He was very warm and concerned with what I had been through. You must remember that he did not perform the Gastric Bypass on me. That was done by another surgeon, and it did not go well. By the time Dr. Mark met me, I had had 11 surgeries, was in the hospital 3mths and 23 days, had learned how to walk again, and I was very bitter and in a lot of pain.

I just grew to like him more and more, then the like turned to love, respect, appreciation, I can't say enough good things about him. I like nothing, least about him.

Staff-Great caring people, love them all.

He will do everything he can to help you and he really cares.

After care program is good, I haven't been able to make any of the support group meeting yet, but I will eventually.

He explains everything completely, something I didn't get before I initially went in under the other DR.

Dr. Mark is definitely a 10!!!!!!

Both surgical competence and beside manner is great!

Dr Johnson has the team approach to WLS. Before you can even schedule a consultation, you must schedule to attend his monthly information session. At the information session he covers surgery, expectations, insurance and how to get insurance to pay, and how to live with your pouch.

His office staff is incredibly professional and coordinated. They get back to you quickly and are caring. You feel like a person, not a procedure.

My consultation was incredibly informative, and all information was taken to see if I was a good candidate and submit to the insurance company.

I was first denied - but his office appealed quickly and I was approved 2 weeks later.

I have the privilege to work at Mon General, which helped make my decision easier. Dr. Johnson has a great reputation among the medical staff. My father is an orthopedic surgeon at Mon General, a very protective father, and he is very comfortable with Dr. Johnson as my surgeon.

I feel very lucky to have Dr. J as my physician. I know I will have the best of care, in clinical excellence and bedside manner.

My lab RYN is scheduled for April 8th. I will update upon return to the conscious from my surgery!

My first impression of Dr. Mark was very good! He is young, enthusiastic and tries to be funny! My impression of him only got better over time. He really cares about his patients. I had to have a 2nd surgery to stop some internal bleeding and was really upset as they wheeled me into surgery for the 2nd time. He saw me crying and stood next to me and held my hand until I went under. His office staff is great - he now has a nurse that had gastric bypass herself. It's nice to talk to your nurse and know that she truly understands what you are going thru.

Dr. Mark stresses aftercare, once you get to be 3 months out, you then see him every 3 months. He has to monitor your nutrition somewhat (thru bloodwork) and give you a B 12 shot. Dr. Mark told me the risks of surgery on my first visit. I would rate him the BEST DOCTOR I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!

I got to meet Dr. Mark at the Feb. support group meeting and I was very impressed. My sister and I are both scheduled to go to the informational meeting this month and I am anxious to get the ball rolling. I felt instantly at ease with Dr. Mark and his nurses. I look forward to getting to know them better in the months to come.

I have 2 people in my office who used him and a year ago when he had his first support group meeting I decided to go. The office was jam packed with people nobody had a bad word to say about Dr. Johnson. I went to several meetings and have met with him privately and he takes plenty of time to talk with you. You don't feel rushed and he is very personable. There was another surgeon at the other hospital who had some problems with patients and was suspended. All those patients went to Dr. Johnson and then I had to wait forever to get an appointment. A pshyc-eval and a visit to a nutritionist is reguired. He stresses 50 grams of protein daily after surgery. I believe I will be monitored carefully after surgery and the support group meets once a month.
