Vertical Banded Gastroplasty done in Edmonton Alberta in 1998.
Great Dr & his wife Deb a pleasure to deal with.
They moved to the US & I had no follow up with anyone..

Had a revision in 2011 due to band in vbg being too tight.
So tight in fact that gastroscope was hard to do. My GI doc referred me to a surgeon & he fixed me up.

The first impression was wonderful, he very nice and patient to everybody, my impression never changed he was always the same a very supportive and helpful person. His staff is very supportive to Carrie is very funny, Lisa is wonderful and very patient, and Devorah his wife is super nice, she worries about every little thing. I liked everything about Dr. Cox I think he is very proffessional and experienced. If i had to go back to any surgery I will always choose Dr. Cox as my surgeon he is a very good Doctor and I'm sure he perfectly know what he is doing. The aftercare was perfect he return all my call and worried about every little problem or concern I had as much as Devorah and Lisa did to.
My overall openion for Dr. Cox is the best I don't have anything bad to say.

My surgeon, Dr Cox, what could I say about him, but that he is an angel from heven, he has helped so many people like me who needed this surgery, not only to look good, but to be able to live long enough to see my children grow up. Not only is Dr Cox special as a person but as a surgeon as well. and his staff is just as special & wonderful. they stay on top of things, and they help you all the way. Today it been 9 months sense my surgery, and I would not change one thing. I trust Dr. Cox, and his staff with my life. I love them all, they have become my second family. I know this website says that not one person could be 100% positive on their review, but I have to say I am. I have not 1 bad thing to say about Dr. Cox or his staff.

My first impression of Dr. Cox was that he was very approachable. I had some concerns and he took the time to talk with me. His wife Deborah was great. She told it like it was and her first responsibility as a nurse is to do what is best for your health. I was really worried about having the surgery and was worried about what doctor I chose. It was hard finding out information on the different doctors but I now know I made a great choice. I love Dr. Cox and think he is a great surgeon. His assistant Lisa is great too. She really listened to me and is concerned about helping. I would highly recommend this group to anyone having gastric bypass. The only complaint I have is with Holy Cross Hospital. It was an awful experience and they need better nurses.

I only saw him at the meeting but he looked like a very nice person. The staff is super.
I will give him and all his staff a 10.

Finally attended the seminar. Had a good time and it was very informational. The Doctor did not speak that much. The RN, his wife, did most if not all of the talking. I guess I will meet him after insurance approval.

My first impression of him was this little man is responsible for so many surgerys. I had met his wife earlier that morning at an info session and she is wide open. She is a nurse and don't take no for an answer. That evening I met Dr Cox and was so impressed. He has such a calming manor that no matter how bad things seem to get he just makes you feel very calm and that he is incontrol of things.

The office staff is good. It was great till they hired a new person. For a while it was just handled by Carrie. This man gives new meaning to the word dynmo. He is so funny and supportive.

All and all even though I have had some issues with my surgery, I could not have asked for a better surgery team than Dr. Cox, his wife Deborah, and the PA Lisa. They are all very calming comforting and supportive of you.

When I first met Dr.Cox I was very impressed with him because when I went to other seminars and have met other doctors they never took the time he did with everyone that wanted to speak with him.He was very patient with me and answered every question I asked. He has a wonderful reputation as a skilled surgeon and I hear his bedside manner is awesome. His wife Debrah is a RN of bariatric surgery, she gives the lectures at his seminars and she is awesome also. I knew as soon as she started to speak that I liked her, she say's what the facts are and doesn't sugar coat anything, she's tough, but good a good tough.

Dr Cox is the sweetest, most gentle doctor I have ever met. He suprised me in so many ways, but the most suprised I was is when my gown was loose in the hospital and he saw that I was uncomfortable He took the time to readjust the gown and fasten it for me. He didnt call a nurse or find someone to help me but he did it himself, how impressive is that?!
The office staff is fantastic as well, they are very very helpful, carin, and polite all of them were wonderful.
Dr Cox and Mrs. Cox are very through about the procedure from beging to end. Mrs. Cox goes into detail what is expected of you and what it will take to be successful. They tell all the risk involved in surgery the most extreme being death. I would rate Dr Cox and his team an A++
