my first impression of dr. olson was that he was very knowledgable, sincere and straight to the point. he addessed all aspects of the surgery including the risks. he has a very structured aftercare program. i would rate him at the top of the list, his surgical competence was excellent as well as his bedside manner. i am very grateful for the care that he has given to me and would be the only bariatric surgeon that i would recommend. dr. olson has truely given me back my life.

It has been a while since I have posted, but things have been pretty hectic. In the last few months I got engaged, started a new job, had a wedding, and moved to a new town. So needless to say I have been a little busy! I had my bypass surgery a year and half ago and have lost and kept off 103 pounds. I feel great and would do it all over again in a second. I still can't thank Dr. Dyer and his staff enough for changing my life. They are truly a blessing from God. I know without them I would not have had the wedding I had always dreamed of. I can't imagine trying on dresses had I not lost the 100 pounds, but thanks to them I was able to wear a dress like I had always dreamed of. Without the surgery, I would have probably not even had a ceremony because I was so self conscious about my weight. However with the surgery and weight loss, I was confident enough to have my wedding and stand in front of 300 people not worrying about how I looked. If you are considering the surgery, I definitely recommend it and highly recommend Dr. Dyer. He is not only a great surgeon, but a very kind and compassionate person. I can't thank him enough for the surgery and for the continued support he gives afterwards. The follow up care the clinic provides is amazing and helps keep you on track for keeping the weight off. I have probably done every diet ever thought of and my only regret about the surery would have to be that I didn't do it sooner.rn K. Vaden (White)rn Halls, TNrnrnrn

I had the best surgeon. He was a family doctor to say the least. He doesnt seem to have a sense of humor at first but is very funny. He just wants you to succeed. Even after 5 years out he is still on me to lose weight. He was my grandmother and mom's surgeon for breast cancer. He has recently become the surgeon for my cousin who had the GB. My aunt had a lumpectomy. So you can see we trust him with our life. The running joke in our family is he has seen all the women naked. lol He and his office staff are all caring individuals and I personally wouldnt change my decision for anything.

I was very impressed upon first meeting Dr. Dyer. He was very through in explaining the different types of gastric surgeries, and the risks involved.

My first impression of Dr. Dyer was that he had his preop speech down pat. He had probably said it thousands of times. However, he still made me feel special. I asked a million questions and he did not rush me. I appreciated that. I feel that he is truly a caring person. His bedside manner was excellent. He emphasizes aftercare greatly. His office is very thorough in addressing any problems you may be having. They have answered crazy questions over the phone that I have had to ask. Their office staff are truly professional and make you feel welcome. Overall, my experience has been a great one. I would recommend Dr. Dyer to anyone who is fat and miserable as I was. I am only 40 pounds from my goal and I see it in sight. I wouldn't trade anything for my RNY. rnrn

My first impression of Dr Dyer was that he was really quiet and reserved but I soon found out he was accessible and caring and that he was a great surgeon. I am 6 years post op and have done exceptionally well. I had to have a repair 2 years out but have not had any ongoing complications. Knowing what I know now, I would absolutely still have the surgery again. My quality of life is so much better with the results that I achieved with the rnsurgey. I was able to have 2 beautiful children. I was told that my weight prohibited a successful pregnancy for me. I am just so grateful that I had this surgery and inmy opinion Dr Dyer was and is a wonderful physician.

I was a little intimidated by Dr.Dyer when I first met him,but as I talked with him,I realize my impression of him was wrong,he was actually very nice,he doesn't smile very much but he is rather nice. His office staff is very nice and helpful too. He's a good Doctor, but he will tell you when your not losing enough weight like you should so if your snacking you need to stop before it gets out of hand.He will firmly tell you everything you need to know about the surgery,I rate Dr. Dyer as being the best surgeon I know for this type of surgery. I recommend Dr.David Dyer to anyone looking for a bariactric surgeon. He's the best in every way.

My first meeting with Dr. Dyer was a social one. It was at a retreat banquet that the Yahoo Group put together called L2L the first one ever in 2007. I'm sure the first of many. And his wife Nina was with him. My impression of him was that he was a very caring and compassionate man. But, when him and her came to the hotel the next morning, that even surprised me more. (He was the ONLY Dr. from the center that came.) He had breakfast with us and sat through the morning sessions. He's very much like us....very comfortable!!! My second encounter with him was the Walk from Obesity and he was with his wife again and I got the same response. I am just very comfortable around him. I even felt comfortable enough to give him huggs. He seems really proud of the progress that you as a person are making individually. And I really do like that. My third encounter with him was at my consult. He was very professional there. He talked about all the procedures with me in detail, like at the seminar. Waited on me to ask any questions that I might have. He knew that I was very active in the online support group, so he encouraged me to go to Dr. Frye's groups and I told him that I attended several support groups and he was glad of that. I am so glad I got him as a surgeon. I didn't pick him, he was the one that my insurance chose for me, but he was the answer to my prayers. His wife Nina was also in the waiting area when I first arrived and she remembered me. She came up to me and started talking to me. I was very impressed with that, that she remembered me and thought I wouldn't remember her. Very nice couple...seem to care a lot about you as individuals.

I am a 58 year old female who has recently had a gastric bypass. I am NOT obese but had severe reflux disease. I have had 2 failed reflux surgeries and was a high risk for esphogeal cancer. My Internist referred me to Dr. Dyer to see if a gastric bypass would be the answer. When I went to see Dr. Dyer,he spent a very long time with me discussing what could be done and the risks and benefits of a gastric bypass. He felt that a bypass would be the answer to my reflux problems. He spent time answering my questions and never made me feel like He was in a hurry.( I have to admit thought I think I threw everyone in his office off because I was not obese). Dr. Dyer is a very caring and compassionate person. His office personnel has been very helpful and understanding. I am now 2 weeks post op and have had No reflux for the first time in almost 30 years. Dr. Dyer has been my life saver and hopefully now I can live a more normal and healthy life because of Him. THANK YOU DR. DYER.rnrnrn10/22/07rn I am now 6 months post- op after a gastric bypass for reflux and feel great. I have lost 54 lbs since my surgery(I was NOT obese when I had my surgery)I have been a diabetic for 20 years and have been on a Insulin pump and high blood pressure medication since I was a teen. Last week my Internist took me off my insulin pump and my hypertensive medication. I feel like a new person. I have not had any reflux since my surgery and have now been able to sleep through the night without being awaken with the acid.rn Dr. Dyer is a lfe saver and I have the greatest regards for him and his staff who have helped me through some rough times in the beginning. I will never regret having the surgery.THANKS DR. DYER.

I had already heard of Dr. Dyer through a friend who had already had the surgery. When I went to the seminar about the surgery Dr Dyer was the one speaking at the seminar. I knew then and there that I wanted him to do my surgery. All the way through the process of the surgery the office staff and Dr. Dyer was there to answer any questions I had and give me all the assistance that I needed. During the surgery I got the best care you could ask for at Centennial Medical Center. After the surgery I again got all the assistance I could ever ask for from Dr. Dyer and his staff with everything from personal nutrition plans to personal exercise plans and every kind of medical test that was necessary. I wouldn't have had the surgery with any other doctor other than Dr. Dyer and I would highly recommend him to anyone that needed the surgery. Before the surgery I weighed 332 pounds and my health was very bad. Now I weigh 189 and I am in excellent health. The surgery was a life saver.
