but they are a really busy office. I would highly recommend him.

I was pleased with most aspects of my pre-op & post-op care. Dr. Eagon & all the associates that I met were professional, compassionate & took time to answer all my questions. There was some delay pre-op due to completed test results not finding their way into my file. A couple follow-up call from me got the ball rolling again. I had a Roux-En-Y on Feb. 1st 2007 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. I felt confident in my surgeons expererience & ability. So far, no real complaints.

He is just a great, caring Dr. Very thourough & takes his time to explain any questions you might have. I never felt rushed with him. Did a SUPER job as did his assistant Dr. Tessie His office staff are great. Only one of them is not a happy person. Everytime I have had to deal with her it was not a pleasant experience. But thankfully I will not have to deal with her in aftercare. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Eagon for Lap Band surgery.

My first impression of Dr Eagon is that he is all about buisness, not much humor. This changed after I saw him in the hospital before and after my surgerywhere we joked and I saw him smiling more. The office staff was very helpful and has always answered my questions and returned calls promptly. The aftercare program is extensive and his followup schedual is good. Dr Eagon is very much straight to the point. He goes over all the risks as well as the benifits of having the surgery. I would and have highly recommended hi to anyone considering WLS.

I had my eval. for surgery in early Feb. I have found this particular surgean and WL Program to be especially good because their screening process is very comprehensive. Dr. Eagon has come very highly recommended. When I first met him he reminded me of Richie Cunningham from Happy Days. He was very kind and soft spoken. But what I liked best was how direct he was about the risks of this proceedure. His nurse Donna is extremely competant and helpful.

My first impression of Dr. Eagon was that he's got a sweet smile and kind of quiet. However, he was highly recommended by numerous physicians in St. Louis (my sister works with a large group of physicians). Also, the nurses that work in that OR strongly recommend him.
He's very thorough and informs you of what to expect. You are put through a screening program with a nutritionist, physical therapist, and psychologist. If you are not approved by them, are not at least 100 lbs. overweight, and have no obesity-related health problems, he will not perform the surgery. I personally have to admire that, as I think too many people have this surgery thinking it's easier than dieting!
He has a fantastic aftercare program. I was very happy with Dr. Eagon and recommend him over other surgeons in the area!

Absolutely wonderful. Sharp as a tack and is able to answer all my questions without laughing at them. Pre-surgery care is good. Post-op in hospital was great and follow-up is great. There's ALWAYS a LONG wait in the office, though. But, once you see him, he'll take all the time he needs to answer questions and examine etc. Wonderful guy!
