Dr. Gens is not only a talented and skilled professional, he is also a down-to-earth and friendly man. He could easily have a big ego about himself with all that he's accomplished, but he doesn't. He is very caring and informative, never beating around the bush about anything and always willing to go the extra mile for your well-being! His Post-Op care & programs are key to success after surgery, which he emphasizes and takes a roll in.rnDr. Gens is a spectacular surgeon, caring professional and a genuine person overall. Dr. Gens has changed my life for the better and I just cannot thank him enough!

Dr. Gens is the best. I had an instant like and respect for him. He was very informative, but down to earth. We talked about our grandchildren, and our children. I feel extremely comfortable with him. My surgery is scheduled for August 15, so I can tell you more after that point.

Dr g. was great. went over everything in detail. Anytime he came to my room asked if i or anybody visiting me if they had questions. rnthough.I think he lives at the hospital usually he would see me at 6 or 630 am and 7 pm. his partner dr p. even came in 1 or sometimes twice a day to check on me as well

Dr. Gens has been WONDERFUL! The surgery went great and he is a great person to talk to. VERY informative and was the only one that gave me his professional opinion as to which surgery (RNY or Lap) he thought would be better for me. VERY easy to talk to either, makes you feel comfortable and it doesn't feel like he is talking above you.

When I first met Dr. Gens I knew that he was the one for me. He seemed like a very caring person. Which it turned out that I was right. He really cares about his patients. He even suggests that you call him at home after your surgery if you have any questions in the evening or weekends. That is unheard of today. My husband went with me to meet him and was also very impressed with him. rnI had a complication in the hospital and two days later had to go back in surgery. He was right there to take me back into surgery. Telling my family that he wanted to make sure all was right that he wouldn't sleep unless he knew everything was okay with me. Plus he was on vacation that week and stayed around home and said if I needed him he would be there. His whole team of Drs. are the best. Plus Nancy the Baratric Coordinator is the best. She was always there for me. If I ever was to do this over again I would seek out Dr. Gens. In my opinion he and his team of surgeons are the BEST. Thank You Dr. Gens. You gave me back my life. I first met Dr.Gens at the informational seminar in Derry NH, and he was the one I initially asked my questions regarding WLS and pregnancy to. He was informative and straightforward, and has always seemed to have my personal goals in mind when we meet. The team at Portsmouth hospital was wonderful to work with, caring and helpful and readily available. The one thing I felt that was missing from my pre-op experience was having people that had already gone through the surgery be a part of the team. At the monthy meetings there were plenty of post-surgery people, but I always felt like it was a quick talk and that was it. I wanted to really be able to pick someone's brain who had gone through what I was preparing for, and I think that a post-surgery patient should be part of the \"team\" of people you meet with.

My first impression of Dr Gens was wonderful. He had done surgery on my Mother & everything had been fine. The office staff was very nice & helpful...never any problems. I really do not have anything bad that I can say about Dr Gens. He was always very nice and truthful. I was very well informed of all risks and of what to expect during & after the surgery. The whole team that works with Dr. Gens is wonderful & they are all very involved with all the patients. I would highly suggest them to anyone who is looking to have surgery. The follow up care & concern is very, very nice. There are two montly meetings that are held. In the pre. op. meeting most of the doctors are the to help & answer questions...it is very nice.

Dr, Gens is immedialty likeable. He is very
thorough and takes the time to answer your
questions and address any concerns you may
have. He made a point to let you know that
he was always available to you pre and post
op.
His office staff is great, very helpful with insurance questions and filing papers for
approvel.
Because of the Wonderful bariatric program
I was involved in risks, aftercare, ongoing care and support play a major role in recovery and success of this surgery. the
surgeons attend the support groups as well
so they have a good understanding of what
partients are experiencing and can address
those concerns on the spot.

I would give Dr. Gens a BIG 10,he is competent, caring and concerned.
