Hi everyone, how are you? All is good here! Today is officially the first day of Spring. I don't know about you all but we have full sun and a high of 2C (36F) and its slowing getting a tad warmer as the week goes on. I am now ready for Spring & Summer to arrive!

Accountability: On plan but on my way home from work I had a protein granola bar that I had in my lunch bag as I was feeling light headed. Its one of those Nature Valley Coconut Almond protein bar. Not the best choice and it gave me nasty RH (Reactive Hypoglycemia). Which leads me to my QOTD.

QOTD: Do you recall your worst RH episode if you have ever had one? If you have not had RH have you had dumping? I don't dump, but I do get RH. Last night was pretty bad. I had the granola bar at 3:30pm and by 4:00pm I was shaking, yawing so bad I could not see for the tears rolling down my face, my heart was racing yet I was about to pass out. I laid down on the couch and next thing I know its 730pm and I was totally out of it. Had no idea what day it was, what time it was and I was drenched in sweat! UGH.

Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 4 months

B: decaf with 1 vanilla PP used as creamer then Activia vanilla yogurt

L: baby romaine lettuce with two hard boiled eggs/goat cheese & balsamic dressing

S: two baby bel cheese

D: One stuffed bell pepper

S: SF vanilla pudding

Totals: 898 calories, 75 protein, 57 carbs

V: patches are on

E: 60 min step class and 60 min muscle pump

Have a great day everyone!

Happy first day of spring! Not feeling it here--more snow is on the way.

Accountability: Nope. I'm making a deal with myself to hit the gym hard today to try to make up for yesterday's indiscretions.

QOTD: My first RH episode was about 6 months post op. I had not had even one sugary thing off plan until the holidays, and someone gave me a big bag of Hershey Kisses. I can't remember if I had one or two, but it was a tiny amount compared to my pre-op self. I had shakes and sweats and tummy issues for hours. I thought I was dying. I've never had it so bad, again, but now when I get RH, I am generally just soooooo tired that I could sleep on the sidewalk in the snow.

Morning!

Yesterday and Sunday we had beautiful weather, but according to my weather app it's supposed to snow today. The always cold thing didn't hit me until maybe 6 months post op. Since then I'm permanently frozen. I have got to go to grad school in the south. Brrrr.

UOTD: I had one instance where my barista gave me sugar sweetened coffee syrup instead of the sugar free I asked for. It didn't last longer than an hour or two but it was bad. Then one time I had full fat cottage cheese, and I know fat is good for us, but that was too much fat. I was sweaty and dizzy and oh it was unpleasant.

A: It was my friends birthday yesterday so I bought her a brownie from a fantastic local bakery. They had little samples of fudge, maybe a centimeter each way, and I took one. So good! I hadn't eaten anything for several hours and caved under the smell of my favorite foods.

M:

  1. Jerky. I found the tastiest gas station jerky logs. 1 carb and zero sugar. I'm in love
  2. HB eggs
  3. bone broth
  4. cooking dinner with my friend on whole 30 (which I think is terrible for long term weight loss, but hey who am I too make that call)

I know what you mean about always being cold. I used to be hot all the time!

Morning!

guess who took the day off to go to the spa?? Yay!! Spa day with my sisters.

qotd: no real RH or dumping here yet. I do get lightheaded on occasion. And there has been a couple of times when I've eaten something way too fast and didn't chew. That will have me curled up in a ball until it passes.

accountability: great since C/Amaw. It helped me kick the protein bar habit and get my head back in the game.

Menu:

B: coffee and premier

L: tbd but the spa has a lot of charcuterie type options

D: tbd on when I get home.

have a good one!

Good morning! Happy tuesday! I made it through my first day at work (although I was exhausted!) and realized that my fluid intake might actually be better at work -- somehow I forgot that I drink two 20 OZ hot teas (non caffeine, no sweetner) a day when I'm there so that was a happy reminder!

Accountability: Not sure why but I got really anxious about the carbs from the yogurt I had planned .5 for snack and .5 for dinner so I swapped them for a string cheese snack and 2 oz deli roast beef chopped for dinner; ended up higher protein, lower cals and carbs than planned! I also ended up working out a bit more than planned so that was good!

QOTD - I've not had RH or dumping yet. I'm sure it will happen and I'm not looking forward to encountering it.

Time since surgery - 5 weeks-1day

B - 4 oz fairlife, 8 oz coffee; .5 vanilla PP

S - 4 oz fairlife, 8 oz coffee

L - 2 oz deli roast beef, chopped

S - string cheese

D - 2 oz deli peppered turkey breast, chopped

S - .5 vanilla PP

Totals - 434 cal, 63 Protein, 10 carbs

V - on track!

E - trainer for 50 minutes today, also ensure 10K steps

My fluid intake is much better at work too! It's habit to go to the water cooler, and I like to have hot tea in the afternoon :)
