0 stars should be an option. He botched a DS on my sister and let her suffer for 10 months. No compassion, no urgency and tried to cover it all up. THank heavens for Mayo CLinic. WE are hopeful that they can save her but her condition is extremely serious. They are amazed she did not end up in ICU at this point. She was in the hospital ER every 4 weeks for severe dehydration leading to kidney damage. The fact that she lost more than her target weight loss of 200 lbs in less than 9 months is not normal even for this surgery. and he did nothing to help. She got so mal-nutritioned and weak she could not work or care for herself. She was grey and was slowly dying. He still did nothing. Not even a follow up after ER and hospital admission. He is obviously out to make money and provides NO aftercare not even in serious cases like this. He even tried to discourage her from going to Mayo Clinic but I insisted. WE were shocked at how discusted the Mayo Team is with Not only the mess Dr Marshall made of her but also his lack of urgency responsibility and accountability for her aftercare.

Dr. Marshall is an exceptionally competent and skilled bariatric surgeon. I had a lapro DS with him on 06/29/2012. He is one of only 50 surgeons in the world who does the Duodenal Switch laproscopically. Dr. Marshall has a very low complication rate and keeps abreast on current research in the field. He has a great bedside manner and gives you the information straight: he doesn't beat around the bush and I appreciate that. I trust him implicitly and my mother was so impressed meeting him on my surgery day that she is now looking into having WLS with him. I highly recommend, and would not go to anyone else in the future (he also does general abdominal surgeries such as gallbladder, etc). World class surgeon!!!

My first impression definitely wasn't a good one but that's ok. He is a busy man and the day i met him he was in emergency surgery all day. I left that day not knowing if i picked the right person. However, since that first day i will say i am extremely happy that i picked him. He is a great surgeon! He didn't have the best personality at first (or at least while i was pre-op) if you want someone to joke around with he's not it. But i'd rather have someone who wasn't too personable but was a great surgeon than someone who was personable and not a great surgeon. rn Since i've had the surgery i have noticed he's loosened up a lot!!! It's like he's strict in the beginning but once you get your surgery and using the tool correctly he's more easy going. rn The staff is absolutely amazing as well. Everyone is very friendly!! Anytime you have a question all you have to do is pick up the phone and nine times out of ten you get an answer immediately. rn I don't have any complaints about Dr. Marshall i have a lot of respect for him and without him i wouldn't be where i am today. rn The aftercare is extremely important to them.I believe since my surgery on 2/2/09 i have seen him about 7 times. I have to see him again in december then again in feb for my year. rn Dr. Marshall was very open with me as far as the risks go of having surgery. He also never hesitated to answer any questions i had before and after surgery. Any time i ask him a question he is and was straight forward and tells you the truth. No sugar coating you want the answers he will give them to you and that is one thing (now) that i love about my surgeon. rn Overall, i couldn't praise him enough for his skill and professionalism he has. I would without a doubt highly recommend him to any person if they ask me. rn Once again i prefer surgical competence over bedside manner but Dr. Marshall is very professional and polite. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful surgeon and aftercare staff to help with anything i have ever needed.

I had my lapro DS surgery on July 10, 2009. I have called the office with questions and have always received prompt attention, care and through answers. Dr. Marshall was the only doctor for me from the moment I met him. My husband is ex-Army and very matter of fact, and I watched him and Doc discussing complications and facts and statistics like a ping pong match. It was fantastic. Dr. Marshall is a VERY smart, competent surgeon who gets all my praise. I found his bedside manner to be just fine. I'm not a fan of overly chatty happy doctors when I'm in a hospital bed in pain, so businesslike and to the point is perfect.

My impression of dr Marshall is not a good one. i had open rny aug 11 2000. he was my doctor for eight years. started having problems in 2006.I was on his website ,before/after pictures.im in the info he sends to people who are looking into surgery.I feel he has swept me under the rug because of the problems im having.he did surgery on me in jan 2008.im still in alot of pain.He told my husband and i as a surgeon there was nothing more he could do for me.so i guess he is no longer my doctor.i had an upper gi bleed in feb of 2008.not sure where it came from.90% of stomach they cant see or the 23 feet of my intestins that cant be seen.the pain is slowly killing me.I have left his office crying before-he has the worst bedside manner. What do you do when the dr who does your surgery no longer wants to treat you?

Dr. Marshall is a no nonsense surgeon. He is straight to the point and makes sure you understand what you are commiting to. I would recommend Dr. Marshall to anyone to was considering WLS. My incisions are small and my brusing was minimal. (I had Laprosocpic RNY). He is the best at what he does. Dr. Marshall's beside manner is something to be desired but believe me I would much rather have a skilled surgeon than a joker.

I was a little intimated by him, i hurd his bed side manner sucked and that he was uncaring,,,,,,,,that was the farthest from the truth,, i never had any problems with him and he always made a point to sit and chat for a minute or so before he left the room.. office staff know what they are doing and quick to return calls.. he was only gruff with me when i needed to be put back on track....i would do it again with a doctor like him. and Jana Reed and Melinda love them both!!!!!!!!!!!thanks for giving me my life back!!!!!

Dr Marshall is a very thorough doctor, and he is very sure that you understand what the surgery is doing for you. What it is used for, \"A Tool\". I think very highly of him and he did a wonderful job on me, and I have nothing but great things to say about him.

I have worked in several areas of the country and have had contact with post bypass patients from various programs. I feel that my preparation, surgical procedure and outcomes are exceptional compared to most.
