Dr. Mirande in Klamath Falls, Oregon is a great surgeon. He is a very caring man and very personable. He made me feel comfortable and at ease from the beginning. He does the R&Y open and laproscopically. He does have a structured aftercare program and is very health concious. One thing that really impressed me was he would call me personally after surgery to see how I was doing. Merle West Medical Center in Klamath Falls is a nice modern facility. The only negative comment I have is that the nurses did not make me get up and walk. Luckily I knew I was supposed to, but an email pal of mine ended up with pnumonia because she did not get up and walk. So be sure and listen to Dr. Mirande. His instructions were pretty thorough.
My first impression of Dr.Mirande is very caring. He looks you in the eye and listens to what you have to say. That is soooo important to me. He also is very serious and knowledgable about nutrition and what happens to you after your surgery. I have not had my surgery yet(5 weeks away).
Mr.Mirande's office staff is very knowledgable and helpful...friendly too.
He wants you to go to support groups and learn how to change your eating habits for the better. He is feels very strongly about nutrition and the ways to keep off the weight after surgery.
Very honest and easy going. Made you feel comfortable, and not like a fat blob! The office staff is good, and he is still following my aftercare. All the surgical risks were addressed and he drew out diagrams of how the surgery would be reconstucted. He was there ALL the time after the surgery while I was in the hospital. He made the nurses give me better care and ensured that I was comfortable in the hospital. He is a wonderful man, very caring and friendly and has a great bedside manner. One of the best I know of!
