Good morning! Happy Memorial Day! My Mr. Hag has come home to Boston, y'all!!! :)

Can't say I know much about the menu today. I brought a bunch of leftover CAMAW stuff to Grim's empty refrigerator, so I have some mini pepperoni, babybel cheese and HB eggs here (and coffee...lots of coffee!).

Its pouring and cold here. Most of the parades were canceled, so no BBQs today.

I think the shrimp round is a great idea. I brought one to a potluck baby shower a few months ago and it was a hit.

Glad to hear Grim is back home and you are feeling better too. Sorry about the weather it's beautiful here in Illinois! I even brought out the shorts so the family can be blinded by my bright white legs!

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

QOTD:  No BBQ's planned for today.  I don't know what I would bring if I was going to one.  My daughter and I are planning to have a BBQ at a nearby lake sometime soon to celebrate both her Graduation from college and my 60th Birthday if we can find a date the whole family can all come.  Saralisa and I will probably provide the meat for the BBQ, likely hamburgers & hot dogs and the rest of the family can bring side dishes.

My menu for yesterday was:  Protein shake, Weigh****cher's meal Sante Fe Rice & Beans, 1/2 burrito and a Power Bar protein bar.  Today will probably be something similar.

Exercise will be walking the dogs.  We have been going further around the subdivision the last two evenings and I can do it now without getting winded!  YAY!

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning everyone, and happy Memorial Day. Thanks Cynthia  for getting us started this morning.

I am back from Seattle, and had a wonderful weekend. There is nothing better then spending time with your best girl friends. We airways have so much darned fun.  I ate terribly, and drank way too much, but I don't regret one minute of it.  Picture of the girls is below.   Back on track today.

QOTD: No BBQs for me today.  My niece is coming over this afternoon, and I am taking her grocery shopping.  She is starting her RNY pre approval process, so I am going to help her find good choices for her and her daughter.

i always find BBQ's to be a pretty safe bet, since they usually involve some kind of grilled meat or fish.  I like to bring a big plate of grilled veggies (egg plant, summer squash, onions, etc.). I drizzle it with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and some fresh basil.  In the summer, a caprese salad is always nice, with fresh mozzarella.

B:  Egg Beater, mozzarella and bacon omelette

L : Flat Out  pizza

D:  Rib eye steak

i will likely add a couple of snacks in there since I need more protein.

have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Yay for girls weekends! I like that you said you don't regret the eating and drinking with your friends. If you are going to do it...enjoy, no guilt. I think the important thing is it is a conscious decision for a special occasion and it is just not a series of bad choices spiraling out of control.

Salads sound yummy too....

I totally agree. The one thing that struck me was how anxious I was to get back to my normal menu and eating.  While that was fun as a special occasion, I have no desire to keep going down that road.  I actually like how I eat now.  Who woulda thunk it?
