Dr. B seems to be a compassionate guy. He explained all aspects of the surgery to me, including a frank discussion of the side effects. The office at Bariatric Treatment Centers was professional and provided efficient service. They respond to all calls, questions and concerns - no matter how great or how small.

He has been very kind and upfront about the possible side effects of the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone looking for answers.

He was very thorough-- very professional and answered all of my questions. He left no stone unturned he didn't sugar-coat it he told of the risks, the failures, the good the bad and the battle you have to overcome. There will be a lot of hard work ahead. The staff I have encontered this far seems well- Debbie in insurance was exceptionally well( I bugged her to death until I finnally got my approval.-Teresa the patint counselor was O.K. she was nice enogh but I wasn't completey satisfed with her answers-All in all I give Bariatric Treatment Centers a BIG THUMBS UP!! thus far they have dealt with my insurance and any thing else that has come up. If I have any questions at all there is always someone to answer them.

"Dr. B." (from Bariatric Treatment Center) was very matter of fact and to the point at my initial consultation. He didn't seem to exude a great deal of personality. However, he did seem to "know his stuff!" I asked how many of these proceedures he had performed and he said over 3,000. He carried this same demeanor through the day of surgery. I found him to be a little more personable at my post op visits, which made me feel more comfortable.

The nursing staff at the Ann Arbor office was also very matter of fact, but knowledgable. The patient consultant was terriffic!

BTC has a great post op plan in which they inform their patients about what and when to eat. It has been very well thought out and was of great benefit.

He did explain the risks of the surgery, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. He didn't seem too thrilled that I had researched this surgery on the internet, thinking that I may have gotten a lot of erroneous information. However, I felt more qualified to ask the right questions as a result of that research.

Overall, I would rate him as a very good doctor. I feel that his expertise in the area of surgery is his greatest strength, over his bedside manner. But, as far as I am concerned, that is the most important thing. I am well satisfied with my experience.

My first impression of Dr. B was that he was very tired looking and didn't have a whole lot to say when I went for my first consult. Which may have been the case. Haha. I had read on the internet that his "bedside manor" lacked but that he was the best in his field. So with that I figured I didn't care that he didn't talk much but that he knew what he was doing was more inportant to me. I had my surgery on November 11, 1999. Not only did he have to take my gallbladder out but also my spleen. He was so good to go inform my husband & family about everything. When he came to see me the next day he explained everything to me and was so nice! I found him very easy to talk to and ask questions. I will always be grateful to him for the fine job he did not only the surgery itself but for giving me back my life. I recommend him HIGHLY.

I believe he saved my life.
He was very informative, spent over an hour with me on my initial visit.
The office was great. A few of the office staff were pretty disenterested, but all of the professional staff was truly dedicated.
I thought it was interesting that my surgeon was significantly over weight!
My aftercare was good.
I did develop an incisional hernia, but I have had quite a few surgeries, and feel if this was my only complication, great!
I had my hernia repaired at another hospital, by a surgeon I have known a long time. This was mostly due to the fact that the hospital that BTC uses is so far away.
The Bariatric Treatment Center is a great place that has the whole thing down to a pretty slick operation, and I think that is why everyone is so successful!
I am sure that my experience was so positive because I have such good results!

He was wonderfull! Had minor problems ended up having to stay for a little longer after surgery and he was great about explaining everything to me! Bariatric Treatment Center is the place to be. They do about 5 surgery's a day. They know what their doing and so does the nurse staff which is great! If you all get into Addison, the best nurse is POLLY!!!!!!

Pleasant enough so far.

The staff of BTC, Ann Arbor Michigan is considered competent by most non-bariatric physicians I've spoken to about my obesity and options to lose weight.
