Dr. Carter is genuine, professional, helpful, and supportive. At the same time, he demands that you do YOUR part in the process. The band is a tool. You have to follow the rules, and learn to use the tool to meet your goal. I do not believe he is a hand holder…. If you are not doing it right, expect him to be honest and tell you about it. I have not had any experiences that are negative. This is just my impression. Would I do it again, with Dr. Carter? You betcha!

9/26/03 I am in the first stages of this process. I have been to Dr. Carter's seminar and found him very easy to talk to, open to whatever questions, and very patient. So far his staff has been great. Becky is the coordinator and helps to get everything ready for the insurance company. Dr. Carter is very serious about aftercare. His practice is setting up an aftercare program which includes information on just about everything you could possibly need, ie. plastic surgeons, support groups, etc. Dr. Carter explained the differences in bypass vs. the LapBand. He has done approx 200 LapBand procedures in the last year. I feel comfortable moving forward into the surgery with him.
1/18/04 I have had my consult w/ Dr. Carter and still feel the same. His office seems to run very smoothly. One great thing is the Medical Center of Arlington has contracted with Bandlandia for aftercare. They are a great group of people that support you in this journey.
10/17/05. Long overdue. Dr. Carter is wonderful! I sent a good friend to him and I am going to use him for some other health issues I have. He is a wonderful surgeon and a caring man. I can't say enough good things about him.

I am really impressed with Dr. Carter's office. I had done my own research and decided on the LapBand and found Dr. Carter in Arlington. I faxed in all my forms two weeks ago and went to the information seminar two nights ago. Dr. Carter was professiona, courtesy and informative. His staffer members were excited about what they do and friendly. I talked to Becky and she stated that since I had all my forms in to call her the next day. I called yesterday, and Becky said my first letter was sent to BlueCross BlueShield of Texas a week ago.

Dr. Carter was very kind and friendly during my office visit with him. He pretty much information me and gave me literature to read and referred me to Bandlandia, and literature for solid foods. He gave me all the info. He doesn't appear to type to baby anyone in the process. He treats you as an adult with respect and dignity.

He emphasized the importance of aftercare and visits. He showed me the band and how it will be filled and adjusted. He did state the risks of the surgery, if there will be pain and the length of recovery.

Out of 10, I give Dr. Carter an 8.5. I highly recommend him.

**1.5 was given to the fact that i'm an obese man and his office chairs were very small and I had to squeeze into one. I was somewhat embarrased in the waiting room**

He has a wonderful bedside manner and is always pleasant and makes it easier in making the descision for this life altering procedure. He made me feel at ease before and after the surgery. I feel very comfortable. His office staff is very helpful with anything you need to know. I feel I call them to much but they are always pleasant and helpful. He went over all aspects of the surgery and fully explained everything. I would recommend him fully to anyone needing surgery or anything.

My whole experience with Dr. Carter has been wonderful. He has a great bedside manner and really shows care and concern for his patients.

The office staff are very easy to work with and are great cheerleaders. From the filing with the insurance to the visits in the office, they do everything they can to aid in this journey.

First Impression was he was a very sincere and caring person but very busy. After my visit, I felt like he was interested in making the journey with me and helping me to succeed.

Becky and Joe (Staff) are great. They are responsive and helpful and work very hard to get the insurance companies to cooperate.

There is not 1 thing I would change about Dr. Carter and his staff. My daughter and my husband both have had the LAP Band by Dr. Carter and we all think he is the greatest! He is very hands on in the after care and if you need him after hours, he always calls himself. He and his staff are great with the care. He is a wonderful surgeon and I've never had a better doctor and bedside manner.

Other than having to wait at first when I went, (Too many fills) I have nothing negative to say about him. I would not have had my family use him if I had negative experiences.
