The staff at Crestwood, during whatever stay I had, were always kind, caring, and treated me as if they'd known me forever. During my WLS, I was in their "Short Stay" area, and the nurses there were VERY knowledgable about WLS, and treated me like a princess.

I was very impressed by Dr. Foreman and would rate him a 10 out of 10. He is very professional, friendly, kind and caring. His surgical competence and bedside manner were outstanding. He gives detailed explanations, makes sure you understand the benefits and risks associated with the surgery. Aftercare is stressed and explained thoroughly and my food selections, vitamins, exercise, and general health have been discussed at every visit. His nurse and office staff are always friendly and willing to help or answer any questions you have. I have not had a negative experience with either Dr. Foreman or his office staff.

I was very pleased when I meet with Dr. Suggs and his staff. They were very nice and truly seemed interested in me as a person and as a patient. You could tell that Dr. Suggs truly has a passion for his profession and for his patients and that made me feel more comfortable with the whole idea of having this surgery

I am so thankful to have Dr. Jay Suggs as my surgeon. He has been wonderful during this long process, and clinically he has a great track record. When I first met him, he made me feel right at ease, and I felt like he could empathize with my situation. Since then, my trust in him has only grown. Kathy, the office coordinator, is just wonderful, and always answers any questions that I have. Thanks, Kathy! Rosie, the dietician, has taken so much time with me to help me prepare for after surgery. It has been a wonderful experience so far, and I feel very confident going into surgery.

Crestwood went out of their way to insure I was comfortable. My only negative about the hospital was having their admissions department call me 36 hours before the surgery to tell me they needed $6250 up front before the surgery could take place. If not for the grace and mercy of God and some friends, my surgery would have been postpond as I did not have the money readily available. Had the hospital called me a week before, the money would have been available within four days.

I will say that the the nurse that was on the night shift was absolutely fabulous. She helped me with every need.
The reason that I have it poor and horrible in responsive staff and restfully quiet experience respectfully is because of the bad experience I had prior to the night shift nurse. There was an RN and a patient care technician taking care of me. The patient care technician bad mouthed the RN and kept messing with my IV fluids and air was getting in the lines. The patient care technician made me nervous taking me off my antibiotics before they were completed and everytime she touched my IV ..the signals would go off. I requested that my RN come in to check my IV and the patient care technician came in and was really mean to me. She said that she would not be back in my room since I thought she did not know what she was doing. The bad thing is that I was just hours out of surgery and had to deal with this drama. The head nurse came in and was saying that she was hearing conflicting stories. It was a lot of stress and I was trying to recover. There was friction with the staff and I had trouble getting help from the nursing staff until the night shift came on duty. There was one night nurse and she was wonderful and I felt really comfortable. I wished I would have went to see administration the next day, but I was discharged so quickly it was time to go home and I was tired.

I met with Dr Mailapur Tuesday and all I can say is the man impressed me very much. His staff is beyond awesome. I was already impressed with his seminar the week before but meeting him face to face just cinched what I already felt. He made me very comfortable and to be totally honest I haven't a worry in the world that when my date for surgery is scheduled and I go in that I will be in very good hands. His lack of hesitation in telling us things at the seminar caught my attention right off the bat. He didn't have to stop and think of his answer it just came naturally. That same feeling was there in a one on one situation.rnrn

I had heard of Dr. Mailapur, but had not yet met him when I called his office to get information. The receptionist put me on hold, and the doctor picked up the phone to talk with me. That really impressed me that he cared enough to speak with me before I had even met him. When I did meet him, I was equally impressed. Very knowledgeable and his staff pleasant and helpful. I attended the free public seminar and then was able to get an office appointment rather quickly. I did have to pay the consult fee up front ($175). He told me after that, I would only be responsible for the copay on subsequent visits. Being a nurse at the hospital where he operates, I have been able to talk with nurses who take care of his patients postoperatively, and they have had nothing but great things to say about him, and several co-workers had the surgery, and were very happy with him. I'm looking forward to starting this new chapter in my life! I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Mailapur...I think he's wonderful!rnrnApril 5, 2007rnHome from the hospital today and I'm still very impressed with Dr. Mailapur. He came by my hospital room this morning to remind me of the \"rules\" and that he has given me a \"tool\" and it's up to me to make the best use of it. He's very caring, and I'd have to rate him A++++!
