My first impression was during a seminar given at his office. At first I found him to be knowledgeable. There was nothing that turned us off. In fact my wife and I both left the seminar and said he was going to be our surgeon. I thought he was very personal, outgoing, clear, and easy to understand. rnThe office staff is great. rnWhat I liked least was the length of the office visits, however my wife and I both had the procedure and our visits were at the same time. This I am sure prolonged each visit. rnFuture patients should know that Dr. Rosen is very easy to understand. He address every concern you may have and has excellent bedside manner. rnDr. Rosen, in my opinion, greatly stresses aftercare. The office staff is detailed in training for the aftercare and offers several avenues for guidance in the after care. rnAll risks were explained in detail. rnI would rate Dr. Rosen very highly. I think he was great. rnBoth his surgical competence and bedside manner were excellent. Our nurse at the hospital told us that Dr. Rosen performs surgeries on occasion for trauma. She said if he can scrape someone off the street and put them back together again then he is a good surgeon to trust for this. I agree!!!

I've been thinking about wls for a few years now. About 3 years ago I went to a seminar in one of those Barix clinics. I felt like I was at a direct sales recruiting seminar. Needless to say, I left there and went back to Weight Watchers for yet another failed attempt. In the next few years I did visit other seminars and was even approved for surgery with another surgeon. A job change for my husband then brought me to the Chicago burbs. I promptly made an appointment with Lifeweigh Bariatrics in Downers Grove, IL. I can't express enough the difference between Lifeweigh and other programs I had attended. First of all, Lifeweigh is not just about \"selling\" wls. They also have non surgical options. Also, the surgical alternatives and risks were explained in detail on the first visit which was an individual appointment. At Lifeweigh you not only meet with the surgeon, but also the dietician, the exercise physiologist, a bariatric nurse and the insurance person on a monthly basis pre op. There are monthly support groups with various topics as well as smaller weekly support groups with a therapist. rnrnI am now two weeks post op RNY. My impression of Dr. Rosen and his staff is even better than when I first met them. Unlike other surgeons, Dr. Rosen lets you know from day one that your success does not depend just on him, but on you and the entire Lifeweigh team. Aftercare is greatly stressed and well structured.rnrnI really don't have anything negative to say. Lifeweigh gets a 10 out of 10 from me. rnrn

Jeffrey Rosen's very first attribute is his warm, friendly smile. I am so very pleased with his surgical work, his professionalism, his sense of humor, and the way he takes the time to truly communicate with you and hear what's on YOUR mind. I think he's put together a fine team of caring professionals and the pre-surgical care I have received was super. While it's only been a bit more than a week, I am finding that post-operative care is every bit the joy of my previous care. I would encourage anyone availing themselves of LifeWeigh Bariatrics and Dr. Rosen, to plan to take the time to be part of the monthly support group meetings which are invaluable. I am blessed to live a scant ten minutes or so from his offices, but I know some folks drive several hours to attend those support groups. He brings in quality speakers and allows YOU a chance to have all your questions asked.rnrnDr. Rosen's surgical competence is first-rate, although he is realistic that no two people necessarily have the same surgical experience. His bedside manner is excellent. He made rounds in the hospital every day I was there (four days) and always stopped in to see me between 6-7:30 a.m. stopping not simply to examine incisions, but to really listen to what was going on with me. rnrnI cannot recommend Dr. Rosen highly enough.rnHe is a FIVE STAR person, not just a FIVE STAR surgeon and medical caregiver!rnrnSorry, I know all positives make this sound less realistic, but frankly, I have absolutely no complaints with Dr. Rosen or his staff.

I first met Dr. Rosen at a lecture he was giving. He was very informative, personable and patient. I say patient because the two friends I brought with me had more questions than all the other people combined. We weren't sure surgery was right for me and we wanted to be sure. My sister went into the lecture firmly against the entire idea and left with the feeling that there was no better option for me. I don't believe this would have happened if Dr. Rosen hadn't been so informative and confident in his answers. Next, I made my appiontment and met with his staff. I met a dietician, physical fitness advisor, nurse, ultrasound technician, etc. They were all there to make sure I properly prepared for the surgery and the LIFESTYLE following the surgery. When finally I met Dr. Rosen again, I found that he was very gentle. Both in his manner and his tone. Not long after that first appointment, there was a regime change at the hospital and Dr. Rosen left. He soon had a practice set-up at a new hospital and we were back in the swing. Dring the transition, his staff kept in touch with me and gave me encouragement. rnrnEverything you learn before the surgery is in preparation for your new life after surgery. Your eating habits and exercise habits are challenged and adjusted. He offers group meetings once a month as well as group therapy sessions.

