I feel the hospita in general does not have a protocal for post op care for obesity. on my dietary tray I was given a bread stick , a can of soda. nurses also were very poor care.

My first evening in ICU was horrible ! The one nurse was terrible! My nurse was arguing with another nurse in the middle of the night. Waking me up. My call nurse button didn't work. I wasn't allowed a phone in ICU, but the guy in the bed next to me was. Go figure.

I did not like the respiratory therapists at night. It seemed as though they "forgot" about me and I stayed on the treatment mask forever.

Private rooms are given to all surgical patients over 300 pounds and your relatives are allowed to visit any time day or night and stay overnight in your room.

Everyone was terrific and supportive. I had one nurse that was in a terrible mood due to a demanding patient. I would like to state that I did have a horrible experience with the X-ray Tech, Reggie, who rolled me over right after surgery. He was extremely rude even though I tried to explain to him that I was in pain. Then when he rolled me over, I heard something pop and then it was extremely painful in my abdomen. Everything was fine but there was fluid from my drain site everywhere and I was extremely upset. I thought I would have to have surgery again and was terribly frightened. When I told him to go get my nurse, he yelled at me that he didn't have time for this because 2 people called in sick and he was busy. Unacceptable!!!

The Nurses were great. They know how to care for larger patients.

My post-op course was fraught with complications and I feel that my life was saved more than once. The staff listened to me and overall was excellent.
