He looks too young to be an experienced doctor. But he is good at what he does. Dr. Marvin is very clear in his explaination of the Lap-Band procedure. You come away from your pre-op meetings knowing what to expect after surgery and what his expectations are of you.rnrnThe staff at Obesity Surgery Specialists in Houston are wonderful! Several have had WLS so they understand what you are going through and can answer your questions. They care about you and how you are doing. I have no qualms about calling or emailing anyone on staff with a question.rnrnTheir support group is great too. Full of wonderful people at all stages of their weight loss journey. I come away with a renewed strength each time I go.rnrnAnyone looking for a great surgeon and wonderful aftercare staff, this is the place to go.

Dr.Marvin was and is my angel.he saved my life . I was taking 5 dif . meds . and was going to lose my leg if I dident do somthing fast.I had been to other Dr's but it just dident fill right . so one day I saw the add for DR . Marvin and I called. so I went in and as soon as Dr.Marvin started talking . I new then that I wanted hem to be my surgeon. he saw a person.and felt my pain. not just money. the care I got before and after surgery was great.the support meetings, and 1 on 1 care you get is priceless.

My first impression about Dr. Marvin was he is great. He made me feel better about the whole thing. I mean I explained to him about how people at work would give me a hard time and how I was going to die. Dr. Marvin explained to me that he himself has that same problem in the medical field. I let people who ask me about the surgery about Dr. Marvin and his staff.

When i first met Dr. marvin my first impression was that he is to young to be doing surgery on me. Once talking to him i realized that he was very qualified to do what was needed to be done. I appreciated him being up front with me in reference to a concern that i had been struggling with, and he immediately addressed the issue with out me even asking my question ,for this i say that God had been in the midst of this whole procedure and i was more comfortable than I had been since attending my first seminar. now to his awesome office staff words cannot express the commitment that each one of them have to the patients. Overall I am giving Dr. Marvin and his staff a 10.

rnMet with him last week before my surgery and after my surgery--highly professional, straightforward, cautious, and knowledgeable dude. Great Dr.!rn--------rnI haven't had my face to face consultation with him yet, but the seminar proved that he is direct, honest, straightforward, void of the bullcrap, and very mild mannered. He does not seem to be overly doting or officious, but he seems principled and extremely knowledgeable.rnrnHis office staff is busy but cordial. It is obvious that with the popularity of Dr. Marvin and the Obesity Surgery Specialists Center, they are a bit whipsawed and weary. They are careful, however, to be pleasant and muster patience.rnrnThe early information is forthcoming . . . .

If you are looking for a bariatric surgeon look no further! Dr. Marvin did my lap RNY in May 2006 and he was very competent. I was unfortunate enough to have complications after my surgery. I bled at my staple line, which required me to go back to the OR. It was 3 AM and Dr. Marvin was there in a flash. He even held my hand while they were adminstering general anethesia for the second time. I have never had a doctor who was so caring and supportive. He was there for me throughout the whole ordeal. It was his competence and knowledge that saved my life...twice! First by doing my RNY and then taking the steps to stop my internal bleeding. The patient's health comes first to Dr. Marvin. Dr. Marvin has outstanding surgical competence paired with a caring bedside manner. I recommend him highly!rnOh, and I can't leave the girls from OSS out, they were great and they add that personal touch to your wls journey!

I chose Dr. Marvin because he is very detailed, he has you to go to his seminar which describes the different procedures before you have your first consultation, my seminar was Oct. 10. rnrnI had my first consult with him today 10/17/06, he was very concerned, caring, informative, understanding and a real sweetheart. His staff was absolutly wonderfull, I give them all three thumbs up!

My first impression of DR. Marvin was that he was that he seemed to be just the right age . I wanted a Dr. who was up to date on my surgery, but not just out of school either. The office staff is awsome they make sure you have everything possible in order. They are there for you whenever you need them, I called all the time to check on the progress of things. After care is #1 , they make sure you are informed on everything. They have a great staff as well as a support group meetings. They did run all kinds of test to make sure to cut down on the risk of surgey.rnDr. Marvin went over the risk several times with me and even tested me on a few questions before he took me into the OR.rnDr. Marvin Had a great bedside manner and sugical competece.rn
