Michael Sofronski Bariatric Surgeon D.O.

Dr. Safronski and his staff were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He had a genuine interest in me and my well being. He even let me chose my surgery date. Anyone who lives in Maryland Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Virginia who has been waiting months to get a surgery date, please contact Dr. Sofronski. He has opnenings for June, July, ... When you visit Dr. S' office be prepared to have a thorough screening/ checkup, view a 30 minute informative video and spend time with the Dr. Dr. S. has a structued after care program and he strongly empahsizes this program. I liked everything about Dr. S. and his staff and would advise anyone considering this surgery or who has been waiting months to be scheduled to pay Dr. S. a visit.

Dr. V. and his staff were very pleasant and helpful. He answered all of my questions. I met with him only once and that was in November 2002. I am still waiting for a surgery date. What I don't like is that they hardly answer the telephones and that it takes so long to get a surgery date. I think that Dr. V. needs to have another surgeron come in to perform surgeries. It should not take this long.

Dr Sofronski is great. He answers all my questions... & I have had many!! He is very straight forward. His staff is wonderful, especially Rosie. She is the program coordinator. They offer an excellent after care program. As Dr Sofronski put it : I have a new family"!

Dr Sofronski is very easy going and easy to talk with he seems to truely care about his patients. All of his office staff are friendly and caring. He has structured and absolutely wonderful program with nutrition, exercise plan and support group. He is dedicated to his patients for at least a full year. he is very compassionate and his bed side manner couldnt be better. I am a nurse and I have worked with many doctors and Dr Sonfronski has so much more to offer than most.

I had my first appoinment yesterdat and he was great fun happy and made me feel right at home.All the staff was friendly also made me feel right at home.He answered all my questions all two and a half pages.He and his staff stress after care there is a fee that is not billable to your insurance of 2,000 due before surgery.But the after care is stressed and very structured, I live two hours away and hope i can make most of the support groups but i do work full time.I look forward to working with him and his staff through my journey.

At first Dr. Sofronski ,seemed aloof and not very freindly. However; when it became evident that I was going to continue with the program and not back out, he has been more open and a load of information. The office staff is very freindly and "sensitive to my concerns" and the waiting room chairs fit. To have the surgery thru my insurance co. and the PRMC ( Peninsula Regional Medical Center) a pre and post operative procedure must be followed. Pre- certification that my heart can withstand the surgery by a cardiologist. ( Dr. Mclean, whom Dr. Sofronski uses was great and very good).I also, had to have a psychologist evaluation.
Post operative- a 1 year program of nutrition, physical trainer and support groups must be adherred to. All and all a very good Doctor and program.

I really like Dr. Sofronski, he is very personable and down to earth and truly seems to care for his patients. His office staff is wonderful. A lot of times when you go to the doctor you feel self conscious because of your weight but you do not feel that way with his staff. they are great!!! Dr. Sofronski emphasizes aftercare greatly. He has a structured aftercare program. He gave me lots of great information. Rosey his program coordinator has been a great help to me in helping me understand the things I am doing wrong and helping to prepare me for surgery.

Dr. Sofronski is awesome. He has been willing to work with me in spite of my insurance. He has done everything he can to make this possible for me.

His staff is awesome as well. Very well informed and helpful.

He was an up beat person, happy.
As I have visited him I've learned he is a carry person and is there for his patients.
Everyone in the office is very friendly, from what I see no one there needs the surgery. Dr Mike has also had the surgery so he knows what I am going threw. I haven't found anything that I dislike about Dr. Mike.
Always be up front with him, he can help you better if he truely knows what's on your mind. Since Dr. Mike is still having aftercare himself, he highly recomends the aftercare. Dr. Mike puts you in touch with people who show you what you have to do. Dr. Mike has told me about the risks, but feels we will do well together. I don't think I could have found a better doctor. He seems to be very competent, as for the bedside manner I'll find out when I have the surgery, but from what I see in him he will be great.

Dr. Sofronski is very professional, kind, compassionate, well informed and has plenty of time to answer all my concerns. He even offers his home phone if you need to call him after hours. His staff is excellent. He is very exact about you following his 12 month aftercare program consisting of nutrionist, personal trainers, support group, office visits, etc. He has thoroughly explained all risks involved. I have no doubts of his surgical competence and he does have a great bedside manner.
