I chose St. Margaret's and Dr. Quinlin because I didn't feel his services there were being marketed. Rather he is an educator. That impression of him hasn't changed. His staff is very nice and respond promptly to your calls.Dr.Quinlin is not the most effusive person on the face of the earth..but the trade-off is that you are getting a very good surgeon with a very good reputation. I am always suspicious of people who try to charm you anyway. My (first) surgery was not completed because my liver was too large..right now it was a week ago and it would have been nice to get a call from the office but that's okay. Dr. Quinlin addressed the risks of surgery (and not having surgery) very clearly. I really like him and liked the surgeon who assisted in my surgery Dr. Zelkovic. Both are very professional and you can have a lot of confidence in them. Both get an A in my book despite the outcome of the surgery.. Dr. Quinlin is an extremely competent surgeon. He is a bit reticent when it comes to bedside manner but again that is just his personality.

These are of course my personal experiences and opinions and you may have a different experience.

i was nevous but after meeting him his very nice. he explain the procedure, answered all my questions futhermore told me i was making the right decession. st magarets has a structered aftercare program to help you. he addressed all the risk of the surgery very well. only thing is that i heard bad things about him from some ppl and heard good things too. this is what makes me a little nervous.

My doctor is good, he has been really good in the aftercare. I had another doctor within his practice for the start of my
WLS but he left the practice. The one problem that I did encounter was two times I had appointment cards that said I had one & went down there & was told that the doctor didnt see paitents on that day or he wasnt in. That was early in my journy and it hasnt happened recently but I still get leary when I walk in the office.

I met Dr. Quinlin when I went for my pre-op visit, he was so friendly that he made me comfortable immediately. He explained the surgery to me, asked if I felt I was ready for the surgey to which I replied, "I've never been more ready for anything in my life".

Dr. Quinlin was outstanding during my hospitalization, once again answering any questions I had and explaining things to me step by step. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.

The materials that I was given both before and after my surgery have been lifesavers, there isn't usually a day that goes by that I don't pull out some information sheet to check on diet, recipes, activities, etc. to get me through.

I got to meet Dr. Qinlin back in 2009 and did get qualified for the lapband. I did the classes and everything and I unfortunately couldn't eat the diet plan that the lapband offers and I took my diet in my own hands. He is a fabulous doctor and I love his team too. I really recommend him highly for Bariatric Care. He has done RNY Bypasses on two of my family members and they are doing very well! I have went from 220 lbs and I am 5 foot 4.5 inches and I am down to 175 in 7 months and loosing still and maintaining a good diet and eating well also had a medicine change. I really think Dr. Quinlin is the man for the job! Please consider him and his team. They are fab!

My first impression was that he knew his stuff as it were. He looks very serious, and studious, almost unpleasant. As I went further in the process I just realized that he was a man of few words, a straight to the point type person. For me that was great since I am the same type of person. His office staff is great, and really helpful when trying to get all of your paperwork together for surgery.I honestly can't think of anything I don't like about Dr. Quinlin. Some people may be takin aback by his quietness, the lack of smiling and constant unrelated conversation, but when it comes to surgery, he knows his stuff. One of the best in the Western PA, if not the best, in the area.I personally met patients who had traveled from other states to have him perform their surgeries, so trust me I'm not just talking what I don't know.He is a stickler for following his regimen pre as well as post surgery to the point that he will cancel the surgery if things are not as he has prescribed(Ex.following pre-surg diet, weight loss). He converses when need be, such as at the informational session prior to ever even having an appt with or meeting him personally. Overall I feel he is highly competent surgically, and bedside he could possibly warmer, but he was fine to me. Like I said earlier, I honestly have NO complaints.

I was nervous at first.
He makes you feel comfortable when talking to you; he doesn't really talk down to you at all about your weight, and he doesn't play the blame game with you.
The staff was very good they made you feel calm and they were very nice and helpful; at time though it's extremely hard to get a hold of them.
I really don't have anything I don't like about him; he's very upfront and straight to the point if your not into a DR being in your face about something and preparing you for something then don't see him; that's his perk I think, but everyone's different.
He's a wonderful; hit the nail on the head type of man.
Omgosh aftercare is a major key-point.
Yes, a very detailed aftercare plan.
He didn't beat around the bush and I liked that.
A 9 for sure he's very professional.
Both are great.

I just had my first appointment on Friday, October 9th and thought that Dr. Quinlin and his staff are marvelous! They made me feel very welcome and seemed to really care about me as a person. Dr. Quinlin is very confident and really caring. The entire program is very \"mapped out\" from beginning to end, and they really ensure that you know your role in the process.
