Dr. Smoot is very informative and open. He encourages you to ask questions and he gives you straight-forward responses.
my first impression of dr smoot was great {was younger than i thought} i also took my husband with me and he well informed us both.the staff was great also so frendly.their was nothing i did not like.he really talkes about after care alot and that is the most important part of the surgery.so far everything was great.
Dr. Smoot performed my wife's surgery and I
would recommend him him to anyone. He is very caring and very well educated in this procdure, along with the great office staff.
Dr. Smoot and his staff and wonderful! They are always there to help, no matter when you call or what your problem is. Dr. Smoot is very personable and caring, as is Barbara and Christine. They are very upbeat and very supportive.
Aftercare is great. The have programs in nutrition, exercise, and there is a conselor available onsite as well. I have had a very good experience will all the members of his staff.
I first met Dr. Smoot at a conference in Ocean City Maryland about 1 yr ago. He gave a talk about Morbid obesity and I began to cry . He was telling my story and he understood how I felt. His soul was in his work and he knew what we feel. His office Assistant Barb kept informed and encouraged through the process of insurance approval and preop visits. She has become a friend. His office has a multidicinplinary approach and all are under one roof for patient visits on Fridays. They have coordinated my visits with the support group meetings. The aftercare program they provide is excellent. I don't mind the 3.5 hour drive for such a caring and genuine group of professionals. I am a nurse. With Dr. Smoots office facilitating the insurance approval was not a problem. I have US Healthcare.
Well, I love Dr. Smoot. He is very nice and a all out going person. He explains everything in detail. If you have questions don't be scared to ask him because he will go over it until you can unstand him on that one subject. His staff is great and friendly just like him. They all are very caring about you and not just the money. Like some doctors and staff I know about and not naming names. LOL!

I have known Dr Roy Smoot for a number of yrs . He has done surgery on me in the past ,in fact he did 2 surgeries on me. I can"t say enough good about him. His bed side manor is wonderful and he is a very caring Dr. He explains everything in detail to you and you feel very good knowing that you are in such capable hands. He has always returned my calls and he is there if and when I need him.His office staff are wonderful he has had one person in his office for at least 20 yrs or longer. he will take good care of you as well as the other Drs. in his office. He follows through on everything he says. He told me all the risks involved in the surgery and he also had numbers and percentages to tell me. I recommend him highly on any surgery . His competence and bed side manor are one in the same ,excellent.
I have talked to several people who have had the surgery. He comes highly recommended and known as top notch surgeon in the area. I am not real thrilled with the hospital where he works, but I hear too many good things not to pursue his services. I want to have the surgery after school is out in June.
