My first impression of Dr. Gornichec was that he was nice looking :) He was professional and right to the point. His staff are all nice. He addressed all of the risks of surgery to me during my visit. I had my surgery with only a minor complication. I needed to drain, he fixed me and I'm fine. I've had NO other complications. I think he's a very good surgeon. While I was in the hospital he was very caring and concerned. He kept me a little longer because of my draining. So to sum it up he has great bedside manner and he's a compitent surgeon. 2 our of 2! Can't do any better then that!

At the seminar I attended, my first impression of Dr. Gornichec was that he was very thorough, truly caring, and very skilled. I have heard nothing but good things about him from his patients. rnWhen I met him in his office he was exactly what I thought. I really liked him, alot! He leaves no stones unturned, and is very informative. I feel like I have had an excellent work up for my surgery. rnHis office staff is usually available to answer any questions, and are pretty prompt at returning calls and emails.rnI believe a good surgeon has both surgical competence AND a good bedside manner. Dr. Gornichec seems to have them covered.

Where to start with Dr. G? rnrnFirst, I took the time to go to his seminar. He was very methodical and accomodating to all in attendance while still maintaining the control over the question forum. This was important to me so my time was not wasted and let me know that he was compassionate for peoples concerns, but not to the point where they would sway him to alter his objective - this particular case being meeting structure. rnrnUpon meeting with Kim, I found that this was a very well-oiled machine and process. They know what they can do for you and lay it on the line. THAT is worth millions in my estimations. To deal with a COMPETENT staff and get straight answers is elating. She had all information and requirements laid out. rnrnWhen I met with Dr. G for my first consult, I told him exactly why I wanted the surgery and what I expected of it. he reminds me a lot of my athletic caoches I have had in the past. Very direct of what he expects of you, while being accomodating to a degree of what you expect of him. I knew right away after talking with him one on one, that with his assistance, and the accountability factor he requires, this was going to be a successful endeavor. rnrnThrough their guidance, I managed to lose +30 pounds during the non-surgical phase. Now, on December 5, I am completing the 10 day liquid diet and STILL losing at a steady pace. Exactly as he had told me I would, if I followed his recommendations. rnrnWhen it comes to your choice of surgeons, don't look for ones that will baby talk you. This is your life you are dealing with. Get the facts then attack the issues with a vengeance. He so far has not let me down in letting me know how to handle the unknowns and gives the welcome praise I need whenI have been succesful without appearing to just be non-chalant about it. rnrnBest thing I can say about him: He understands and knows how to help if you will do what is requested by him. rnrn

Dr Gornichec is awesome. He will give you a complete evaluation of your health. He takes the time to discuss your questions and concerns. His office staff is very caring and helpful.rnrnDr Gornichec is honest and blunt, he won't sugar coat it and he won't lie to you.rnrnDr Gornichec is the most cautious doctor I have ever met. It seems like he is just running test after test but he is looking out for your best interest.rnrnI would give him a 110% rating.rnrnI can't say enough good things about him.rnrnrnrn

Dr. Gornichec is extremely thorough and cautious.....very pleased with the pre-surgery/surgery aspect. I have not really had any issues since surgery, but he does have the \"god\" complex and doesn't really know his patients after surgery. I do feel like a number and not a familiar face. He doesn't really seem to know anything going on from my chart on previous visits. And if you are having issues it MUST be something you are doing wrong. He can never just listen and give constructive feedback. With all of that said, I would still not go back to the old me and am grateful for the gift he has given me. I am ABSOLUTELY glad I had the surgery done.

New comment on Dr. Gornichec:rnI am so impressed! Yesterday I had an IVC Filter placement done... and last night I had some terrible lower back pain. I wasn't sure if that was normal or not, so I called the hospital... absolutely no help from them. You see Dr. Gornichec didn't do that placement, so I didn't realize I needed to call him. Another hour of pain and I decided to call Dr. G's office. Of course they weren't there, but the number to the answering service was. I called the service and they got Dr. G on the line within seconds!! He said it was normal to have the back pain and to call back today if I still had pain. No more pain today... but knowing I can get my doc on the line the instant I call is so reassuring!!!

I had called another local surgeons office that was on my insurance list of providers before calling Dr. Gornichec's office. I dont know why, but I called another, Kim answered the phone, it was late in the day, (new years eve, 07). She was so helpful, and personable, I knew this was the place for me. I was sold. My experience has been awesome. The whole crew is the best anyone could ever ask for. They all are very informative, supportive, everything. I have been sooo impressed. If anyone out there is even 'thinking' of bariatric surgery, please, go to one of Dr. G's seminars. you will be sold on them too!!
