Alvarado Hospital Hospital

Overall, the staff was good; had some GREAT RNs and CNAs, and a couple of not-so-great ones. One nurse would not give me pillows under my legs because she said that I should be able to adjust the bed; unfortunately, I had the bed at its highest level. I ended up having to stay an extra day, because some air sacs in my lungs weren't inflating. It was a Sunday, and I was the only patient on the floor; so they moved me down to one of the other patient wards. The nurses down there were really great.

Actually the nurses aids were more compasionate and helpful than the RNs. It seemed as though the RNs really had no time for you. Even when checking out I had to wait an hour and a half for them to fill out one paper. When it was time to get my staples out, another nurse was nice enough to fill in for the RN that was to do my staple removal. One nurses aid, named Rosemary was an wonderful. She anticipated your every need. She was like a drill sargeant ensuring that you walked and breathed as you were told but she was truly an angel.

The docs, staff and nurses were attentive and great. My main nurse was Rosemary and she was the greatest, she made sure I had my meds and accomedated me with a recliner in my hospital room, she always made sure I was comphy, she bathed me and treated me as if I was her own daughter, with caring and respect. The other nurses were great too. My doc, Dr. Julie Ellner checked on me everyday and was the easiest doc to talk to. The techs for the Xrays did a great job too. All and all I would rate them AAA+
