I finally met Dr. Cox! He is great! He is very quiet, but seems very interested in the well being of his patients. Deborah Cox his wife, RN, and Clinical educator is the best! She should be the model for what all RN's should be. She is really going to work toward me wel being and do everyrhing she can to make sure I understand everything. She definitly is strict!!!! All I can say is good things about them both!

When I first met Dr. Cox and his wife Debra, I was impressed that they had a true heart for obese people. I felt like they wanted me to be in top health shape. They really cared! I have come to love and respect them more and more each time I talk with them. Their entire office staff is super. They treat each patient as if they were the most important one. I think Dr. and Debra are very knowledgeable in this field of medicine.
They also want you to be very much aware of all the risks and benefits of this type of surgery. They stress the importance of knowing what you must do before, during and after surgery. It is a lifetime commitment! I can't praise Dr. and Debra enough. They are GREAT!! As far as I am concerned there are no better team around! I would go around the world to be their patient.

I first spoke with Carrie who works with Dr. Cox and he was so nice and very helpful. They make sure that you are well prepared for the surgery with heart doctors etc. When I met Dr. Cox he was very nice, and his wife is very nice too. There is nothing negative that I can say about either one of them. The clinics that you must attend are very very imformative and helpful. They also send you home with all of the information and he also calls back every time you need to talk to him. This is so wonderful. I would give Dr. Cox and his wife Debra and staff an AAA++++++++++. I thank God everyday for such a wonderful team, it is hard to find Doctors like him who take medicaid. Everyone says that he is the best, and I agree.

I have been goin to Dr. Cox's support meetings for quite some time now,I was unable to get insurance at first,so I had finally got Total Health Choice which denied me the wls surgery due to it being as they said "Cosmetic Surgery" and not allowed. So I finally got the money to get the wls surgery,I am one week preop,My set date is 7/21 at Northridge Hospital with Dr Cox.
There is honestly nothing negative I can say about Dr cox or any of his office staff, they are Great!..Very caring, supportive and sweet professional people.Dr Cox and his wife Debra who is a nurse/supervisor at northridge hospital are both such all around caring and they r there for you.Debra has a 3 hour class letting you know about everything that will happen before during and after surgery which is very informative. Also we take a hour n half nutrition course that explains the foods we can and cant have.So far from a scale of 1-10 I rate them 15!..I will update more when I have the surgery,I am so looking forward for the chance of finally leading a happy and healthy life.

I am trying to locate Dr. Samuel F. Cox who has left Edmonton, AB, Canada and returned to the U.S. I have no idea where he is. He recommended that I need a reversal done and I need to touch base with him before I make a final decision.
Even though Dr. Cox was not my original surgeon he was wonderful to me. I lived in BC and he was in Alberta and yet he was willing to correspond with me several times by letter before I even met him personally. The report he wrote to my family doctor after our consultation has made such a difference in the care I am now receiving. Before his letter, my problems were just passed off as psychological. I'm just sorry he is not still in Canada. Several Canadians have expressed how much he is missed.
His wife, Debra, was also a wonderful help. I will never forget the support she gave me over the phone long distance without ever meeting me. When I finally did get to go to Alberta for an appointment she spend a lot of time with me personally after her husband was finished with our consultation. I was very impressed. Dr. Cox is a very quiet man and Debra is just the opposite. They compliment each other.

Upon meeting Dr. Cox for the first time, I found him to be a very calm and professional man. He is personable and takes his time to get to know his patient. I was pleased with the quality time I had with him during my first and subsequent visits. His staff is friendly and the required educational class will more than answer all of your questions. I liked that fact that they give out a binder with comprehensive information for you to refer to you later at the educational meeting.
I look forward to working with him. He has my trust.
Since I had previously completed most of my pre-op tests and only had to redo the blood workup, I now have a surgery date of Dec 6th, 2002.
