Dr. Champion is Amazing! He and his staff are professional, personable, and Extremely Caring! I couldn't have imagined a better experience. The only not wonderful thing I have to say about him is that he retired 2 months after my surgery and cannot do my follow up care. I will miss seeing him and talking to him. I hope that his retirement is Awesome!

My First impression of Dr. Champion was Great. I had read about him from other patients and everything I read was true about him. He is a wonderful doctor and he is all about business and that is taking care of you. His office staff is just wonderful. They are all personable and friendly. When they talk with you they speak as if they have known you for years. I am just waiting to be approved by my insurance office.

Dr. Champion and his office staff are all very curtious and professional! You can tell from the very first visit that they really care about your health! I would recommend Dr. Champion to anyone who is looking into WLS!

The information I was given about him was that he was absolutely the best if not in the southeast, but probably the US! I was also told that his bedside manner wasn't the greatest but that didn't matter to me. He has a great website. His staff is wonderful and was very quick to schedule my surgery. He does emphacize aftercare quite strenuously and has scheduled post op visits. When I had gall bladder problems, he did the surgery and while he was "in there" he checked my "pouch" to make sure everything was good. His office let me organize a support group in my area a few months after my surgery because his other support groups were over 100 miles away. His staff helped me greatly with the support group and continues to do so. He gives "parties" such as "Christmas", "Valentines Day" or "Reunions" almost every year. My surgery was in 2006. I have gained some weight but I haven't exercised as I am suppose to. I really don't have anything negative to say because my experience with him, his staff, and the hospital staff has been great! He may not be the "warmest" doc I've ever had, but certainly one of the very best and I would recommend him to anyone!

He had an excellent personality. He is very professional, caring, concern about his patients, and very thorough with explaining the procedure he was going to perform. As time when on, I can see why he have such a great success rate with his patients. The office was exceptionally set up, clean, plenty of information on different procedures they perform. It was nothing that I least liked about Dr. Champion. Future patients should know that he is a great man that can get you where you want to be as long as you follow his instructions and determine to follow threw. He stress the aftercare alot because you have to know that this is a major change in your life and you have to take care of yourself properly. They have an awesome aftercare package that you recieve before surgery that tell you step by step of what you need to daily;even give you a meal plan you can go by for the first 6 weeks of your recovery. The risk of the surgery was explain well. I watched a video before talking with him and had to take a little quiz at the end to see how much I paid attention to the risk of the surgery, then he went on to explain everything in detail. From 1 to 10 I would give him a 20 because he is wonderful at what he do and a wonderful person.

Very good surgeon. I have found his 'getting all protein through food with no supplements' rule did not work for me. Also his attitude that you can loose a specific amount of weight or you are doing something wrong also not fair as everyone is different. I have had no surgical complications at all. The suspecialists who had to take out my GB and do an endoscope wanted to know my surgeons name as my RNY was so well done.

5/16 - I have yet to meet my surgeon so I can't give any impressions of him. I CAN say that the people in his office are amazing and helpful and WONDERFUL. If he is even half as good as them with bed side manners, etc. I will be incredibly thrilled.rn6/28 - My surgery with Dr. Champion was on 6/25. He is a great surgeon and is overall wonderful! I feel so informed and like any questions that I have are a simple phone call away. I couldn't have picked a better surgeon or program to be a part of. Everyone has positive things to say about him in the medical community. Never once did I doubt his competence.

Have not met Dr. Champion yet, but I am aware of him and his excellent reputation through a friend who is one of his patients. I have had several calls and emails with various people in Dr. Champion's office, and everyone has been excellent to work with. I will add more info as things progress.

I think that Dr Champion is a highly experienced and competent surgeon. I was worried at first that I incorrectly chose a surgeon who primarily does RNY to do my Lap-Band....while it is true that his office has very little aftercare specific to the Lap-Band, I have been able to formulate a successful plan thanks to OH.rnrnDr Champion's strength is his surgical competence , not his program or his staff - and that's exactly what you want in a surgeon! Since my Lap-Band, he's also done my gallbladder removal, and both have gone perfectly with no complications. What more could I ask for?
