I had my frist appointment with Doctor Koshy on July 26, 2012. So far so good. He sat down and explained the process of the surgery to me, he asked me if I had any questions for him, which at the time I didn't. The office staff is also very helpful they let you know exactally what you need to help speed up the surgery process, they even help with insurance problems.

I found that the staff at St. Lukes were very helpfull, I work in a medical facility so i know the pressure they are under! I was there 5:30am and out by 5pm. surgery was at 8am and at 10 i was in ICU until about 4pm. I have a nurse I shared with another patient and I was very grateful to her for helping me get up eventhough she was so tiny and I'm not! the surgeons were very nice, i was very dehydrated and awefully afraid of needles and they couldnt find a vein :/ but he took his time and once it was in i was out :)

I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Belsley. Not only did everything go super-smooth, but he is very very quick at getting back to one with post-op questions. Very highly recommended.

I was at St. Luke's in upper Manhattan. My general feeling - keeping in mind that this is the only hospital stay in my entire life - is "so-so." The staff is competent, but a bit too informal for my tastes. Specifically I couldn't sleep the first night because of itching from the pain meds and loud talking by nurses aides in the corridor. The nurses never told me that itching was a side effect, and can be countered, until the following day. Because of that and other minor issues I wasn't overjoyed with this hospital.

He was highly knollegable and had really great beside manner. He is also very profeciant and is personally involved in the support groups. He discussed the need for support and nutritional follow up as well dietary compliance. He also went over all the risks. Subsequently he looks like Dr. Wilson from the hit tv series house.

I honestly was truly amazed how caring and helpful the staff on particularly the 10th floor at 10East were. Everything I needed they provided even down to the radiology dept. I was very sick throwing up and they were so kind making me as comfortable as possble. Everyone I came in contact within this hospital was very helpful and kind. I now consider this my number one hospital. The people there really lived up to it's name of being a St. Luke. God bless them all.

Love this hospital. It has it's own wing and section just for bariatric patients, with food settings just for you, and all the people there know what you're going through.

My first impression of Dr. Belsley is one of complete dedication to the patient and that patients weight loss goals. My consultation with Dr. Belsley was not only informative but reassuring. I felt I could speak with him about my goals, reservations, questions, and emotional impact that weight loss surgery has on the psyche. rnrnI am very happy with my decision to have Dr. Belsley as my surgeon.rn

The staff were awesome. Except when I was off my morphine pump. I learned very quickly once I was on oral pain meds, that I needed to push the button for a nurse 1 hour in advance because most of the time that was how long it took for them to respond. Not cool!
