MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
On a daily basis we get calls from members in desperate need of surgeons that will accept Medicaid and or Medicare for Bariatric surgery. It breaks our hearts when we have to say "we don't know of any surgeons in your state we can refer you to".
Can you please help us? If you know of any surgeons in your state that accepts Medicaid and or Medicare, will you list their:
If they accept Medicare and or Medicaid
This list will remain here for our members to access and use.
Thank you so much!!!

unfortunately, Dr Hoekstra does not qualify, simply because he does not perform this surgery at the arbitrary frequency determined by Medicare.
currently, Dr Hoekstra's office is researching if he is able to offer bariatric surgery to Medicaid patients.
when i have an answer, i will post it on this board!
I know this is a late reply to your post, but I just joined,
I started out with Dr. Hoekstra when I had insurance (BCBS) then could not use him because my insurance dropped (got fired at my job for a panic attack) He does NOT take Medicare or Medicaid. Those black folks who are his patients have jobs and insurance. I know, because I was one of them. I'm now on Soc Sec Disability, and have both Medicare and Medicaid (with a $972 per month deductable). I had to switch to St. Vincent's. My doctor, Dr. Margaret Inman will take a mix of Medicare and Medicaid, or just Medicare, but not straight Medicaid..

The office is located on the second floor of St. Vincent's Bariatric Center of Excellence.
I have both Medicare and Medicaid, and Medicaid picked up what Medicare did not pay.
