Healthy Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day is more than just chocolates and flowers, it should be a day to celebrate your relationship by spending time together.  Here are some healthy date ideas for Valentine's Day, dinner optional. Also, these date ideas can with any type of Valentine: significant other, best friend, or make it a family date!

Skate Date - Roller or Ice, skating is both fun and great exercise. And you have someone to help you up when you fall.

Evening Under the Stars - Visit a planetarium or take a telescope outside to view the stars and see how many constellations you can identify. Or just take a walk and star gaze.

Take a Class  -  Find your inner Picasso or Fred Astaire.  Painting classes and dance lessons have become very popular and are fun way to learn a new hobby. Daily deal sites like Groupon or Living Social often have discount offers on classes.

Live Theater - There are usually many concerts and play performances specially produced for Valentine's Day. If you look locally, you may find college or church productions that are low cost or free.

Relax at the Spa - Relieve your stress by getting a couples massage, facial or manicure/pedicure. Yes, men like to be pampered too!

Memory Lane - Tour local places of significance in your relationship: first met, first kiss, any place that holds a special memory.

Just Play - Visit an arcade, ride go carts, go bowling, or play laser tag! Just have fun, with a side of competition.

Back to Nature - Visit the animals at the zoo or tour a botanical garden or conservatory to learn about plants and flowers in season other than just roses.
