When I first met Dr. Overcash I was a little put off by him, he certainly seemed to be in a hurry. He had an office full of patient's and he didn't want to waste any time. He called me in the office personally as he does everyone, weighs you, and then explains the surgery to you and whomever wishes to go to your initial consultation with you. We butted heads the entire time I was under his care, (rather my husband and he butted heads more than I did)! He's very stubborn, rude most of the time and has little time to stick around and talk about anything. He's pretty stuck on himself. I have to say I didn't care for the fact that he sends someone else in to check on you after your surgery, I thought it should have been him, especially since I was having a lot of problems. I had a lot of things that went wrong but eventually it all worked out. I do think that Patrice is wonderful, (the one who helps you with your insurance and paperwork). I think he know's what he's doing, he certainly does enough of them he should! People come from everywhere to see him and I guess that speaks well of him. If you're looking for someone with a bedside manner, this isn't the man, but I think he is a good surgeon. The aftercare could have been better I thought. He does a good job of explaining the risks and tells it like it is. Overall I would give the man an 8 on ability and a -9 on personality. Certainly surgical competence is what you are looking for but it sure make's you feel better when you have both. I am now over a year and a half since my surgery and have lost about 175 lbs. I am where I want to be and don't desire to lose any, (or very little), weight if any more. I think that everyone has to meet the man, talk to him and make up their own mind. He has certainly changed my life since I lost the weight. I would never want to go back.

Dr. Overcash escorts you to the lounge to meet with him informally after a brief hello at the scales. Professional to Professional made a big diffference on the level of conveying the procdure and its complications. He drew pics of the procedure and was very open to all questions. I felt we had a good rapport and felt confident he would do my surgery without hesitations.

I was very impressed with Dr Overcrash and office staff. I arrived a hour later after being lost with the direction I got off mapquest. I called the ladies in the office and they talk me in. I meet with Madeline first to go over all of my paper work I need to collect to recieve an approval with the insurance company, then Mr Overcrash then call me back himself and wiegh me in. Doc went over all the pro and con about my surgery. I was real impress when he emphasized to me that he keep an on all patient aftercare near and far. I would rate Doctor Overcrash with an 10. He bedside manner was excellent and he surgical competence.

I haven't visited Dr. Overcash yet, I have an appointment for the initial consultation on August 14. I'm VERY nervous as I am sort of sensitive and have heard things about him being a little harsh, but other than that from everything I've read I'm confident that I've made a good choice to go see him.

June 20, 2006 Well I had my consult yesterday. Dr. Overcash was everything I expected from the reviews I had read. My appointment was for 9a.m. he was a little late, but I didn't mind. He called my name himself, and weighed me himself. Then we went into a room (my mom came with me). He figured my BMI, then told me the risks. He definately doesn't candy coat anything, and he is straight forward, which is something I do appreciate. He drew a picture of the stomach and explained fully what he does, and what he expects, which was very nice. From there I met with Patrice (Dr. Overcash's weight loss coordinator). She went over everything I have to do to submit a request to the insurance company for aproval. She also answered questions I had about other things, the nutrition class, and billing etc. She was very pleasant and friendly.

'I called on May 1 I believe and made my initial consultaion for the 15th. Which most doctors in my area have at least a month waiting list for new patients. so that was cool. When I went in to my appointment he was very nice

Without a doubt a very skillful doctor. I'd choose him again in a heartbeat! He is very direct so expect no sugar coatings but that is exactly what I needed.
