He was very pleasant.rnHis bedside manners were not the best but it was because he wanted to push me to things and I didn't feel like it, I know now it was for my own good.rnThe office staff is wonderful, especially Patrice.rnNow, I like everything, I understand him now. He already released me. I hate to think that it was because I was a pain in his axx.rnPatients should know he knows what he is doing and follow his instructions.rnHe gives a lot of emphasis to after-care.rnYes, he tells you about eating habits and exercise.rnHe was very blunt to the risks of surgery which made you think about how prepared I was or wasn't for it.rnI have referred friends to him because I know he will help them.rnHis surgical competence is outstanding and now I can understand his bedside manners, too.

He's awesome. He's a straight shooter and keeps it totally real. My husband was really worried, but Dr. O really answered his questions, and made him totally feel at ease. He's not the surgeon that you want to go to if you want someone to hold your hand because he's very blunt and outright, but if you want a surgeon with an outstanding record and someone who comes ready for everything, then Dr. Overcash is your man! Patrice, his coordinator is awesome as well. She's right there to take care of things and answer any questions that I have had between our consult and now. Not to mention, she's just as sweet as she can be!

Dr. Overcash set himself apart immediately from any other physician I have ever met. I am called back from the waiting room by an athletic looking, monotone blue scrub and tennis shoe wearing male nurse. Brought behind the waiting room door, weighed and escorted into the conference room. Down plops this male nurse that I quickly figured out was Dr. Overcash. That was a very effective ice breaker. Everything has been smooth as silk since then. He was very candid and honest. Very laid back yet professional. Definitely the type of surgeon I was in search of without even knowing it. Any patient referred to or seen by Dr. Overcash is in great hands. I am married to an E.R. nurse so I am used to medical professionals. Any complaints anyone reads about his \"bedside manner\" are probably people who need or are used to being coddled, doted on or in someway otherwise overly pampered. Dr. Overcash is most likely an extremely busy man who, after years and years of experience in this procedure knows what he needs to look for, addresses it and then moves on to the next patient that needs his time as much as me. If anyone can't understand that, they need to be a little less self centered.

I first met w/ Dr Overcash Jan 06. I like him, he was right to the point, answered all my questions..no matter how stupid they may have sounded & I found very personable.rn While waiting for Patrice (the insurance lady) He came out & was joking around with us in the waiting room. He's a nice guy.rnrn Patrice was great too, she is as sweet as can be & really works for you, trying to deal with insurance.rnrn I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm sure I will have more nice things to say when it happens in a few weeks.rnrn**** Well I'm post op now, everything went well, no problems. Overcash did a great job. He is a man of very few words. I didn't see him before surgery. I saw him a minute the day after with his little daughter. I was totally drugged, but he wasnt in my room for more than a minute. A week after surgery I went to his new office to get my staples out, he weighed me & asked how I was doing & then his asst. came in, took my staples out & I was done. Took less than 5 minutes total. I was told to come back in a month. So it was short & sweet, just how I like it :0). I totally reccommend Dr. Overcash.

Dr. Overcash met me at the door and called me back. That surprised me. I thought his nurse would do that, but he did. It was and continues to be a very nice thing about the office procedures. He weighed me and then we went to a conference room to discuss the surgery. He was very straightforward and to the point. He discusses the risks involved and doesn't sugarcoat the possibility of death from this surgery. He wants you to know right up front this is major surgery. He did not try to talk me into or out of the surgery, he was giving me the facts. Dr. Overcash did not rush through explanations. He asked several times if I understood what he was saying or if what he said made sense to me. He spent almost 2 hours in this process. He takes the time to answer all your questions. He told me that some people don't care for his manner and he can be abrute at times. I loved working with Patrice, she is fantastic. Very friendly. Dr O is a great surgeon and I am glad he did my surgery. I felt confident in his record and know that he did his best for me in the surgery. I have had no complications. -- Update Date of surgery, Dr. O was done in appr. 20 minutes and came to the hospital two times. We talked for a few minutes and but he never checked the incesion site or asked how the pain was. He seemed uncomfortable and couldn't wait to get out of there...but I had no complications at all. I would choose Dr O to do this surgery again. He is a great surgeon. However, aftercare is a different matter. It is almost non-existent and I have had more support here on OH then from him. You need to know upfront that his demeanor is what it is. I have nothing bad to say about his skills as a surgeron! He is fantastic as a surgeon.

I had my initial consultation on 10-06-06. I was ver impressed with Dr. Overcash. He explained the surgery and risks involved and was very thourough. He een drew a diagram that explained the difference between RNY and Lap Band. I feel he is a very compitent surgeon and I can't wait for my surgery date.rnrnPatrice is very sweet and very willing to help you meet all your paperwork and ins needs. She is a wealth of information. I am looking forward to getting the surgery knowing I have a great docter with such a helpful staff behind him.