Dr. Rosen is fantastic. From beginning to end he and all the people at LifeWeigh have been great. The office is very professional, yet comfortable and non-threatening. The entire staff make you feel warm, welcome and confident that every aspect of your weight loss journey is carefully monitored and nothing is overlooked. Like least about Dr. Rosen? Absolutely nothing! What a future patient should know about him is that he is extremely caring and a great surgeon. I admire his intellegence and the talent the good Lord blessed him with. While I was in the hospital various hospital staff would ask me who my surgeon was and when I said, \"Dr. Rosen\" every single time I was told, \"Then you had the best!\" It was obvious to me that he is very admired there.rnAftercare is very emphasized and structured at LifeWeigh. There are monthly support group meetings and even more important, in my opinion, is they offer monthly therapy meetings. Having a new stomach that limits intake is great, but learning about why I overate to begin with is crucial to not falling back into old patterns that would eventually lead to putting the weight back on.rnDr. Rosen was very upfront and complete in his explanation of the risks of the surgery. In addition to his explanations, I watched videos showing an actual surgery and it went into great detail about the various post op issues that could arise. LifeWeigh requires you to bring your support person with you for this part of the educational process so there can be no mistaking exactly what you're getting into. My overall rating of Dr. Rosen and his staff at LifeWeight on a scale of 1 - 10 is a 15! I had full confidence that I was in the very best hands possible and would refer my own child if ever one of my kids needed such a surgery.rnIf I had to choose between surgical competence or bedside manner I would certainly go for the surgical competance. The fact is there was no choice because Dr. Rosen has mega amounts of BOTH!rnThe paragraph below says completely 100% positive reviews are generally less informative or even suspect. Well, I'm sorry to think that is true and I'm not going to try to find something negative just to be \"balanced.\" No part of my experience was negative and that's just the way it is!

My first meeting with my surgeon was at the seminar about the different weight loss solutions. I was instantly at ease. I felt like I was more than a patient - more a member of a family. Each doctor (nutritionist & physiologist) was very helpful and informative. The only downfall was the preop appointments did run long since I was seeing all three doctors each visit. But considering I would have had to make separate appointments to see those specialists elsewhere, it wasn't too bad.rnrn I really felt prepared when it came time for my surgery, and everyone was so incredibly supportive. I was well informed of the potential risks, and was put at ease when Dr. Rosen put into perspective how rare/occasional each risk was. rnrnThey do stress the monthly support groups as well as the threaded discussions on their website as well as OH to help with support and suggestions before and after surgery. I will also be utilizing the fitness program offered at the clinic.rnrnI know it says nobody is perfect, but really, I would rate this practice as a 10 out of 10. They always make themselves available for their patients, and are so very approachable no matter what the question is!

STARTED IN OCT 06 WITH DR BOE, HE WAS GREAT BUT THEN THEY CLOSE THE CLINIC AND HE LEFT TO GO OUT EASTrnrnTHEN I GO WITH DR.MCCLELLAN AND I MEET HER AND THINK SHE IS WONDERFUL BUT BECAUSE OF A CONFLICT I HAD WITH HER STAFF I CHOOSE TO USE ANOTHER DOCTOR.rnrnI AM NOW USING DR ROSEN, I WILL HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM 7-10-07 AND MAYBE FINALLY I CAN GET TO THAT LOOSERS BENCHrnrn7/10/07 HAD MY APPOINTMENT WITH DR ROSEN......I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH HIM AND HIS STAFF! HE IS THOROUGH. WHY DIDN'T I JUST GO THERE TO START WITH? I HAVE WASTED A LOT OF TIME.rnrn10/22/07 HAD MY SURGERY DATE AND STARTED OUT WITH LAP RNY TURNING INTO OPEN RNY.......DR ROSEN HAD PREPARRED ME WELL FOR THE NEW SURGERY I HAD COME OUT WITH SO THERE WERE NO SURPRISES, AND MAYBE A LITTLE DISSAPPOINTMENT. I reside in Indiana but traveled to Illinois to have weight loss surgery performed by Dr. Jeffrey Rosen, June 2006. I am an RN, and believe me, I researched weight loss surgery and various surgeons who specialize in bariatrics prior to my decision. I chose Dr Rosen based on his excellent skills, credentials, and he was highly recommended. Dr Rosen is very caring, and the program he developed for before and after care is superior. His staff is fantastic; highly educated, supportive and compassionate. I have not had any negative experiences, and no complications. I wouldn't recommend any other weight loss surgeon; and guess what...he now also has an office in MERRILLVILLE, INDIANA

I wouldn't trade my Surgeon for nothing, I don't know what I will do if he ever decides to retire, I trust him with my life.rnDr Rosen is very thorough and follows things to a \"T\" I feel totally safe with him and his staff, they are very personal and there when ever I need them no matter how silly I am.
