Kent Skogerson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I really loved my Dr. in California ( Dr. Papoola ), but my ins is really screwing me around if I go out of the NV area. My first communication with Dr. Skogerson's office was awesome. they were all very nice and understanding. I want to make an appointment for the new year ( after the Holidays )

I was very impressed with Dr. Skogerson and his staff. They were very knowledgable regarding weight loss surgury. Dr. Skogerson explained in detail the actual procedure, what to expect, what to expect from him and his staff. He has a monthly support group for post-op and pre-op patients and strongly advises you to attend.
Dr. Skogerson and his staff attend these group meetings as well.

I met Dr Skogerson because I had to have my gall bladder out. I had done some reading about WLS and found out about the Dr. I went in for my appt. It was wonderful. I never felt belittled because of my weight. I was treated with respect. The Dr. said my gall bladder had to come out now, so I had that done in late August '01. I feel better now and can't wait for my WLS. The Dr. and his staff are the best!!! They are all very kind and caring. The Dr. is very good. I feel even better about him doing my WLS because I had a good experiance with him doing my gall bladder. The only thing I didn't like was that before or after my surgry I didn't see the Dr. All went well otherwise. I knew my gall bladder surgry was an ER and he had other patients to see. Dr. Skogerson and his staff are always there to answer any questions and they have a very good orientation program. I felt I knew about everything after it. I would recommend Dr. Skogerson to any of my friends or family. He is getting very busy so make your appt ASAP!

He seemed genuinely concerned and caring. He took extra time to answer individual questions. His office staff is very knowledgeable and caring. He has support groups and provides an email support list as well.

My Surgeon is Dr. Kent E. Skogerson in Carson City Nv. I was very impressed with him and am looking forward to having him do my surgery. I am still waiting for an answer from my primary ins. on my appeal but I am also on Medicaid and they have approved me so I have a date now yea!!!!!!

Thank you Dr.Skogerson you saved my life. To anyone researching WLS I would highly recommend Dr. Skogerson he is wonderful my surgery was over in less than 3 hours and I was able to go home in 3 day's if not for this wonderful man I would have never done so well. I have lost 42.5 pounds so far in only 15 day's and I am feeling better everyday.

I have met with him only once. He was very thorough and down-to-earth.
I can not say enough good things about the entire staff. They are excellent at what they do and treat me with the utmost kindness and respect. Sharon is truely an assest and Kathy is a fountain of knowledge. The entire support staff always take time to see that all of my questions are answered. But, do note this...the doctor is becoming increasingly popular and his available surgery dates are being booked well into the future. Don't wait to get started! My only regret is that I waited so long.

Great doctor. excellent bedside manner and good sense of humor. Caring and concerned. Great staff and insurance specialist on board. Having first post op appointment tommorow and will have lots of questions for him.

He was very informative. He did not make me feel bad because I was overweight. The entire staff is dedicated to helping overweight people they have group meetings and support meetings that are after hours but all staff is there happily.
The staff took care of all insurance needs and I received authorization within one month and a scheduled date the next day.
I have not had surgey yet so I have no negitive feelings at this point. I am very excited to be able to have this second chance at life.

First impression was very positive,and has gotten only stronger and more respected.
Dr Skogersons staff should be the role model for all medical staff everywhere without a doubt in my mind.
I recomend this man and his staff to anyone anywhere,even the hospital staff took a lead from his professionalism and patient caring and protection.
Aftercare is integral in the skogerson program from open symposiums to regularly scheduled aftercare meetings, which unbelievably the doctor attends personally.
The surgical risks are spelled out by the doc staff and aftercare patients openly.
Dr skogersons bedside manor is 100% and his surgical skill obviously ranks at the top of any list. I was back at work within two weeks, with no complications, and will speak to anyone interrested in hearing about the entire experience

Dr. Skogerson and his entire staff are wonderful. Sharon, his insurance specialist, handled the approval process and all I had to do was wait. On May 2nd, I attended the support group meeting held for his patients and it was wonderful. Dr. Skogerson and his staff attended the meeting and I was very impressed by the support they show all their patients.
