Dr Wagner was quiet and listened very well. He is very experienced which is what I looked for. His office staff is wonderful, I can't say enough about Sara. Dr. Wagner is very particular about aftercare and diet restrictions the first 2 months, so you do not get nauseated etc. Dr Wagner also emphasizes group meetings. I would rate him very high overall, I am in healthcare so I am very particular about this, his bedside manner is wonderful and his surgical competence is second to none, or I wouldn't have had him perform surgery.

My first and continued impression of Dr Wagner has been he is very professional and really cares about his patients.

Sarah, his office manager, is GREAT! She is so patient and answers every question!

I picked Dr Wagner after MUCH research and I trust him completely!

Dr. Van Wagner is very courteous and very informative regarding different types of weight loss surgery. He will let you know of the risks and also the advantages of one procedure over another. He is very much into aftercare and he also is blesses with surgical competence and a great bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone because I am sure he will give 110%.

I would like to mention his office staff Sarah who really makes you feel welcomed and for some reason she understands the embarassment ( at least for me) of being morbidly obese; she is not. Something as minor as getting on a scale has always been a silly fear and embarassment for me.

I have met with Dr. Wagner once thus far, for my surgery consultation. My first impression was that he did not seem rushed and preoccupied like most doctors I have dealt with...who seemed more concerned with how many people they can herd through their office per day. He was very personable, kind-spoken, and patient. His office staff was very friendly, and seemed as though they truely cared. I will update with more information when I have more contact with him and his office.

I met Dr. Wagner at a New Start seminar. He seemed very confident & knowledgeable. He answered every question without hesitation & also seemed to have a sense of humor. I was very impressed with his sweet manner. The fact that he was willing to share some of his personal information from the beginning made me feel very comfortable with him. I feel that he is someone I can trust with my life.

My surgeon is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! He saved my life with this surgery. Could not find another doctor in the area that would do the surgery on me until I lost 75 pounds (if I could lose the weight I would not have needed the surgery!!!) I can never thank him enough.

His office manager Sarah---there are not enough words to describe how terrific she is! She made every stage of this process easier.

My overall experience is abviously A++++++++.

I met Dr. Wagner at a seminar in Jan. 05. I had my consult with him in March 05. He struck me as a caring, kind, and respectable man. He appeared to be concerned about my weight and issues and spoke in great lengths to me about my options.

I have been scheduled for pre-op on May 4th and surgery is set for May 9th.

Consultation went just fine w/ Dr. Wagner. He indicated that, since the last time we spoke in 2003, he had changed from doing open RNY surgeries to laparascopic, and he would be able to do mine laparascopically. I am very pleased with this! He said in the last year, he has done about 100 lap. RNYs and has only had four occasions of significant complications, with no morbidities.

I have a consultation scheduled w/ Dr. Wagner on Monday, March 28, 2005. I have met with him before, but since it has been well over a year, I need to meet with him again so he can do a fresh assessment of me. I am sure it will go fine.

Dr. Fabito is retiring (again!). I was told his last surgery date is April 14 or thereabouts. My short term disability benefit is not available to me until after May 1, 2005, so I am switching to Dr. Wagner who, as you can see by the history here, I consulted with in late 2003. I may need another consultation with him, since it has been such a long time since the first consultation.

Tentatively putting Dr. Fabito as my doctor as I am doing research on him and others.

First meeting with Dr. Wagner.
<br><br>
First impression of him is that he is quiet and humble.
<br><br>
His assistant, Sarah, is personable, efficient, organized, and sensitive.
<br><br>
I didn't find anything objectionable about Dr. Wagner during this visit.
<br><br>
He has not gone into aftercare too much, but he is connected to the New Start program, which does emphasize aftercare.
<br><br>
The New Start program has a structured aftercare program.
<br><br>
I asked him many questions about the risks and statistics related to his surgical experiences. In general, the risks for this type of surgery were discussed in the New Start seminar.
<br><br>
At this point, I would rate him, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being very good) an 8.

I don't know about his surgical competence yet, but his bedside manner is very quiet. He does not seem to be a showy person.

I think Dr Wagner is the greatest dr I have ever had. He takes the time to explain anything you want him to and I feel he would help in any way he could. Dr. Wagner was also wonderful to my wife after surgery and explained everything to her. Dr wagners office staff is just as great as he is. Sarah is so wonderful. She has helped me with everything I needed help with. She has been wonderful in helping me with my leave paperwork for work, and they are extremly picky about everything. I just cannot thank Dr. Wagner and his staff enough for all the help and courtesy they have shown me. I would reccomend them to anyone looking at this surgery. Dr. Wagners aftercare is also great, he feels that after care is just as important as the actual surgery care.

My first impression of Dr. Wagner was at a seminar that I drove to, down in Cape Girardeau. I was very very impressed with him and especially how thorough he was in explaining everything and taking every question. He seems to be a very quiet and patient man.

That is still my impression of him. Last month I had my evaluation with him and once again he impressed me.

His office staff is very easy to deal with and clearly want to help you as much as possible. Nothing seems to fall through the cracks.

It is important to be very honest with him about any past medical problems, as he is very thorough. To my knowledge, he has had no deaths and has been very successful with his surgeries.

He was very concerned about how I would take care of myself and my new tummy, afer the surgery. The aftercare program will be through Newstart.

He talked to me thoroughly about the risks of the surgery but I had been researching for 4 years, so I was well aware of the risks.

I would rate him a 9, on a scale of 1-10. Afterall, there was only one perfect person and that was Jesus.
