Kaiser Fremont Medical Center Hospital

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Dutta at the Kaiser- Fremont Facility. He is a skilled surgeon and is very caring.

I met Dr. Dutta on March 6, 2009 and was very impressed with him. He seems quite kind and very intellegent. I feel confident putting my trust in this surgeon.

When I first met Dr. Hahn I was unsure about him. He seemed very serious like and I felt no connection with him patient to doctor at first. That all really changed when surgery date came. I was his first official vertical gastric sleeve patient and I found myself more excited than nervous. Dr. Hahn really took the time to see me several times while in the hospital, which made it more comfortable for me when I needed it the most. His caring bedside manner is a plus in my book. A great doctor once you get to know him.

I had two very attentive and friendly nurses and one I could have done without. The first two nurses were very good at checking up on me and asking my condition. The third nurse might as well have not even been there. I hardly saw her at all and could not understand her when she did show up. Thankfully, the first two had set me up so well that I really didn't need her around.

I had a great first impression of Dr. Dennen. He was the doctor that informed me of the operation at my orientation, that I went to twice (once for me, once for my husband). I was so impressed that I requested him to be my surgeon. Over time I have only been more impressed by his intelligence, knowlege, and compasion. His office staff is increadible. They operate very efficiently. The staff is always helpful and friendly. No matter how many times you call to bother them. Nancy is the corrdinator and how she does her job so well is impressive. She as a massive amount of responsiblility and she handels it very well. Honestly I can't think of one thing I don't like about Dr. Dennen. The only thing I would want to change is mabey to have an earlier surgery date (who doesn't)but I only waited 5 months from Orientation to Surgery Date so from what I here that is pretty good. I also wanted a vertical sleeve and Northern Kaiser doesn't approve that kind of surgery so I have to get an RNY instead. Future patients should know that he is very easy to talk to. My husband also had his surgery by him and my husband is a very nervous patient but he felt incredibly comfortable with Dr. Dennen as do I. He definently incourages you to use the aftercare program that is well organized. He is very informative about every aspect of the surgery that includes before, during, and after surgery. I have never met a more competent doctor than Dr. Dennen and his bedside manner is awsome! Overall on a range from 0-10 I would give him 1000! and Im very picky about my doctors.

My first impression of Dr. Hahn was he was a cut to the point kind of guy, professional, and knowledgeable. I felt at ease immediately with Dr. Hahn and trusted him, which is not always easy for me. He answered all my questions and concerns and he stressed the importance of following the guidelines set in place for my care. His staff was friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable there. I personally think surgical importance is better overall. Good bedside manor is nice, but some Physicians just have a hard time showing that side of themselves. I feel much more safe with a Doc that knows what he is doing. I won't let a little grumpiness get in the way. With Dr. Hahn, I think I am in luck because he seems to possess both qualities.

My original surgeon, Dr. Chu, is on maternity leave. Dr. Dutta will be taking her place as my surgeon in the meanwhile. I have not met him yet, but his email was sincere. I have not come across a bad review about him, so that makes me feel comfortable. The coordinator should be calling me in a few weeks to schedule a surgery and I'll meet in in the pre-op appointment.
