Dr. Kelley was very personable and easy to talk to. He has a very friendly manner about him and was willing to listen to me and was very honest. The staff at St. Paul Surgeon's have been very helpful, supportive, kind and make me laugh. THANKS GINGER!!
Side note: my friend had Dr. Kelley for her Roux-N-Y surgery and I thought he had an excellent bedside manner and took very good care of her in the hospital. That's what drew me to him when I decided to have surgery.

Dr. Kelly was great! The staff at St. Paul Surgeons are incredible. I feel very comfortable calling them with any questions that I may have.

Dr. Kelly was, and is, a very personable man. He's easy to talk to and has been genuinely concerned about my weight loss progress.

Since my surgery, I've only met with his nurses (I have my first post-op appointment with Dr. Kelly next month) and they are great! I like that they don't beat around the bush and get right to the point. Dr. Kelly is no different and I really like that.

Aftercare is really emphasized. They make it quite clear it's important to eat protein first and to watch what your eating, to attend the support groups as this keeps people on track.

My first impression of Dr. Kelly is that he is very knowledgeable and answered my questions and also appreciated my feed back on how they are running their program. We went over the risks of surgery, I knew about them but to here them said aloud really made them more of a reality. I only had one meeting so far with Dr. Kelly, so no more comments at this time. Waiting for my Surgery Date.

A good listener.
It hasn't, he still listens to questions and concerns. He has a vey positive attitude and pleasant demeanor.
Very busy! Althought the staff is always very freindly and courteous it is apparent they are overwhelmed with patients.

The aftercare program is very important to all the staff. They all encourage you to attend aftercare groups and call with questions or concerns.

Yes.

Excellent

Both are great.

DR KELLY WAS EASY TO TALK TO AND EXPLAINED PROCEDURE , POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS AS WELL AS THE MANY BENEFITS. THE OFFICE STAFF WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL AS FAR AS GUIDING YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS. PARTICIPATION IN GROUP SUPPORT GROUPS OR INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IS ENCOURAGED. DR KELLY WOULD LIKE YOU TO COME IN MONTHY FOR THE FIRST YEAR. EVERYONE I MET WITH STRESSED THE NEED TO START CHANGING YOUR EATING HABITS BEFORE SURGURY AND DRINKING LOTS OF WATER SO IT WOULDD BE EASIER POST OP . I ALSO TALK TO SOME ICU NURSES THAT SAID HE WAS A GOOD SURGEON AND THEY SAID THEY WWWOULD LET HIM OPERATE ON THEM.

I THINK BEDSIDE MANNER ISS NICE BUT GOOD SURGICAL SKILLS ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND EXPERIENCE ARE IMPORTANT.

THEE WHOLE PROCESS SEEMED LONG. I FIRSST CALLED OFFICE IN MAR ,FIRST INFO MEETING WITH SPACE AVAILABLE WAS MAY, THEN 7 WEEKS TO MEET WITH NURSE, PYSCH EVAL AND FINALLY MET DR KELLY IN OCT AFTER INSURANCE APPROVAL.

I had met Dr Kelly two years before I had my weight loss surgery. He removed my gallbladder so I had prior surgical experience with him. Needless to say I'm happy with Dr Kelly. He's friendly and gets straight to the point. He's a very busy man but he makes sure all your questions get answered. Dr Kelly did a great job of going over the benefits and risks of the two surgeries he performs which helped me discern which one was right for me. I would recommend Dr Kelly to anyone seeking weight loss surgery.

Dr. Kelly was friendly, professional and very clear while explaining the procedure to me at my office visit.
His nurse Joyce has tons of info (too much to remember) but is willing to answer questions as they come up along the way.
I will update again after surgery.

1.) I thought he was great, took alot of time to explain procedures to me and very caring.

2.) My impression grew stronger that he was a very capable doctor.

3.) His office staff was great they have been there every step of the way threw all my many questions and concerns...never making me feel rushed. They also go that extra mile to make me feel good.

4.) I had explained that I have a hard time coming out of annesthia..explained to him I was given something in the past to wake me up quicker and he didn't check into what that might have been. Talking to the annesthiologist he said he had never heard of anything..but explained that they would do what they could.

5.) I had encountered problems during hospital stay..he was on top of the problems and took the necessary procedures to correct them right away.

6.)He very much emphasized aftercare, both before and after surgury.

7.) I didn't feel that a structured program was really in place. I went home with many questions...but they were quickly answered by nurse Joyce who was extremely patient and helpful.

8.) He went through them very carefully with me, making sure that I understood them all.

9.) I would give him and 8 out of 10

10.) I think both are very important, I think bedside manner does help a patient to get better quicker.

I had a very good impression of Doctor Peter Kelly, he is thourough when explaining any details or questions that you may have.
There was no change of impression over time except maybe that I was more comfortable knowing that he was going to be the one to do my surgery.
His office staff is very friendly, and well educatued about the different types of surgery his office has to offer.
I really don't have any complaints about him at all.
Dr. Kelly has a really good team working for him that sends out pamphlets letting you know about their aftercare program and how they strongly encourage everyone to attend including spouses significant others to come along for support.
I am not shure but I believe his after care program is well structured, however I have not atteneded one yet to early after post-op, next week there is a monthly meeting that I plan to attend to know better about this.
He wrote down on a piece opf paper the actual surgery we decided that I was going to have described everything in detail and what all the risks's/ factors that are involved and what the outcome of each one could potential have.
If you are rating from a 1-10? I would guive him a 8+ to a 9.
Both are great.
