Hey Menu Friends, how are you all? I write this with a heavy heart, the city I work in Toronto, Ontario Canada there was a horrific tragedy yesterday afternoon. A man drove a van onto a busy sidewalk aiming for people and killed 10 and critically injured many others! This happened about 30 minutes North of where I work, its just devastating, and I am quite shaken up. Thank you to all my OH friends who checked in on me, you all are so amazing!

Here is a CNN link to the story: Toronto Tragedy

QOTD: Do you still wear a watch? In the world of smart phones and wearable technology I see lots of people are not longer wearing a watch. I don't wear one, but I never did before I got a smart phone, its just not my thing. I do have a Fitbit Alta HR which has the time but 99% of the time I have my iPhone with me so I just look at that.

B: decaf all day + vanilla PP used as creamer

L: cucumber & laughing cow

I am so weary of hearing of one more example of our inhumanity. Prayers for the victims, their families, and the first responders.

Yesterday was good. Only liquids and that is the plan for day 3.

QOTD I don't wear a watch. I have a nice one that I received as a service anniversary gift from work but it just aita in my jewelry box.

Be kind!.

Morning!

i don't know what's going on, but I had a terrible sleep and I've been awake since 4:30. Doesn't bode well for the day...

qotd: nope. I never caught on to wearing a watch. Partly because I read something when I was young about how people with big arms shouldn't wear wide watches or bracelets, as it made your arms look bigger. (Insert eye roll here hahahah) but mostly because I could never get used to wearing one. They always annoyed me.

accountability: on point

menu:

B: coffee and premier

L: leftover crack slaw

D: tbd on what I pull out of the freezer

S: yogurt or cottage cheese. I have both at the office.

have a good one!

Such a sad event up in Toronto, I really don't understand people these days.

I have been wide awake since 2:12 this morning, i'm assuming it's because I'm going to have such an amazing tuesday, my brain and body just decided to start it early (at least that's what I'm telling myself).

Accountability - I had an extra protein water and an extra ounce of pastrami so a bit higher on calories but still in the 500 range and under 20 carbs.

QOTD: yes, I am a watch wearer -- I have several that look more like jewelry than watches and I just bought myself a hybrid fitness watch that looks like a regular watch, tracks activity and all and runs on a watch battery so I don't have to charge it as often as my fit bi****ch.

B: Coffee + .5PP

S: Coffee + .5PP

L: 2 oz deli turkey breast + baby bell cheese

Dinner: Chicken Chile rellano casserole

Totals: 556 calories, 73 protein, 10 carbs

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I'm so sorry to hear about that tragedy. I feel like humanity is just falling apart some days.

I went to the endocrinologist yesterday, and my A1c tested at 5.9! The lowest it's been since probably before I was diagnosed in 2011, and that is off meds for about 2 months (shortly after surgery). I'll see her again in August but if my number is still holding there or likely lower since part of this reading was pre-op if it takes the last 3 months average, she said I won't have to see her again unless I have future issues! SO EXCITED!

qotd: I never did wear a watch, but I have a Fitbit on backorder which I will be wearing once it arrives. We ordered the scale too!

breakfast: chocolate protein shake with a bit of decaf instant coffee added

lunch: leftover BBQ (I didn't fini**** up yesterday)

dinner: I have plenty in the fridge or freezer to choose from, likely another apple Gouda chicken sausage from Costco

I am so excited for your progress! My A1C a few months before surgery was 9.5 on 3 meds. I got off all of my meds but Metformin (lower dose) right after surgery. Within a few months, I was off everything and six months after surgery, my A1C was 5.3. It is such a great feeling!

My last reading pre RNY was 7.8, which was just barely under the 8 the surgeon required to do the surgery. Being below 6 is awesome! I was over 14 when I was diagnosed 7 years ago
