HealthSouth Hospital
Would not like to return.
the staff was wonderful, the best experience I ever had at a hospital
Very thorough and caring staff. I felt that they responded to every need that I had. I know that my husband was disappointed that they did not have one piece of equipment working (to increase/decrease pressure on feet to reduce risk on blood clots) the entire time I was there despite their efforts to change it out with different devices. I was not happy with being awakened every 2 hours the night after surgery, but that is in the best interest of the patient!
Overall it was alright, but I am not sure I would reccommed others to use this facility.
I was there for my Pre-op Endoscopy and everything went great. Denise Oakley and Mary are just great! They both make you feel comfortable and not rushed. They let me visit with my friend Kim who was having the same test done as me. She was over on the other side of the hall, but they did not seem to mind that I was in her room before her test. I also met Roy (nurse) he was great, came and brought me lunch, and took out my IV that had back flowed. I'm considering using this hospital for my surgery. Well, I used this hospital for my surgery, and I must say I was very pleased. I had excellent medication control and wonderful nursing staff~I rang my nurses bell and they came running. The only time I had minor problems was when my nurses would go on break and I would get stuck with the TECHs OMG they are bad...I ended up telling a tech how to take my temp & read my BP that was scary! Overall I would use the 3rd floor of HS again if need be.
I thank the hospital was excellent in its care, and postive attutide by all the employees I was arrround,
Good facility, Great staff
My biggest frustration with this place is that there just aren't enough staff nurses to handle the patient load. Like most hospitals, they call agency nurses in for peak times and they're not all familiar with the equipment and the philosophy of the hospital. My worst night/day there involved agency nurses and aids who didn't have a clue why my IV machine was beeping and it took them TOO long to figure out it was because my morphine pack was dry! On the other hand, there are some real TREASURES there - specifically Denise Oakley in Day Surgery, Roy who's an LVN and Robert who's an aid.
