Robert Cacchione Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I arrived at Dr. Cacchione's office an hour early and the receptionist was quite friendly to me. She had me fill out all the paperwork needed and took a copy of my insurance card. My online angel,Rowan Aislynn was with me...or actually I was with her!! She had her one month appointment at the same time as my first consultion appointment. I was called in earlier than my appointment time ( which really IMPRESSED me!) I was weighed ( 352 pounds) and then taken to a room where I didnt have to wait more than 5 minutes and then Dr Cacchione came in. He explained to me all about the LAP BAND and the LAP RNY surgeries....and risks of both types...went over my medical history packet with me, and did a brief abdomenial exam....and he even helped me get on and off the exam table!!!! WOW!! For the first time im my life I actually met a dr who didnt look at me with disgust ....I felt comfortable and could be myself....after dr cacchione talked to me....his assistant Debbie then came in and took 2 digial photos of me...one from the front...and one from the side.....and i didnt have to suck my gut in for these LOL =) then I watched 2 short movies on Lap Band and lap RNY.....they were about 10 minutes each......I had to see a nutritonist and a Psych...and I already had apppointments made for them...so I knew i would have all my stuff ready by May 13th...so I got an appoint to go back for my second visit with Dr Cacchione on May 13...I would definately rate Dr Cacchione no less than a 9....he gets the other point when Im down a 100 pounds LOLOLOLOLOLOL =)

Dr. Cacchione is an extremely nice man. I felt instantly at ease with him. My first impression of him was correct and he just got nicer over time.
His staff was very friendly and helpful as well. They also were extremely prompt in getting me set up for the next phase of all this, taking numerous tests.
I really can't think of anything negative I found with the interview. I went very well prepared and asked lots of questions and he answered them all.

It was sooo nice to have a doctor walk into the exam room and not look at you like you were a sloth. He was soo caring and polite. The office staff is wonderful, too. When I first got there they took two digital photos of me for my file. I remember thinking. "Wow, the first time I haven't tried to hold everything in to appear thinner!" Just doing that made me feel better; knowing that no one in that office would judge me for my weight or what I look like or that I need help getting up on the d**n exam table!

I have had two appointments with Dr Cacchione and am awainting the approval from my insurance... should be any day now!!!

At my last appointment he asked if I had any questions and I told him that actually I had a whole list! Can you believe he actually SMILED?! He said great, I love a prepared patient. And then he proceded to answer each question thoroughly and without pulling any punches. I was very happy with the answers and cannot wait to begin my new life!
