Timothy Ehrlich Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I had the lap band surgery in March 2008, I lost around 90 pounds within the first three years. I started having acid reflux after that, it was a horrible experience, but Dr. Ehrlich and his team were wonderful and assisted in calming it down. Unfortunately it wasn't working, I have decided to have a revision. I had the band taken out this week and will be scheduling the bypass before year end. Dr. Ehrlich left the original office I had my first surgery through but I located him because I love his forwardness and honesty and have faith in him as a doctor. He has even gone out of his way to meet with me in his other office even though he wasn't in that office that day.

Bariatric surgery is a tool to help you lose weight. From the first encounter it was a great experience. Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable and honest: Dr Ehrlich, Becky and the entire office staff extend themselves to help you succeed. I was well cared for always. I am leaving them only because I am moving to another state.

I had gastric bypass surgery on August 5th. Once I got through the hurdles with CIGNA, it was a breeze. EVERYONE at the office was phenomenal to work with!! Very patient and caring, which is exactly what I needed. The surgery itself was much easier than I had anticipated! I've enjoyed the results and follow-up visits. I always learn so much!! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ehrlich and his staff. As a matter of fact, a dear friend is in the process now and is hoping for surgery in December. My bypass surgery was Monday 9/9/2013, The entire pre-op period was easy, and the crew and Doc made that part of the journey easy and enjoyable, not to mention truly helpful! As for Doc.. I feel he's amazing, and has a wonderful bedside manner. You can feel that he actually cares about his patients, that although this is a business, there is a lot of time and care put into the prep prior to the surgery, and I am convinced it will continue to be as wonderful during post op follow ups!!!! Doc has an amazing team working with him. Everyone is super friendly, lively and helpful every step of the way. Originally I had started the process with another doctor, and I am so very happy I made the decision to be with Dr. Timothy Ehrlich and his great team.

The hospital stay at St. V's was wonderful. The care and help given, so freely with no stress was amazing from the PA, to the nurses, to the nursing assistants.. everyone truly wonderful. Lots of care and support, as well as encouragement!!!!!

I believe I've made a great decision for myself, and wish I had made this decision many years ago. I truly feel blessed, and look forward to the hard work that will need to be done to make this super successful! I'm excited to continue working with the Doc and the Staff!!!! I suggest, if you are still shopping around in the State of CT... Dr. Ehrlich is the best choice!!!

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Ehrlich and his entire staff. As a revision patient, I shared my experience as having been a Lap-Band patient six years ago, and he never gave me a funny look when I described my experience and difficulty with the my band. I had lost all hope of being able to achieve a healthy weight, and Dr. E and his incredible staff have restored my faith in my ability to use this new tool to achieve success, and finally be able to live in a strong, healthy body. I am two and a half weeks out since my surgery, and have healed wonderfully, much better than I did with my Lap-Band with minimal incision discomfort, and with incisions that are much smaller than my Lap-Band ones were. I would highly recommend him without reservation to anyone who is hoping to find a doctor who they hope to actually be able to see after surgery, and who will make them feel as genuinely invested in their achieving their weight loss goals as the patient.

While my surgery was completely fine and I am healthy, I was extremely disappointed that I was misled about what my body would look like afterwards. Initially I was told there would be no scarring or sagging skin, but then after the surgery I was told the scars would in fact be visible and I would have sagging skin. I don't know that I would have gone through with the surgery if I was told that up front. Potential patients have told me when they spoke with the Dr., he has made the same claims to them which are completely unfounded. I am very uncomfortable knowing that I was provided false information, especially that now it is too late to do anything about it. Now I am facing the very real possibility of plastic surgery to fix what I thought wouldn't need to be fixed.

Dr. Ehrlich performed my surgery in 2009 and I would highly recommend him. I moved out of CT and had to change doctors so I have experienced other bariatric surgeons and I have to say that I miss him and his wonderful staff very much!!
They are kind, caring and understanding, as many of them have had this surgery themselves. If you want a doctor who beats around the bush... he is not your man! But if you want one who is straight to the point and honest while treating you with dignity and respect, he most definitely is.
I move around so I have to call them on occasion to transfer my records to different doctors, and though they should be annoyed by this, they just send me another release and diligently send my records... again.

I highly recommend Dr Timothy Ehrlich. He has a Bariatric Program through Griffin Hospital in Derby. He has teamed with Griffin Hospital and their Planetree Model of Care in making a comprehensive program of Bariatric Excellence. Since I started seeing Dr Erlich about a year ago, the program is continuing to grow. The hospital offers support groups, excercise physiologists, dieticians, in conjunction with the doc's office. All co-ordinate to encourage and support patients and those just interested in information. I have been attending the monthly support group which offers spiritual counseling and open discussion, excercise, and a cooking demonstration. This is a free service provided by the hospital and highly encouraged by Dr Ehrlich. The doc has and Rn, PA, and office staff who are very encouraging as well. In fact some of the staff have undergone Bariatric surgery and have been very supportave in my journey.
Dr Ehrlich is down to earth, compassionate and also Tough! He offers seminars to discuss types of Bariatric surgery. His office is located in Shelton, CT. He offers Bariatrics products in his office for convenience.
Griffin Hospital and Dr Timothy Ehrlich are making this a state of the art Bariatric Center.

Dr. Ehrlich is HANDS DOWN wonderful from my first meeting with him. Personable, took time to talk with me personally in his office rather than a medical room. Went over my options, what I had to do. Just a geat experience, and his office staff is exceptional as well. My first RNY surgeon was not horrible but the staff was, this was a very nice change! Thanks!!

I had my surgery on March 8, 2011 (RNY). I have to say that Dr. Ehrlich and his staff are kind and professional. I had to call twice after I got home regarding questions and I received a call back from Dr. Ehrilch himself in the weekend no less. (Not some on call doctor). He and his staff are very informative and make you feel comfortable. Griffin Hospital staff were great! The care was exceptional and if I had to recommend this surgery to anyone, I would in a heartbeat.
